The technician that installed my device for the alcohol blowing go intentionally in my opinion obviously because I’m stating it ,made it loose connection because they didn’t like the fact that I told them it was having mechanical difficulties in my car. I would not recommend this place for anything.Service: Electrical

John at Island Transmission is a beast. I had to replace the CVT transmission in my 2020 Toyota Corolla, and these things were not easy to find. John was flexible in working with me financially and we had gone through 2 transmissions. (1st one arrived damaged, 2nd one was throwing a code) then 3rd times the charm! We finally get a working one! Throughout the process the John was in constant communication and I cannot thank him and his services enough for his work. I plan to use his services for any future transmission work. Highly recommended!Service: Transmission

This company installed my Intoxalock incorrectly. It has had many problems and has been replaced a week ago, after being told that my cars safety features have been disabled, and anytime you have a problem when the equipment has been installed improperly they will tell the consumer, me, that we must contact Intoxalock first, to get a repair order, For them to correct their problem, being improperly installed initially. They will avoid taking any responsibility for their own shortcomings or improper installations. A recent encounter May 10th b via John, ( I was informed that there was no proof that the installer did not tighten the handheld device to the cable ), therefore it was my responsibility to contact Intoxalock to get my lockout reading refunded. All these people are doing is collecting money gaining revenue from people that have had to utilize the equipment from the manufacturer intoxalock, by calibrating the system once a month and charging $20 to calibrate it. They will not get their own work orders from the company, even when it's their own mistakes. They will blame it on the equipment or that there is no proof that their installer made the mistake. For nine months I have removed the handheld device from my cable to the Intoxalock, and never had a false reading. After the installer re-installed a brand new unit which I got the repair order for him to do, he did not tighten the unit to the handset and caused a lockout notification which is a $75 charge to unlock. Again the people that installed the Intoxalock refused to take responsibility to get that charge reversed because they ( John , Island transmission) stated there was no proof that the installer didn't tighten the cable. We as the consumers need to have the people that are installing these items in to our cars ,make them more accountable, and take responsibility for their financial gains of installing equipment into personal cars without pushing off the problems for the user to contact " Intoxalock", to the consumer.

I took my car to multiple places to find what was wrong with it and each only had somewhat of an idea of what was wrong. They directed me to this one place and that place doesn't take my car and I thought I'd have to go to the car dealer for help. But then I found Island Transmission. They found exactly what was wrong with my car down to the detail. They were quick with it and, when we found out my car's repairs would be too expensive to put money into, they worked with me and didn't try and scam me or anything into getting repairs, giving good advice on what to do. They are the nicest company I've been to for repairs, especially in the end process. 100% would recommend to people with transmission issues.

Not only do they do good work, but they are 100% honest about what the problem is, how to best go about fixing it, and always set you up with the best parts they can. And when you depend on your vehicle for work, that really matters. Went out of there way to get done a ridiculous amount of work on my truck in order to get it to me in top shape before the day was over. On a Friday no less. Great guys too.

We use Island Transmission for all of our vehicle and boat repairs. They are extremely knowledgeable and have excellent communication. They're always going above and beyond to cut costs and keep maintenance affordable. We are thankful to have such an awesome shop in such a close proximity to us. Truly the best repair shop experience we've ever had. We will undoubtedly continue our patronage here!
