If all you need is a checking account, this is your place. The branch is just a glorified ATM. The staff have limited knowledge and even less authority and ability.

A review for this pathetic credit union as a whole.First, I have had a loan with them since 2018. It wasn’t easy from the start considering our loan didn’t exist somehow. Then, i was able to make payments over the phone. For 2 years straight. I know sometimes I can be a little unorganized but i always managed to pay. Come COVID, i’m no longer able to make payments over the phone. Bizarre. But luckily at the time I worked right across from a location, thus being able to make them. I tried to make it easier on myself when moving again, and go through the app. Even the damn app won’t let me make payments. And i went through the entire process they told me to. I saw the penny get taken and put in the account, and i still can’t link my actual bank to make payments.Now, my current problem, I moved states. Obviously secu is not here, so now making payments is as hard as possible. After calling and asking how to do it, since i can’t do it over the phone nor online, they said they had a joint branch called Associated Credit Union where I could make said payments. Low and behold I go to said bank, and SECU doesn’t exist for them. They even put in their routing number and said no sorry, we’re not partners with them. So now here I am 2 months late, at risk for losing said vehicle, all because they won’t let me make a payment. Explain how that works.Good luck if you ever wanna work with them! Youre in for a ride!

Worst bank you can ever go to. This guys will lock and put you account on hold for anything over 300 and with their terrible zelle they'll put your account on hold after 250. This guys are super disrespectful had me waiting for 30 minutes. Just to tell me they wont take the hold off my account until they feel like it. Use any other bank dont waste your time on this idiot's.

Horrible. My credit had been impacted because these bozos returned a cashiers check of 30,000$. The check is now missing and they sent me the title to my vehicle. Now they are frantically calling to get their money and/or the title. You can't talk to one department about the others because apparently they don't work with one another. Anyways thanks for the title to my car. Technically I could just keep it and tell them to kick rocks but obviously I want to do the right thing. This bank is terrible. This has been drawn on for four months So someone at the company had the audacity to post their e mail but had still not responded. My credit took a major hit and I call weekly to no avail. I have sent so much paperwork and e mails only to be told okay we will get to it when we have time.

If I could give zero stars, I would! This is the most deplorable customer service situation that I’ve ever encountered in any industry! My credit card was stolen over a week ago. Your so-called website won’t even allow one to report a lost or stolen credit card, which is absurd! And trying to get anyone on your customer service line is like trying to contact someone on Jupiter! Nevertheless response - ever! And the “call-back” services is BS. You NEVER get a call back. I know because I’ve tried - about 10 times!! How do you even call yourself a business with this type of customer service?! So, now I’m constantly checking my credit card balance to make sure that it’s not being used because I can’t even get through to you folks try to cancel the card, much less get a replacement. If I was not concerned about how it would affect my credit, I would cancel this credit card immediately!!

Me and my mother went here today to make a deposit into our accounts. The doors to the bank were closed and there is ONE teller machine in the back hallway outside of the bank. We didn’t feel comfortable because the teller machine is in the hallway of a building with other businesses. People keep walking by.We walked to the front to tell the lady that we wish to come inside to do this transaction. There was nobody inside she told us we couldn’t we had to go in the hallway. After we told her we felt unsafe. She still said no nobody walks through there.5 people have walked by staring at us because we had a significant amount.Also the phone conversation between you and the teller is NOT secure. It’s on speaker. There is a phone but, there is no one out here cleaning the phone after each use.As a SECU customer I am disappointed in this location. They are doing nothing to make customers feel safe.Also there is no security at the desk watching who comes in and out of the building.Unsafe location , not taking precautions.

Never got a notice that my monthly loan payment almost DOUBLED. When I called to inquire about it, I received the information I needed but requested my late fee be waved due to their lack of communication. While trying to achieve this with a manager who I will not name, the call disconnected. Not a big deal, but he never called me back. Not only that, I called back the next hour and left a message. Called the next day, I left a message with his secretary. Called the THIRD DAY in the morning and finally got through to him. His excuse? "I thought you heard me so the conversation ended"...........Are you kidding me? Even if we did, I left two messages that went unanswered. Management, get it together or I'm finding somewhere else I can finance my car even if I have to pay more.

Absolutely DEPLORABLE service! At a time when people need access to their finances and banking services the most, SECUMD is nowhere to be found! Not only are they restricting access to their branch locations, which is understandable given the circumstances, however they have absolutely NO ONE answering their customer service line to provide service over the phones. The only thing customers receive is a voice message telling them to go to their shoddy website and request a call back in a few business days. At a time when the economy is on the brink of collapse and people are wondering how they’re going to make ends meet, we need access to our finances. This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!

Wouldn't let me trade a roll of quarters for cash since i'm not a member. Terrible customer service. why should it matter to have an account just to exchange cash for quarters. Makes Zero sense

I just recently visited the Silver Spring MD location, I was having issues reaching someone over the phone. I came in and spoke with Michael Martinez. Friendly, fast , and very helpful. Best customer service I received from any bank I have ever been to.
