The lady working there this Saturday morning is THE worst. Awful customer service. She made a ridiculous scene to make a point about people not preparing packages at home before coming to the post office after all I asked her for is a piece of tape THAT SHE WAS ALREADY USING IN FRONT OF ME. She told me I’d have to buy my own tape after just spending $8 to return something. This is so outdated considering UPS, Amazon, etc don’t require wasteful pre packing. Besides the unnecessary dispute over a piece of tape, her attitude was uncalled for.

I had an incredible experience with this post office last weekend that I want to share. I had called the customer line because a package's tracking information had been marked as delivered the day before, but they the status reverted to distribution center that morning. I was told that it is a system issue that packages get marked as delivered and the current status was correct, but she was unable to tell me why it was sitting at the distribution center (Takoma Park post office) and not out for delivery, so she put in a claim ticket. About 15 minutes later I got a call on my cell phone and it was the supervisor at that location, Ms. Foxx, asking if I had received my package. I told her that I had not and then she had Ms. Lee check in the packages on site and they located my package. This was 4:45 p.m. on a Saturday, so it was apparent it wasn't being delivered that day and it was a gift for father's day the next day. I asked if I could pick it up and was told that I could, if I got there in the next 15 minutes before they locked the back loading door and left. I made it and they both helped me load the large, heavy box into my car and absolutely made my day/week/year. The company that I purchased the gift from through Amazon had decided to ship via the slowest and cheapest means, so I couldn't blame the postal service for the package having not arrived, but the level of customer service to call me directly and then help find a solution was beyond my wildest expectations. Please do give the overworked staff at this location a break when you are frustrated with the long lines, as my experience there has been that they are always professional and do their job very well, even when they don't have a second to catch their breath in between customers.

Have been to this location a couple of time before and have always had some kind of issue with the customer service. Today the woman at the front really outdid herself by being racist. She was ringing up a gentlemen that did not speak english and she was extremely rude to him and made racist remarks. She told him to press no on the keypad and when she realized he did not speak english she very rudely said "no english" the gentlemen said no english and she laughed and rolled her eyes at him then proceeded to say to make passive aggressive comments while trying to "help" him. I'm sure this isn't the first or last time something like this has happened. I was not able to get her name but she wears glasses, has gray hair and had her hair in a updo

Lee Jane is RUDE & Nasty. & so is the other girl that was working with her on Wednesday afternoon 1/31/24. No one greeted me when I walked in just gave me a crazy look. She has no customer service skills. & proceeds to go back & forth with customers. Do better. Treat people the way you would like to be treated. She should be fired. ??????

Terrible. She tried to make me pay for an entire roll of tape and said she didn’t have any when it was sitting right beside her. Racist. Went down the street to UPS and they handled it no problem. Didn’t have to pay for an entire roll of tape to get it closed lol

Constantly marking packages as delivered when they haven't been, then deliver within the next few days. What's the point of having tracking if you're just going to lie and then keep me from knowing when my package will get here. Stop overworking your employees, I would rather just be told my package is delayed.

There is no post office in the DC area that is friendly, fast, and reliable…you only get to pick 1 or two of those features.Honestly the reason this post office is a decent one is because of the easy to access parking lot.It is one of the slowest stores though - so be prepared to wait. The staff is usually friendly or they just look like they’re exhausted and don’t have as much patience. It’s rare to see more than one person working the counter - hence why they’re slow and could possibly be a bit irritated.I personally ALWAYS get a receipt for everything - even dropping off a pre paid package. Over the last couple of years I’ve had quite a few stamped letters lost, and a few packages (that I didn’t get receipts for).This post office is usually pretty clean though.It’s also next to a coffee shop so you can reward yourself for the long wait to get that one stamp.

Stolen packages, packages delivered opened, and all of a sudden no photos on deliveries. My packages are definitely being stolen and it has been reported to the local police office.

Went this morning to send a package and the worker helped me pick the cheapest box option and helped package it up and was really nice. There was $2/hr metered parking around the corner.

Got yelled at for not filling out a form the right way instead of instructed how to correct it. Got yelled at when I mistakenly used priority mail tape for a first class package (I did not select the label, i was just dropping it off). Got called sir when I’m a maam. The experience was so hostile that I was kind of in shock afterwards.For years I’ve had no issues with this office - I even have a PO Box here - but today I must have gotten one of the longtime employees on a bad day, because it was truly horrible. Many of my friends have told me about their bad experiences and horror stories from this branch, and I never believed them. But now I’m avoiding this place like the plague, and closing my PO Box as soon as possible. I can’t quite give them one star because they’re still an office that handles mail somewhat effectively as far as I know, but they need to work on customer service
