“Large and spacious hardware store in the old school sense. The staff is knowledgeable like Fragers of yore without the crowded piled aisles. The rooftop garden is a work in progress, but the space should prove incredible before long.Nice tool selection, garden section is adequate but slightly slim on choices, the upstairs has a little bit of everything else.”

“Relentlessly helpful and plain spoken, I've asked a few things that they weren't sure how to answer, not many but a few. I know they weren't certain because they told me, I am not sure about that and don't want to give you bad advice. Go. Go again. They want to make your life easier and they succeed.”

“Love this store. It can be a little pricey but they have everything you need. A wide selection of random things: vintage candy, classic toys, and party, kitchen, and school supplies. The list goes on!”

“I purchased a large mirror that came with the incorrect screw size and it's been challenging trying to find the correct size to fit the mirrors hardware. I came in on Thursday (02/29/24) and again today (03/03/24). Will helped me on Thursday and while the screws didn't fit, he was wonderful. Today Bill helped me out and I can't say enough good things about him. I haven't tried the screws out yet but either way, their assistance was greatly appreciated and very helpful.”

“Edit: credit where due, they went out of their way to reach out and try to figure out a return option after this happened. It is much appreciated! It’s a typical Ace. Half the people who work here act so bothered that you’re interrupting them at the cash register to check out. Been bugged a few times but writing a bad review because they wouldn’t let me return a $75 product because the cardboard box it came it was partially ripped on the top flap (“unsellable”).”

“I love this place!  To the casual observer it appears to be three neighborhood shops. Once inside, you find it's the Winchester (2018) house by Beetlejuice (1998) They have just about everything and it's an adventure.I can't list all you can find there, not sure I've seen it all.  If DiCaprio visited Home Depot in Inception (2010) this would be it.The staff is great and can almost always find a solution. It's a neighborhood gem”

“They are always helpful and very professional and knowledgeable about the different professions. It's far better than sitting in Harry Homeowner/ Home Depot for two hours to get a box of screws lol !”

“Love this Ace Hardware, everyone is so helpful and kind. After several failed attempts of copying my condo key at other hardware stores, Ace was the one place to get it right. Such great customer service, this is my go to hardware store!”

“What an awesome place! Don't let the name confuse you - they don't just sell door closers (and dam, they have a lot of them) - they carry many security products and low voltage as well as locks.Mike, the sales rep was awesome and was willing to wait for me couple of minutes after closing as I needed an item (that non of the other suppliers in the DMV had in stock locally) to finish a job.Another big plus is that buying from them you support a local business.Thank you guys”

“About three years ago I had the pleasure of meeting a kind gentleman who worked in the downstairs grilling area of the store. We chatted a bit and I eventually purchased a grill. One of my first jobs as a youth was working at a local hardware store. So seeing all of the familiar odds and ends made me feel a bit nostalgic. I always have supported local business and took it as a sense of local pride that my phone number is among those listed as a frequent customer. So if you want to support local business that supports it's local community, this is the place to go. So.... why not 5 stars then? (Warning: Reading and Feelings Involved. They are a great shop with great staff in the following has no bearing on how I feel about their services, competency, or policies) Well, as someone who has worked retail, and works in the business world, I am a fan of communication and the appearance of customer service, even if you're telling the customer something that they do not like. I was in the market for some fire starters as I am taking my younger kids on a camping trip. I happened to arrive at 5:59. The store closes at 6:00. As I approached, I noticed that the door inside was being unlocked to let out two people, then the door was locked behind them. The store closes at 6:00. I attempted to make eye contact with the individual locking the door but failed at that. Another gentleman from inside walked past the front door and I said "Oh, I was late, sorry." and he made no eye contact, or didn't hear me, or knew they were closed.... something. But that interaction, or lack thereof made me feel as though I was encroaching on their time. Which I might have been. But from a customer service standpoint, and from my perspective, I would have appreciated a "Sorry, we are closed" verbally. They didn't have to do that, but it would have been nice. I think I've seen maybe one too many movie where someone goes to a place for assistance, and the townsfolk obviously lock the door. They don't know if I was going to say I left my car keys there or whatever. It just didn't feel right at the time. Long story short. Great store. I found what I needed at the grocery store, but I wanted to spend my money with them. Oh well. No love lost.”

“I love this place! While I hate having the good folks who work here slave over my frequent piddling requests for a matching bolt or two (anyone recall the search for a metric equivalent to a #1 that was 2mm in length?) I always buy my bulk nut and bolt purchases here to compensate. THANK YOU!”

“I received outstanding assistance from a Home Depot Associate named Ed in the Electrical Department. He explained all of the options to me, showed me products that may be relevant, and then went the extra mile and answered every single one of my questions. Ed made me feel like I was a valued member of the Home Depot community, and that made an enormous difference to me during my shopping experience. Can't wait to return and shop here again!”

“This is a small neighborhood hardware store but they keep an impressive array of hardware, tools, paint, garden, and "lifestyle" items for most DIY projects. Where the big box stores are geared to accommodate contractors, Annie's aims for the individual and their residence. Staff is always friendly, the store is well staffed for their size so there's always someone available for questions or assistance. I really appreciate a hardware store that can still operate in the neighborhood without leveling 15 acres. Factoring in my time and general frustration with large box stores, the prices for a quick trip down the street are competitive with other options.”

“I've ordered a lot of welding supplies through the Airgas Hyattsville location for my welding class at University of Maryland, and they are the absolute easiest to work with. Bernie is not only a top notch employee, but also a great all around guy. He has always been able to help me with any questions I have and I'm so thankful for his service.”

“This is NOT a corner hardware store, this is the place for contractors to go to buy a ton of what they need for a large job. Don't walk in to buy one screw or one pipe clamp. That said, they're good guys in there. Super knowledgeable, very helpful.”

“My goal is to patronize BIPOC businesses and Wheelers Ace is just that. I was able to purchase a grill online to pick up in store. It was available as stated, I was notified in a good amount of time and the pick up process was seamless. They check identification, which I'm happy about, as so many places these days simply take you at your word and don't. With high price items, it is a must. Staff helped to load the item and off we went. I will definitely patronize this location again.”
