Good stuff but very pricy. Five bucks for a quart of not great cider. Two dollar donuts.

Amazing apple pie. I wish that the location was closer to DC so that I could easily purchase another one.

We recently stopped by here and overall were disappointed with the experience. The carton of apples we bought were mealy, there were flies everywhere, and the service at the counter was almost aggressively unfriendly. There are many other places like this in the area that aren't subpar so save your money and go there instead. I think being right off the highway they have guaranteed business, especially in the fall, so they don't really have to try. Next time we'll just keep on driving.

pick you own or just buy fresh apples, berries pears, peaches, plums, cherries, pumpkins, and even flowers that are in season. Delicious baked goods, pies, jams, canned fruits. Plenty of parking, restrooms available. Highway next to it can be very bus y and fast so take your time to merge or joining the road that leads to Westminster.

We had a great time picking our own apples and visiting the store. We bought a chicken pot pie and some apple dumplings which were both delicious. We will definitely be back next year.

If we were into picking our own fruit, we'd come here! Their shop is great for preserves, certain fresh fruit (apples and pears in the fall!) and vegetables, gourds and pumpkins, and butters (like apple butter). We don't come frequently, but we have loved every purchase over the years! Try the Vidalia onion relish!

October 28, 2023 - The Catoctin Mountain Orchard offers a rich family tradition of “ Apple picking” for all those who stop in with their family . . . for over 62 years! Our family with two active little grandchildren enjoyed themselves for a good 2 hours on a gorgeous autumn day along Rt. 15 in Maryland! The open air market started in 1948. Later in 1961, Bob Black & Patricia ( his sister) purchased and operate the 100 acre farm . It’s an amazing success! Bob earned the Apple Farmer of the Year Award in 2020, even has licensed a delicious Gala Apple !Once you select & pay for your apple bag, your family is loaded onto the tractor pulled wagon, and transported to the picking fields. They point out the rows of different types of apples that are ready for picking! Choices include the following apples:Pink Lady, Honey Crisp, Gala, Stayman,Courtland, Empire, Fuji, Evercrisp, etc.I noticed a new growing technique. . . Apple trees tied to a wire, like wine grape vines!Called “ size-controlling root sticks”! Amazing . . . the quantity of apples per tree grown in a confined area, no need for tall ladders! ? ????We had a bag full of apples in 10 minutes!Plenty of time to walk around and explore the play land for kids! Don’t miss their market with fresh baked apple goods! The pies looked delicious! My wife tried the apple slushy, yummy ! Other fruit choices included:Peaches, Blueberries, Apricots, Pears, Grapes, Strawberries, Rhubarb, etc. They grow veggies : Kale, Broccoli, Cabbage, Peppers, White / Sweet PotatoesSo many jams, preserves, apple butter, etc.Their hours 9 am to 5 pm 7 days a week!(Closed February, March, April)

Catoctin Mountain Orchard is a great place to purchase and pick your own fresh produce. I've visited for several years to pick apples and have had a great experience each and every time. A tractor takes you to the picking sites and the staff members provide thorough directions. The apples are absolutely delicious and I was able to bake some great treats with them. The Orchard also has a store where you can buy a wealth of produce, baked goods, beverages and other treats - the apple cider slushies were very popular. The apple cider donuts never disappoint; they're a guaranteed purchase when I visit. If you're looking for a fun weekend activity with your family, friends and loved ones, Catoctin Mountain Orchard is a great place. Just be sure to visit the website to see what is in season if you want to pick your own fruit.

I've lived in the area for over 35 years and this is one of the best orchards around for selection and their store. Others have more kids' fall activities, but this one has a good variety.

The store is set up horribly, very cramped. I was standing waiting my turn to get some apple cider donuts and when they put some out on the table someone that wasn't waiting walked up and grabbed all the containers as soon as they were put out. The pumpkin pyramid was cool.

We were passing through and saw this place on the side of the road. I'm so glad we stopped! The apple cider donuts were very delicious! I had heard they are a must try. The displays and photo ops were awesome!
