This wasn’t our thing, but we certainly can’t complain about how we were treated and how hard the captain and mate worked. It wasn’t clear when we booked that we’d be trolling the entire time and taking turns with 11 other people reeling in. It seems like they have a lot of regulars on the boat. Some of them take it way too seriously and really made it not enjoyable. The boat is clean, modern and comfortable though and we enjoyed being out on the water.

As usual, another Great day on the Bay w/Luke & Chris. The put the work in and put us on the Fish. We were able to have a nice catch. The catch of Blues an some Spanish Mackerel was nicely Fileted. We enjoyed our ride on a clean and comfortable boat! Looking forward to the next time.

If you are looking for a good shot at a trophy rockfish, this is where you need to go. Captain Luke and Daniel know what to do and where to go. Very friendly and knowledgeable from the reservation process all the way through to the fish cleaning at the end. They made every effort to get fish and today it paid off with a monster 48” rockfish, weighed in at 42.2 pounds. I will definitely be back out!

We have been fishing with Luke and Danny for years. They are fantastic fisherman and great guys! I highly recommend using them for a great chesapeake bay fishing trip!

This Captain does put you on fish most of the time. However the customer service experience is below the bar. I have been fishing with the same guy for five years, even during the spike in price during COVID, same fake lures and rods, why the spike in price, but that’s another story. Any way people work for people, people fish with captains. I will not return to his boat again. Customer service is everything to me and the way I feel when I get off your boat.

We rented Captain Luke’s boat for a private family fishing trip. Our group included four adults and two kids, including a 6 year old. Without any consideration of others, Captain Luke smoked cigars the majority of the time, including when our kids were inside the cabin trying to cool off from the outdoor 90 degree+ temperature. He also smoked while we were fishing and when we he was driving. In addition, Captain Luke also played loud music, while we we fishing. Both his cigar smoking and loud music were very annoying to us, especially our kids. When we got home, we all smelled like cigar smoke. In our opinions, Captain Luke was very rude, inconsiderate and disrespectful to our group. Had we known in advanced that he would be smoking inside the cabin and with the door opened we would not have hired him. According to his website, smoking is not allowed inside the cabin. While this was our first time fishing with LJK Outdoors, we do about 3 fishing trips a year. While we caught lots of fish, this was by far, the worst overall experience we’ve encountered with character fishing in more than 8 years.

Instead of accommodating his paid passengers, he focused on himself. Both his cigar smoking and loud music were very annoying to us, especially our kids. When we got home, we all smelled like cigar smoke. In our opinions, Captain Luke was very rude, inconsiderate and disrespectful to our group. Had we known in advanced that he would be smoking inside the cabin and with the door opened we would not have hired him. While this was our first time fishing with LJK Outdoors, we do about 3 fishing trips a year. While we caught fish, this was by far, the worst overall experience we've encountered with character fishing in more than 8 years. Never again will we hire him.

Trophy fail. Fishing empty waters on the fish finder. they didn’t even try. Waste of money but good view of the water
