Complaint against BB&T Bank 3/18/2021 My wife is repeatedly being asked questions from a bank teller when she does her banking there at the BB&T Bank in Gettysburg, Pa. These questions seem very odd as they are not the usual "Hi how are you today?" sort of questions. They are of a "Prying nature" as more personal, questions about where you work, what you do there, why are you no longer working there, well I still see lots of cars parked outside there, etc. After several occasions of this happening, my wife requested an in person meeting with the Bank Manager, in which I (the husband) also attended. After this had occurred several times, my wife told the teller that her questions were a bit unnerving, uncomfortable and personal in nature and she needed to stop asking them. My wife then put the shoe on the other foot so to speak asking the teller a few questions about herself and then asked her if she felt her questions made her feel at all uncomfortable and if she felt the questions made her feel like my wife was "Prying" and she said yes. The meeting was set up by the bank mgr. for today, Thursday March 18, 2021 between 1 and 2 PM. This day was chosen because I also needed to be there and it was my day off from work. We arrived shortly after 1 PM. We had our cell phones with us which had all the back and forth emails so we could refer to them during our meeting as to who said what when. It was clear on the day and time the meeting was set that the bank mgr. would have the teller come into the office so my wife could ask her face to face about her questioning every time she goes to the bank wanting to have the opportunity to look her in the face as she answered my wife's questions in front of both myself, my wife and the bank mgr. We were also wanting to find out if she were just "Prying" or if the questioning were "Racially Motivated" as well since my wife is of African American decent. After we had a seat in the bank mgr's office he begins it is "Bank Policy" that he take notes on everything pertaining to the complaint and NOT have the teller present at the meeting. Isn't it funny how the "Bank Policy" changed since we first agreed to the meeting and who would be attending. The meeting did not go well after that and in the end it seems the bank mgr. would rather have us REMOVE our money from his bank location then to have the teller be a part of the meeting.
