The Smokehouse never disappoints! The level of sophistication from the service to the menu, for which the chef creates/customizes each day, is phenomenal. The staff are extremely friendly and make you feel welcomed. The smoked old fashioned was perfect, along with the entire six course meal.

Easter Brunch was wonderful... We love coming here for special occasions. My only complaint would be in the desserts: The Chocolate Pavlova was unsatisfactory and very disappointing!!

A wonderful evening. Antrim never disappoints. Tge food was exceptional from the hand passed hors d'oeuvres to the chocolate creme brulee dessert. The wine pairings enhanced each dish and the service was exemplary.

Everything was wonderful - from the ambience to the service to the food! It was a great experience to celebrate my 70th birthday! I highly recommend The Smokehouse Restaurant at Antrim 1844 for a special celebration!

The Smokehouse has been one of my favourite restaurants for many years. It was a Birthday celebration idea, and I am thrilled I thought of this place. We stayed at the beautiful Antrim 1844 (do so, as it's a wonderful place to relax after dinner). We had a steak tartar, as a chef's treat, and then the magic started: the chef showed his talent! I enjoyed the fact that his creativity did not go into "what is this foamy stuff on something we don't know what?": the sauteed mushrooms were delicious, and the salad was fresh with outstanding grapefruit dressing. The main course I selected - duck - was tender and plentiful, not microscopic in size, like in many other places you would get these days. The sommelier recommended 100+$ bottle of wine, which was not good, as much as we tried to like it. We sent it back, and chose a different Pinot (the sommelier said now we are on our own :)) - We chose Croix Pinot and loved it. Desserts were large - they don't make their desserts at the restaurant, we were told - still, my cheesecake was very good. Please, stop in at the bar for after dinner Port or Sherry and enjoy the ambiance near the original fireplace. Excellent experience (we did not dwell on the sommelier tactics!) Life is too short for that:)

This is our 3rd time dining here. It never disappoints. The smokehouse has amazing food, the staff is polite and attentive. This place is highly recommended. This will not be our last dining here.

Special early Valentine dinner but we try to dine at the Smokehouse several times a year as nothing compares. We love the feel of the old mansion and the way we are treated by the staff. The courses are always presented well and taste delicious!

My husband and I had dinner here twice within a month (I know, lucky us). The first visit there were only four tables filled. Second time, there was a business dinner happening in the room next door so obviously it was louder. This was not disturbing at all. Let me start by saying that this is a special occasion restaurant. It's actually an experience. We were. met by our server, Ali, at the hotel desk. She took us to the beautiful sitting rooms and we enjoyed cocktails by the fireplace. The smoked Old Fashioned was excellent. We asked if we could se the wine cellar and Ali was able to take us downstairs to see the wine collection which is extensive. She took pictures for us and gave us some history of the facility. We were then taken to our table in what was the original kitchen. The fireplace was roaring which made for a wonderful winter dinner. We chose four courses and we were given appetizers, amuse-bouche and intermezzo (sorbet). We had a variety of the dishes, Romaine salad, mushrooms with celery root puree, Filet, pork chops, cioppino, cheese plate and chocolate torte. Everything was excellent! We had a variety of wines with dinner as well. I would recommend this place any day of the week!

The Smokehouse at Antrim 1844 is now one of my all time favorite dining experiences. I was in town for business from Idaho and stayed at Antrim so I popped in for a quiet solo dinner. My server, Greg, was extremely knowledgeable and provided excellent service. The ambiance was cozy with a warm fire that was well tended. The environment was quiet. Every single item I tasted was excellently prepared and expertly paired with an amazing wine. If you are in Taneytown for any reason, the Smokehouse is a must.

We always enjoy our stay at Antrim and dinner and breakfast at the Smokehouse. It is a multi course dinner and while wine pairings are extra, they are well worth it. Service is superb! The food is delicious. Great for a special occasion.

We were celebrating our Anniversary! We sat at the bar where we were served the hors d'oruvres until our table was ready. It was relaxing till that point —our server seemed to rush things from there on . The food was good, not great and the wine pairing was just bland! It worked better last time when the sommelier recommended a wine. It is a lovely setting but was disappointing this visit!!!!

The food was spectacular! From the preparation, presentation and service, I can't compliment the chef and staff enough. It was a fantastic experience and worth every penny. We will be back.

This was one of the most wonderful dining experiences we have ever had. The food was amazing, and the service was perfect. The dining room, and the entire building, are magnificent. I will 100% for sure be back.

Looking forward with great anticipation to our first visit to Antrim. Our experience however was disappointing. The venue was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The servers were attentive and very cordial. However, our entree selections disappointed us. I had the pan roasted halibut with garlic confit and dashi sauce. The sauce completely overpowered the flavor of the halibut. My wife selected the filet mignon. The steak was good but not exceptional. The accompanying smoked potatoes were so strong with smoke flavor that they were not pleasant to the taste. I noticed that several other tables had not eaten their potatoes also. Overall, we were disappointed with our dining experience especially when considering what you pay.
