Stopped in early this afternoon to have front brakes replaced on my Tacoma. The sultry Miss Molly said they couldn't do it today as some of the techs are soon heading home. I asked about tomorrow, Saturday, and Molly looked sad and said they were booked. She scheduled an appointment for next Monday. So, I drove down to Heritage Toyota in Owings Mills. My truck's brakes are being replaced right now!! Thanks Heritage and no thanks to the effervescent Miss Molly and Koons.I live in Westminster and this is the second time recently that Koons in Westminster has let me down. I think I'll begin driving past Koons on my way elsewhere. Sad. And by the way, every time I've been at Koons, including inquiring about a new pickup, I see techs running back and forth to the bathrooms, chatting each other up, and standing around reading their phones.

I purchased a 2020 Lexus GX 460 from Koons Toyota in Baltimore in July of 2023. I found the vehicle on line. Brendon , who is a sales person at Koons, had a video on line of this vehicle. It looked good except for some scratches on the front bumper. I contacted Brendon and told him that I would purchase the vehicle at the advertised price if they would repair the scratches and detail the vehicle. Brendon agreed to fix the vehicle and detail it. They don't ship so I flew a friend to Baltimore and he drove the car back. When I received the car the scratches had not been repaired and the car wasn't detailed. I texted with Brendon and sent photos of the area that wasn't repaired. He apologized and promised to rectify the situation. Koons has promised to send a check to cover the repairs but I have not received it. That was 3 weeks ago. They tell me that they sent $150.00. I am not sure that $150.00 will fix my issues? Koons gave me their word in writing that that these issues would be handled before my guy picked up the car. I spoke to Dan Harkins who is a manager at Koons. He said that his body shop could do it for $150.00. I am sure they can but I don't have his connections. He also suggested that I drive from North Carolina to Baltimore and they would do the body work?? I am very disappointed that Koon's did not keep their word and are not offering a reasonable solution now that the vehicle is in N.C.Dean Peterson

Set up an appointment to test drive a Tacoma. Received an email that the truck was available. When I arrived I stood at the showroom looking for assistance. That is a first in my life and I should have taken that as a sign. Finally someone came over and the salesperson I contacted wasn't available. Then they tell me the truck wasn't available either - needed new tires and wipers. But they did have another available to test drive at $6k more. That truck was a terrible drive. Another wait to turn in the keys. Different salesperson took the keys and really didn't seem too interested in whether or not I wanted a car. As I left I circled back in the lot to see the truck I wanted sitting on a set of good-looking off-road tires. So turned out to be a scam all around. Guess I should have read the other yelp reviews first.

A little over 4 years later and nothing has changed, which is not good. I purchased a Toyota Rav4 hybrid from CarMax in December. On May 1, 2023, I broke down on the side of the road and received a Hybrid Failure message. As I have done in the past, I purchased the Carmax Maxcare extended warranty plan.I live in Hampstead, so the closest place for me is Koons in Westminster. I thought I would give them another chance since it had been years since the last time they tried to scam me and was hoping after all of the negative reviews I have seen that they would improve things. I called Carmax to verify everything and was told once again that any Toyota dealership takes the Maxcare plan, however being that the car is still relatively new, it also has the factory warranty in effect, and they will tow it to the dealership of my choice. I called Koons. I was told that they have never accepted the CarMax warranty (even though 4 years ago they absolutely did on my old Rav4 when they fixed my oxygen sensor). I was also told that since I didn't purchase the Toyota extended warranty, I had zero coverage and would have to pay out of pocket for everything. I reminded them that this car is a 2021 and has less than 6k miles on it, therefore, if something is wrong it is covered under the factory warranty that every car comes with (3 years, 36k miles). I was told again that there was no extended warranty, they do not and have not ever accepted Carmax warranties and I would pay out of pocket. So I called Bill Kidds of Cockeysville, which I highly recommend. They assured me that yes, the car still does have the factory warranty and they do work with the Carmax plan, as all dealerships should. She even informed me of some free services Toyota offers for the first couple of years when you buy a car... oil change, tire rotation, etc.Although I can't say whether Koons does good work or not since I didn't let them so much as look at my car, I wouldn't take a vehicle there under any circumstance. If they are going to lie to you about basic coverage information you can find out from a Toyota commercial, would you really trust them to give you a diagnosis and estimate? Run, run far and fast (or at least to Cockeysville)

I've probably bought a half dozen cars here over the last 20 years. I've always felt treated fairly and respectfully; service has been fairly priced and competent. Mary Anne in new car sales is a consummate pro. That said, there certainly is a lot to despise about the care dealership industry. The industry's reputation for trickery and deception is legendary. Everything is an upsell and if you know that, you won't be surprised or frstrated when they spin that stuff out on you. They can't help themselves - its what they do. So is Koons Toyota a perfect business - no. No car dealership can be - its inrinsic to that industry. But a savvy consumer will be well-treated and sold quality good and services at a competitive price. Maybe not the cheapest price - but be honest - sometimes you win the battle and lose the war by storming out over $200 or something. The industry will get you somehow - it just does.

