The hardware folks always seem up for a challenge and indulge my kluge problem solving. The lady in the outdoor plant section is brilliant. The cashiers are knowledgeable and helpful with the ACE app. The supply yard is well stocked and easy to load. It's well worth a couple of extra bucks and miles to go to the Kensington Strosniders.”

“Zimmerman's Hardware is 1 1/2 hours travel time from my residence. Number one, the reason I shopped that far away is because they were the only retailer within reasonable driving distance that had the product in stock. Number two, as advertised they texted me when the product was ready for pick-up. Number three, the product was ready for my arrival as per stated procedure. The store appeared well organized and clean. I wanted to browse a little, but I was short on time. Hardware stores are all but gone in my area because the "big department stores" have under cut them which is a shame, but this store got my attention.”

“We are renovating our basement and needed new kitchen cabinets. A friend recommended community forklift and we were soon lost in a huge warehouse of all things home related. Pros: great selection, fair prices for the most part, interesting and unique items. Cons: all the kitchen cabinets sets that they had were too expensive, too beat up or too large for what we needed. We still left with a $20 ( yes you saw that right!) nearly new mini fridge for the office and a wonderful living room chair. Overall great experience.”

“This Tenley store which is tucked under the Target has become my ‘local’ Ace. Sadly we lost our Ace in Woodley Park. The staff are helpful & friendly. On recent trips Juan & May both helped me find what I was Looking for in the store’s tight aisles. The store is is only a bus or train ride away, and is dog friendly!”

The staff is knowledgeable like Fragers of yore without the crowded piled aisles.The rooftop garden is a work in progress, but the space should prove incredible before long.Nice tool selection, garden section is adequate but slightly slim on choices, the upstairs has a little bit of everything else.”

“Strange review here, but I am a 20 year old female and my headlights both went out at the same time traveling at night. I live about 3 hours away and I stopped here for help. I arrived 25 minutes before close and every worker came out to help me with my car. They spent about 45 minutes checking my fuse boxes and headlights as well as charging my phone. The workers here are more than kind and extremely willing to help a stranger in need. I recommend Glen Echo Hardware store for all of your needs.”

“A fantastic place honestly, called to talk to them about fixing my dryer, though they didn’t have what I needed I thought I would have to buy a whole new dryer but speaking with the owner I was able to find out what part I needed (which was just the belt) and only needed to spend 8 dollars vs HUNDREDS for a new one. I love this store because even tho they may not have what you’re looking for they always put their customers and their customers pockets in mind”
