I liked this location for the pool. The pool has been shut down more than once by the health dept. The steam room hasn't worked in a year, the hot tub is disgusting. Brown scum on top of the foam. I'm going to find a clean pool.

Worst gym I’ve ever been in Maryland. Poor management. Poor customer service. Machines are old and broken. LA Fitness should prioritize this Gym because of its location. Locker rooms always stink really bad and are on poor condition.

Worse LA fitness you’ll ever go to. Barely any weights, machines always broken, locker rooms look like a high school’s from the 60’s.
I barely ever do a review but this gym is cooked, honestly.

Gym is in very poor condition, not enough equipment (missing dumbells) and dirty. Machines are old and clunky, no bumper plates or good quality bars, no deadlift platform, no hyper extension bench, no lateral raise machine. Both the lat pull down machines are broken for 2 months and the gym doesn't want to fix it.

This Gym is closer to a 1.5 than a 2... The Staff is nice and very helpful but that is about where the complements stop. In the free weights area, the weights and organized, they don't have enough barbells for the racks they have. They have old steel weights and a floor that does not give. Last time i was there the staff came in over the PA system repeatedly saying don't drop the weights. The problem is when you have a metal bar, metal weights and a floor that doesn't give your going to have noise

There are two squat racks. Both are the full cage-style power racks. Just adding this info here so people can know the most important info.

I left a 3-star review a couple of years ago as it was an adequate gym, with equipment I could use at a fair price. However, since then, this place has fallen off tremendously and I don't know where all of our dues are going. Equipment sits broken for months and months on end, the pool was shut down by the health department months ago and is still not even close to being opened again, both lat pulldown machines have been broken for months, there are not enough barbells for all of the benches supplied, nothing is ever re-racked in the right places, There's no proper deadlift set-up, but they have some 50 largely empty treadmills for some reason. The showers and locker room are busted. I have complained about issues to regional management and corporate, but nothing changes at this branch. It is by far the worst LA Fitness I've been too, is way worse than the one in Silver Spring, but it's the only real option in Wheaton.

The place is very nice but the staff they have is so hateful, especially a tall girl with long black hair, that woman's way of being is horrible, they should fire her, it would be best. That's the stupidest old woman

The gym spans two levels. The upper level houses the weight room, a boxing and stretching area, and a small dance studio. However, the weight room equipment is noticeably older and more worn down than any other LAF I've visited. The weight equipment shows signs of heavy use, with bare metal visible in places. Unfortunately, many people neglect to re-rack their weights, leaving them on the floor and creating a tripping hazard. This lack of common courtesy is disappointing.
On the lower level, you'll find the cardio equipment, such as bikes and stairmasters. While clearly well-used, these machines still function as intended. This level also features a steam room, a rarity among local gyms, but it's out of service about 90% of the time. The sauna, too, is frequently out of order. The pool and hot tub are popular with the older crowd during after-work hours. It didnt seem like they checked the chlorine levels of the water during the day so I doubt the water is clean. The locker rooms, however, are not very clean and show their age.
Overall, considering the condition and maintenance of the facilities, I wouldn't recommend paying more than $25.00 per month for a membership at this gym.