The sales and finance department made purchasing a vehicle quick and efficient. Their online support and readiness to sell sets this dealership apart from most. Thank you for a great experience.

My only interaction with this business was my online request for a part. Wondered if maybe my part request somehow never made it as i never got a response until i started receiving unsolicited spam emails for car sales from this business. Needless to say i will be reaching out elsewhere.

I will start this review by saying I have never purchased a vehicle from this dealership or attempted to. I have had a recalled handled several years ago in the service dept with no issues. I am giving them 3 stars because of this and my experience below. My comment is the advertising. I know in the past year or two dealerships have been very creative with hiding the true price of a car and what makes it up and this dealership seems to be following in that trend.I was looking up a price of a 2023 hybrid Camry XLE. Here is what the site shows.2023 Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE $36,790Koons Price $36,790 MSRP of a 2023 Toyota Camry Hybrid is $33,245. I checked the specs on the advertised car and compared with the spec car and did not see any significant variance. The website has a footnote that the price doesn't include tax, tags, title, registration, electronic filing fee and processing fee of $500 (fluff). The actual Figuring in the delivery cost of approx. $1,050 and adding their $500 "processing fee", that would mean they are jacking up the price over $2,500 over MSRP. I understand that is the norm lately, but by listing the price of the model car then adding a separate line of the "Koons Price" suggests they are matching the actual price of the car and only charging MSRP. Just be honest. Show us the MSRP and any discounts or add ons so we can see where the price comes from. Why do you think most all dealerships get poor reviews. It is because of all of the slight of hand that is going on.

I was looking to sell a car when an ad for an extra $1,000 from koons popped up. I was put in touch with their car sales department. With the 1k bonus my offer was up to 7k. I talked back and forth with them for a few weeks about the car and details about it. After a while my offer was reduced to 5k which included the bonus offer. This was $800 under the kbb instant offer I received from other several other dealers. So even with the bonus I was being lowballed here unfortunately. At least I was told in advance and didn't have to bring my car in and waste more time. I ended up taking my car to apple ford in Columbia who gave me over 1k more than the pathetic offer Koons made. Communication was good which is the only reason I am even rating them 2 stars instead of 1. I'd easily recommend Daniel at Apple Ford in Columbia over this place. Easy to deal with and quick transaction.

Don't waste your time with these people. They are not of their word. Spoke to them by phone and said we were in route however the travel was two hours. Provided all info they needed. They said since we were in route he would wait and set the keys aside. Later called when almost there and said somebody came in and saw it parked out front and bought it. He said first come first serve. They could careless that people make arrangements with others. Take off work and are traveling a distance. They are rather ignorant. But honestly if they can't keep their word there are bigger issues with this dealership. So probably was fortunate. If not honest in one area than dishonest in others.

Had the best experience yesterday. After my car had completely died on me yesterday morning, I came in to see if I could get a new one. Jim, Lance, and Josh set me up for success. They worked with me to make sure I liked the car, had coverage, and it was within my budget! My brother is in need of a car and I will direct him to this dealership, just outstanding! Thank you, fellas!

JUST purchased a "certified used" vehicle from them on 8/27/2022 around 6:30PM. Only made it to I-95 before the car started to lose momentum and I couldn't accelerate. The engine light started flashing and I had to immediately pull over. Called them at 6:59 to let them know and was greeted with "well we are closed and can't do anything until Monday. We suggest you drive it home and have it towed or have it towed from your current location." I'm VERY disappointed in the lack of concern for my well being.

I have always absolutely loved my experience with their sales department and service department...until today...Bob Stoll the Service Manager is rude, disrespectful, and apparently not into doing his job. I recently stopped in regarding a question about paint chipping off my 4-Runner, that I just purchased in January 2022. He was getting ready to leave for the day (1:45pm), when the service advisor asked if he could take a few minutes to look at the spot where the paint is chipping and if my warranty would cover. The huffing and puffing Bob did was similar to that of when I ask my 12 y/o son to take out the trash. Without even a "hello" or "Hi, I'm Bob"...he approaches me and says, "Now, what is your issue?" Geez Bob, sorry to make you do your job! If you had an appointment or needed to leave, I could've easily came back. He quickly tells me, "...he could submit the paperwork, but that's a long process, and he doesn't feel like dealing with it..." After getting nowhere, I parted ways, and told him I'll just go back to the auto body shop and have them fix it before all the paint chips off. He proceeds to call said auto body shop and "warn" the estimator that I'm on my way back, using some choice words to describe me. He also gave the Estimator a hard time for sending me down to Koons to try warranting the paint. I'm really disappointed, I've always had such good service at Koons. I'm a loyal Toyota owner and one reason is for their service department. But after today's experience, strongly doubt I'll be back. I did file a case with Toyota customer care...that guy needs to be held accountable for his poor attitude and rude behavior.
