Terrific, amazing, outstanding, FUN. This place was just what the doctor ordered to get out for some family fun and see smiles. The animals were so neat and so gentle, the tour guide/owner, Heather, was friendly and knowledgeable. This was great and really I can't see anyone not liking it there. We bought our 10 year old son and he had so much fun! So close to Frederick and yet you feel away from the city and just there aren't enough kind words I can say!

Booked a tour online ahead and visited for the first time. Heather was very sweet and she gave us a lovely, educational tour- learned so much! got to walk among and feed the suri and huacaya alpacas and pet them. The male and female national show champions they have in the herd were absolutely gorgeous! Then we got to be with the donkey and adorable goats, who loved being pet. Afterwards we got to learn about the shearing and how the fleece is spun into product, very intriguing. Every year they breed and sell alpacas once weaned, will definitely be back to visit the babies! Highly recommend this local gem- you won’t regret it.

Amazing experience thank you Heather for being so informative about all of the animals, and also for being very nice to everybody. There were many different animals including sheep, donkeys, peacocks, turkeys, chickens, and the best for last alpacas. The best part was we went inside of their cages to pet them when the tour started. Thank you Breezy Farm for this experience I will definitely be back soon.

It was a wonderful experience to visit and tour the farm. We got to feed and pet the Alpacas and other farm animals. Heather has been an excellent guide, and she is very knowledgeable. The gift shop is also full of interesting handmade crafts. Would definitely want to visit again. Thank you for everything!

Who are these adorable, gentle, soft and playful creatures? We met these gentle friends at Breezy Hill Farm in Woodbine, MD which was about an hour's drive from DC. Alpacas, a member of the camelid family, are smaller and nicer than llamas, a relative. Mainly, they don't spit, at least not intentionally. We found these alpacas to be sweet, soft and silly. It was a little difficult to find the farm. The entrance is not clearly marked and we made at least two wrong forays onto adjacent properties before finding the farm. Once there we were welcomed by Heather, one of the owners, who gave us a brief rundown before introducing us to some of their goats, sheep, turkeys, donkey. She led us to the paddocks where the alpacas were, giving us instructions on how to approach them, how to feed them, how to pet them. Most had been recently shorn and Heather provided us with feed and the alpacas eagerly ate from our outstretched palms. They were soft and plush, the females more delicate eaters and the males (separated in a different area) were gobblers. These are animals, not pets, so while they are gentle, they do have wills of their own. It was a warm day and the alpacas enjoyed a spray from the hose. It was funny to see how excited they were to feed (reminds me of my dogs) and they ran after Heather when she got the food. Afterwards, we went to the barn where Heather, a fiber artist, demonstrated how the alpaca fur can be mixed with other fibers, how the wool is felted, and how it can be spun into yarn. There are textiles, yarn, garments for sale. Reservations are required. Sign up for the first time slot. Our tour ran over by 30 minutes and the next group had to wait. It is a picturesque drive to the farm but keep in mind that it turns into a two lane road through country lanes. We had left plenty of time for the drive but with our misdirected turnarounds and some road construction we ended up cutting it close.

It was my first time visiting an alpaca farm, and Heather made it an amazing experience. The tour was very informative. I learned a lot about sheep and alpacas from the owner herself. I had the opportunity to see other animals on the farm as well. Overall, you must check this farm out if you are in the area!

Nice little farm, I was able to get some roving to spin for a good price. We were there for the yarn crawl and it was a really nice stop!

They offer tours of their alpacas and other farm animals. All animals are so well behaved and friendly. It is a mostly guided tour that took us through the parts with the goats, turkeys, and donkey and then into the alpaca section. There are also cats and peacocks. The tour itself was very informative and you could feed the alpacas and spray them with water to cool them down in the summer!

Nice friendly and local visit; all animals are friendly including the staff
About a 45-min would be your time interacting with the animals: goats, donkey, alpacas, sheep to name a few
Feeding the alpacas was a lot of fun and worth the price

I really enjoyed this farm and tour. The tour group size was limited to 15 which was perfect. It was easy to sign up online. The tour was completely interactive with the alpacas and all of the other animals, and was followed by a visit to Heather's studio where she showed us (and included visitors) how the raw wool is made into textile. Heather really cares about her animals and craft, and provides a perfect combination of fun and education. It was very low key and enjoyable. It's a great place to visit!
