The cashiers inside are always very nice but every time I do pick up the employees they have working to bring your food to you are so rude it’s ridiculous!! They cuss and say rude things and take forever to come out with the food when they are just sitting in the vestibule on their cell phones…no one is around to hear it and when you report it to the manager she does nothing to stop it! I will never shop here again! I’m disappointed Safeway this is not ok!

Brought chicken that had lighter fuild in it on it
Took back to store and the manager wouldn’t say what it was cook with but could smell it on the chicken at the HARFORD Road Safeway
Another lady was returning chicken also for the same thing

PICK UP feature is NOT reliable.
DO NOT USE it if your orders are time sensitive or you have no flexibility to move delivery time in a 10 hour time frame.

I am a long time shopper at this Safeway location, but that might change.
This location has moved primarily to self checkout. An employee named Jane appears to be assigned to that area. On my last three visits Jane has made it a point to stand by my side as I check myself out.
Today I observed the same behavior with two African American women where she just stands at a close distance watching to make sure each item is scanned.
Subsequently I used a cashier, but as I exited there was Jane two isles away from a Caucasian shopper who could have been robbing the place blind because no one was watching him like a hawk.
Weis market here I come!

Self checkout doesn’t work well because several items have to be entered by the employees (example today was a watermelon). Stood waiting for a moment while employees talked among themselves paying no attention to the customers. Didn’t feel like yelling over at the employees. When I finally checked out in a traditional line 4 minutes later the help light in my previous self checkout spot was still flashing. Completely oblivious to the job responsibilities. I feel they are nice people but doing the job they are paid for is secondary. Problem could be fixed by eliminating the manual items the clerks are forced to verify.

No cashiers after 10pm. Self checkout only and we have to pay for bags. This is getting out of hand. What sort of sick dystopia are we heading toward. May as well give every customer a W2 if you are going to make us do the work. Self checkout is useful if you have a few small items, but this is just getting obnoxious.
Edit: 8pm on a Sunday. No cashiers. And you still have the gall to charge us for bags while making us perform a job that you are failing to employ your own person for.

I usually come to buy meat at this store and the deli guy named Bryan is always awesome. Always makes sure I leave with the right order and has a great costumer service.

Nina in the bakery is a rockstar. She decorated a beautiful cake for my coworker’s surprise birthday party. The cake was moist and delicious. Really appreciated the decorations and extra care.

So if I buy 4 8oz bags of shredded cheese the price is $7.96. If I buy 1 32oz bag the price is $10.49. what ever happened to saving money if you buy in bulk.

This Safeway is just so exceptionally mid. Never any carts or hand baskets. Staff is nice enough. Feels like a lot of things I can find at other Safeways are usually out of stock.
