Worst customer service ever. Don’t bother going in. It’s as if you (the customer) is wasting their time. I came in to drop off a small package which was already sealed but I did not have tape for the label I printed at home…. They looked at me like I was bothering them and told me I needed to PAY them to use their tape. They might as well have asked me to pay them to be there - what type of business (especially a mail delivery business) asks their customers to pay to use 4 small pieces of tape. USPS has horrible customer service and a horrible business model.

My packages rarely get delivered and getting someone on the phone at the Thayer location is impossible. I finally just threw in the towel and reported them to the regulatory commission.

Have been calling the location for 30min with no answer, my package was returned to sender just bc there was no name in the box and it’s honestly frustrating bc with if there is more than one person living there. The package is time sensitive and I can’t even see about it being re delivered before it’s sent back. Maybe in person experience is betterUPDATE:Was provided the wrong -# by customer service when I called to let them know no one was answering they gave me the correct #. Once I called I was helped right away not sure who I spoke with but he was so helpful. He went to check for the package and got it redelivered to me the same day.

Homeless persons at times in the lobby. It's very scary entering this facility early in the morning to find someone sleeping by the mailboxes and not knowing what kind of mental state they are in.

Note: this was when the Post Office was at 900 Wayne Ave.Visited on 10/15/2014, to check on the postage I had applied to a large envelope. There were 3 people in line ahead of me. A postal employee walked back through the line, looking for people who could be helped with the self-service machines. He helped me verify my postage and then accepted my mail.Very helpful. Exemplary service. Nothing to complain about.

If you're looking for a post office that has accessible parking, best to choose a different location, maybe Kensington. Not here, no way. What were they thinking?!

Full service post office with limited parking on Thayer street. I needed to mail a care package. I walked in and was greeted by someone who worked there who offered to create the shipping label for me using one of their self-service machine. Less than 5 minutes after waking in I was walking out. Great service! I’ll come back.

Utter ridiculousness! I have literally called the office 21 times during regular opening hours today and nobody answers the phone! The customer service at the post office is despicable!

What should've been a routine drop off for a customer who purchased a dress from my Poshmark closet turned into a nightmare. I had printed out the prepaid priority 2-day shipping label from my email and got the priority mail box from the counter area to ship my item to the customer.I had the label taped on the box and sealed when it was my turn to reach to the counter. The associate told me she couldn't take the box because of the way it was closed and asked me to find another box to put the item in. Usually, I would put my items in gift boxes and the medium flat rate boxes wouldn't close in a perfect rectangular way but it was still accepted since it was sealed and protected. I never had this problem before.I had to wait about five minutes before she returned and I told her that I couldn't find another box to fit the package in since the large priority mail boxes were out of stock. But she still told me she couldn't take it and that I had to buy a brown box in order to ship it because the label wasn't made for the priority mail boxes. I struggled to keep my composure as I told her I didn't have any money and that the large sized priority boxes were out due to using my funds for the gift box and wrapping for the customer who ordered the dress. She then proceeded to tell me that my label wasn't accepted for the priority mail boxes (even though it was a prepaid label) and told me to come back to ship it in 24 hour self service.Next thing I knew, I slammed the box on the counter and stormed out.I NEVER had this problem before. My shipping label was prepaid since it was Poshmark and the priority mail boxes were required to be in use for things like this. To be told that I had to buy a brown box AND pay for shipping even though my shipping label had prepaid postage was totally unexpected.I realize that me slamming the box on the counter in front of the associate and the guests was uncalled for, but she should've seen that the label had prepaid postage and that priority boxes were the only ones that could be used for Poshmark purchases if I wanted the items to reach the customers on time.I don't think I'll ever set foot in this post office ever again, not after this experience.

Great post office. Irving is spectacular. Great engaging the community and performing his job in an efficient and task-oriented manner. I highly recommend this post office if you live in silver spring or northwest DC!

From a very angry New Jersey lady, I am sincerely appalled! WHERE is my package, USPS? WHERE?
