“I grew up on Atwell Rd used to come here with my great grandmother my mother we grew up around the store the coleslaw and the customer service was awesome we were there 4weeks ago and it’s still the same just like family If you’re ever in Shady side stop by Shady side market get some of those freshly made sandwiches they are off the hook also”

“I think this is a duplicate review… but the Google machine suggested I review this location: this is gotta be one of the best locations in the country. It is easily accessible, it has plenty of parking, it is very spacious inside, very clean, and everything that I want is always in stock. The employees are always very helpful and readily available.
Often as my primary location because of the 365 brand, the butcher, fresh fruit and vegetables and plethora of specialty items.”
“This is the place I go to for most of my favorite snacks. They have a wide variety of items. I can always find what I need. Customer service is good and it doesn't take long to find someone to assist me or answer a question when needed.”
“Best little treasure in edgewater. Very friendly staff, great prices and an excellent place to grab last minute or forgotten items on the way home. They have a huge selection of alcohol.

“Love our Giant, and you can count on good quality and fairly good variety.Management made the decision to close one of two entrances, so currently ( Fall 2023), there's only one way in or out.The newer self-checkout system is so sensitive that we often have to have assistance when our scanned items are not sensed as being "in the scanning area. " (they are..) Very frustrating. Actually impacts where we stop if we're on the way home and need to get a few things.”
“Medium size market with a big freezer case, 4+ aisles, and decent selection. A meat market with fresh cheese and meat. The star is the 1 kilo of fresh tortillas coming from the press and some toasty carnitas from the hot case up front.”
“Can't complain. Prices have been going up but that's everywhere, not just here. The stuff I get from the bakery and produce section are typically in good shape, and the selection overall is great. It's a shame they need the anti-theft measures that they have, but again I can't blame the store for that. Giant satisfies my grocery needs quite well.”
“I have lived in Dunkirk for over 30years and in the first week of October my husband passed away.Things have changed drastically and have been very difficult for me. Sheryl was my cashier and I had told her that my husband usually was the one that did our grocery shopping; but he wasn't with us anymore and I was feeling overwhelmed and out of my element. I shared with her that this was my 2nd time grocery shopping for myself. She was so kind and understanding of my situation. Sheryl even offered her condolences for my dear Samuel. Her kind smile and conversation brightened my day. Thank you. I will continue to shop with Harris Teeter. I see why my Samuel loved to shop here.”

“I like Giant and the ranges of products they sell. Friendly staff. (Thank you Audrey).
Nevertheless at the time of writing Giant need to be more price competitive.
Basic foodstuffs seem comparatively expensive. e.g. bread, baked beans etc.
Some candy very good value for money.
Watch unit costs on all items.
Several large quantity items are sold at a higher unit cost than smaller quantities including some of the candy.
Everything available but shelf stocks in all local grocery stores (not just Giant) are still not as high as pre-covid.”
“Food okay. Very busy and had to wait 15 minutes for a toasted bagel. It happens. Most people I know that go there for lunch have good things to say about the food and service.”

Today when I shopped, my grandson was with me and who I call the Matriach of the Dunkirk store actually remembered him when he was pushing the tot grocery cart and now he's 14 and 6'3". “The only disappointment is that, the manager ? promised me that he would try his best to keep a good supply of TUMERIC GINGER CARROT JUICE WHEN EVER I GO THERE TO SHOP THEY NEVER HAVE ANY ? and it saddens me that I have to go clear cross town to the giant on H st just to purchase it.”
“If you're doing curbside pickup, don't waste your time sitting in the parking lot. 50% of the time there's no one working the counter, so if you don't want to be sitting forever, just go inside and ask for help.”
“Ordered a half sheet chocolate cake with butter cream icing for a 50th anniversary party that was DELICIOUS!! It was very moist. and the icing was a cut above. Everyone loved it. It was beautifully decorated and they provided a nice knife for cutting that worked perfectly.”
“Decent store with friendly, helpful staff. They get an A+, but... not a great selection on a Saturday night, however, for flyer items. Also, there are still those horrible scales at the self-checkout bagging platform. And it was the only option on a Saturday evening for checkout. These scales are so sensitive that you can barely scan one item without the electronic "her" barking at you to "Put your item in the bagging area." It's particularly difficult if you use your own bags. We did, and "she" still shut us down each time. I really feel sorry for the staff who have to deal with this every shift. I like having Weis in town (former PA resident), but please fix or scrap the scales! They are too frustrating to make it worth shopping here.”
“The employees are very friendly, clean & helpful, they have things that you might not fine in other groceries store. If you live close to this store come check them out!!! “THE GOOD-prefer this store over many alternatives for efficient shopping and fair pricing for staples and basics. The staff has always been very helpful and have pleasant attitudes and friendly customer interactions. It would be nice if there were smaller push carts to shop with. Here there are only the gigantic ones offered. THE BAD - The food selection could use some tweaks. Vegetable and fruit selections are limited and uninspired. There is too much floor space and the fixtures don't enhance the merchandise. Many brands offer low salt, reduced fat, options but this store is not on top of it. Recently the direction seems to have changed and not for the good. Half of an aisle of frozen food was turned over to assorted pizza. There is no need for 15 feet of pizza options. There is never anyone who is in the deli capable or willing to custom slice meats or cheese so one must purchase from their limited selection of pre-sliced meats and cheese. God forbid if you want a half or quarter pound of something only packed in 1 lb portions. BOTTOM LINE- what's going on here ? Is it management or corporate that's the issue?”
“I went to this Dollar General for 2 pizzas a pepperoni one and a cheese one. Theu only had cheese so I grabbed a bag if pepperonis so I can put them on the pizza and the cashier only made me pay for the cheese pizza because they did not have the pepperoni pizza. I love this placd”
