At the checkout today and the cashier would not bag my groceries, even after I asked for help with them. So I had customers behind me trying to pay, I’m still in the way trying to get my bags packed. Then a couple of people later she starts bagging the next person’s groceries. She claim this isn’t discriminatory. Outrageous.

The whole store had a smell like mold or something. I could barely stand it, and the kids were complaining the whole time l. I’m mainly writing this review because I’m concerned for the safety of the workers being exposed to that all day. I hope corporate will investigate and fix it up.

This is the market closest to my house. I've shopped here as needed for over a decade, but I am DONE. Bad enough that the selection is poor ... 22 types of block cheddar, but only one of Swiss? Why? How does ANY grocery in Maryland not know what OLD BAY is? And so forth. The store - admittedly tiny - has been widely referred to as the Soviet Safeway for at least the 30+ years that I've been in the area. But I could roll with all that. I, like many folks, used this store as a glorified convenience market, stopping in when it was the easiest option for a handful of basics. Hardly anyone uses this tiny store for bulk shopping ... a filled, large shopping cart is virtually a unicorn there. So imagine my surprise when I stopped in today and there were no carry baskets. Not even a stand for them. I looked everywhere. Wound up carrying my 8 or 10 items awkwardly in my arms because I was NOT going to use a giant cart in those tiny aisles for my double-handful of items. I asked the clerk if they no longer had carry baskets, and she admitted they'd eliminated them because there was a theft problem regarding them. WTF??? Now, this might be OK if they had a bunch of the very useful little shopping carts that have been popular in the last decade or so. But they have maybe 1 or 2 that I've ever seen. I literally haven't used a cart in that store in YEARS because it's awkward and my items fit easily in a basket. I'm sorry that there's been a theft issue, but that store is PUNISHING ALL IT'S CUSTOMERS over it. So, I'm done. I suspect I will not be the only one.

Kindness doesn't hurt while you have the tap next to you just sealing the package ? it is very hard for you to do . Customer service is going extra miles it doesn't cost you anything already FedEx provides it for customers. The FedEx girl with gray hair this review is only for you and the way you said it speaks so much about you .

They seem to have added more cashiers at rush hour and the lines move quickly. Great to have a grocery store in the neighborhood.

This is a very small Safeway store. It is located at a busy intersection. It has a very small parking lot with angled parking spaces that I find a bit annoying. It has all your food and household items with just some limitations on the size of the packaging and the variety available. The customer service is good, and the employees are friendly. It has at least four checkout lanes and small but clean restrooms. When you are in the area and need to do a lot of shopping or only have time to run in for that necessary item or two this is your store. The prices here are competitive but usually more than those at Lidl or Aldi. The produce is fresh. There's a clearance area in the back of the store that I like to look at. Until next time be kind to each other. @yelpdc #safeway

If you're looking for a mega supermarket, this won't be it. If you need a convenient supermarket with certain limitations, this Safeway is ok. Grocery section - This supermarket is not the size of one of the Giants in the area, let alone a Wegman's. You won't find a meat counter or a deli. It's mostly your basics and selection can be a little limited but it should stock every essential you might need unless you're picky about a specific brand. I have found the staff to be very helpful and friendly and I was not happy when they started to emphasize self-checkout over more open cash registers. Pharmacy - The pharmacy is small but they can get most meds you might need and the staff is very nice. The downside is I think they're understaffed for the volume they get and I have found it very difficult to get someone on the phone when I need to. They also don't always explain things well. For that reason, I keep this as a backup pharmacy but it won't be my main one. Other - There are convenient add ons like a key making machine and a lottery machine. The parking lot is rarely full and it's easy enough to access and park.

Not the biggest of local Safeway stores, and my last few trips have been way more difficult than I'm willing to endure much longer. It's rare that more than one checkout is open, and the selfs are all card only...

Wonderful service. Convenient! A true neighborhood grocer. Don't know what I would do without this store. Helpful pleasant staff and great selection of items relevant to its small sit. footage. Love this store.
