Mulu is an amazing hairstylist. I came to her for a same-day appointment and she took good care of me. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a full-service salon experience.

I've been going to the salon for over 3 years now and usually I like how they trim and wash and set my hair however this last time going I wanted to try something new and get a traditional sew in using the salons human hair brand that they had in stock and the moment that I got home after having it installed in my hair it continued to shed more and more and more and I've only had it in my hair for a little over a month now so I will not recommend you buy hair from there if you do get the style done there then by your own hair because she charged me over $350 for two bundles and the hair is just not worth the money

Some of the ladies are nice, but I would not recommend the salon if you are not fluent in Amharic.
1. I brought my own products and they still used some of their own without asking. I think she even used some shampoo after my deep conditioner.
2. I brought in a luxury brand of shampoo and she used HALF the bottle even when my hair became over saturated with product. (Less is almost always more with hydrating shampoos)
3. She kept referring to my hair as short and it’s not…I thought that was weird, inaccurate, and off putting.
4. They often will use a flat iron (or try to use it) even if you request the opposite.
5. The price varies even if you always do the same service.
Sadly, I just can’t win with salons in the dmv. It just seems like dealing with hair envy and stylists who do what they want and not what you ask is the norm out here.
True bummer here because most salons (esp luxury salons) no longer do roller sets. I will say my hair is so tangles after roller setting here. I wonder if it’s because they’ve (not so secretly) used shampoo to wash out my hydrating conditioner.
Also, when I wrapped my hair and took it out…it didn’t even look like I had my hair done!
Do not recommend!

This is a wonderful salon. Everyone is really nice and attentive to the customers. Mulu has been styling my hair for 2 years and she's excellent!

I loved my time at Semu Hair Salon, I got my hair washed and styled by Mimi. I got in and out very quickly and I loved my end results. My hair was straightened and curled by her she’s amazing.

Mulu is the best hair dresser I've ever had!! I've been to many different salons but have not let anyone else touch my hair since I met Mulu. My whole family goes to her. She's talented, professional, friendly (but not too chatty), and timely. She listens to what you want & makes the style come to life. I highly, highly recommend her to anyone with curly/coily hair.

*Raving over my beautiful luminous hairstyle ?♀️*Ms. Aster is a hands-down impeccable hairstylist. Today was my first time coming to Ms. Aster and Ms. Semu hair salon and the experience I had was amazingly incredible. Ms. Aster assistance pitched in to help her with uninstalling my hair, washing my hair, blow-drying, and braiding my hair (throughout that process it went phenomenally well).Afterwards, Ms. Aster ventured towards installing my sew-in and she did a miraculous job on embarking on my sew in to finishing up my sew-in. Her pricing is super reasonable and affordable.She is also a very good-hearted Christian woman who deeply cares about bringing exceedingly and beyond exquisite services to her customers and community. She delivers an exceptional service to customers etc,.Duration: 2-4 hoursHeads up: there were two unpleasant females there who were resting on their thumbs in the staff room gossiping about the new customers coming there (in Amharic, I understood of enough of what they discussing to “point out this caveat for new customers”). Additionally, I’m sure those customers doesn’t know nor have any prior relation with those workers. So, those workers to just blatantly down-talk them. Paint the business in a bad light/perceives the establishment of employing bad products to represent their business. Lastly, one of the most disturbing things she decided to do was reach out to another customer or employee.Who wasn’t inside of the salon the woman called Ms. Aster and the woman on the phone had the audacity to impose on her new customer(straw that broke the camel’s back). I remain calmed and didn’t engage in such a subpar and atrocious situation (this type of low-rated behavior will prevent good business and have the customers pursuing businesses elsewhere).With respect:Luke 10:29-37James 2:8Overall, I would highly recommend any woman to come to her for hospitable and professional hair treatment services.Betam amesegnlo for hulu ? and egizabher yibarkish ?.

I’m in love! I had an amazing experience at Semu Hair Salon. All the stylists were kind and friendly. The prices were reasonable. Aster did a wonderful job coloring my hair!!! I was super pleased at the end product. She took great care of me and my hair. While I waited, I watched others get their hair done ranging from weaves to children to a blowout & style, and they all turned out beautifully. It’s hard to find stylists who can handle my hair at times, but they knew exactly what to do with my natural hair. I only had my hair colored, however, Aster made sure my natural curls were in place before leaving. Looking forward to my next visit! ❤️Service: Hair coloring
