I’ve been here about 4 or 5 times because it is a more affordable salon but will not return anymore after this last visit. The hairstylist did not speak English so she was relying on another co-worker for translation and she completely misunderstood the style I requested. What was meant to be a simple trim and blowout/silk press turned into a very choppy hair cut with no body. She cut too much length off and did not follow the pattern of my layers. At one point she got out electric clippers to trim the ends and it ruined the hair cut. I was very disappointed with the poor communication and poor quality hair service.

On Monday, February 26th I went to Real Dominican Salon only because the Dominican shop next door, Master Dominican Salon was closed. The lady put a perm in my hair. I am 32 years old & have NEVER had a perm in my life. See the b4 pic, that is how my hair looks wet (only water) for 32 years.
I smelled the perm, it was extremely strong, & asked the girl "do you have a perm in my hair" & she answered very "nervously" but there was a language barrier. She then had me sit for 5 minutes, saying she was deep conditioning my hair but I believe she was trying to reverse the effect because she knew she f'd up.
The next day I woke up my pillow was potent with perm, I cried because this was an act of evil. Even my family was pissed because everyone in my life always admired the fact that I've never had a perm!
When I went back to Master Dominican Salon my stylist who normally does my hair was pissed asking WTH happened & I explained to her how I went next door.
Today, is my first time washing my hair MYSELF to see the real results & she really got me. SMH. I wish there was a way to sue for this because I honestly would. I literally give ZERO stars for this place.

They utterly fried my hair. My Brazilian blowout definitely came with a chemical treatment that severely damaged my hair and made it fall out once I washed it. I had to cut my hair off and start over. These women are something else

I love love love The real Dominican! Mary and her staff are all amazing and does my hair so good every single time!!? I just left the salon actually and I love it! Quick, efficient, they listen to what you want, so amazing. I’d recommend them to anyone and especially as a first timer, take it from me! I’ve been getting blow outs since I was in 7th grade, I’m 24 and this is one of the best shops I’ve been too in the area and continue to go to since discovering them a couple years ago.
