I came around 5pm on a Sunday. Store was locked and closed; their hours on the site and on their front door states they close at 6. I did try to call and see if anyone was there, but there was no response.

I want to start by stating that this review is targeted at Mattress Warehouse as a business and exclusive of Jack (sales), who was wonderful and made purchasing a mattress a personal and positive experience. Earlier this month I went in to Mattress Warehouse to purchase a new mattress for myself. Jack was immediately helpful and spent a lot of time talking me through my options. I had explained that I was purchasing a new home, and that closing was scheduled for just three days later. When it came time to talk about payment, it was suggested that I consider financing the mattress and accessories. I stated I was not interested, as I could not have anything impact my credit due to the impending closing of my home just three days later. I was assured that there would be no impact to my credit or any flags as, "we only do a soft pull on credit because it is just a mattress". I was told that it is always a soft pull, and rest assured I have nothing to worry about. I confirmed again this information before agreeing to then finance the mattress and was told that there was a very recent staff meeting in which this was discussed, and the Mattress Warehouse team reconfirmed what I was being told. Joke was on me as the literal second the paperwork was submitted, I received two alerts on my phone, one from credit karma, and one from my bank alerting me to the fact that there had just been a HARD pull of my credit. I showed Jack and again he stated that that information had to be inaccurate as it was only a soft pull. At that point the damage was done. I finished the transaction and left in full blown panic, as my closing was just days away and knowing that the closing could now be negatively impacted. The next day I contacted Mattress Warehouse support, described my situation clearly and was sent to the voicemail of a supposed "supervisor" or "manager" who would need to help me damage control my problem. I left a voicemail and asked for a call back from them as the situation needed to be rectified ASAP and I wanted an explanation of why this happened. I received a call back from Jack, who I never blamed personally as it seemed he was given inaccurate information by leadership. I never received a call back from a manager or supervisor as a courtesy which is why I am writing this review now. I should have trusted my instinct from the beginning and paid for the mattress in whole, so lesson learned. I take full responsibility for even considering a financing option even with false information that should never have impacted my situation. While there is no going back and fixing the impact to my credit or to my closing, if this review prevents one person from having to go through this harrowing situation (as I was told that all customers have been told that financing only requires a soft pull), then I will feel like there may be a tiny fraction of a silver lining. Impacting someone's credit (and closing in my case) and feeding inaccurate information to employees and customers that can be that damaging is shocking, irresponsible, and atrocious. The lack of follow-up from leadership is equally as appalling. Do not come here unless you are amenable to a hard pull to your credit or you are wiling to pay for everything up front. Absolutely unbelievable.

John was very, very helpful. We didn't want to buy a mattress, but we ended up purchasing one due to his exceptional customer service skills. I would recommend my friends to go to the mattress warehouse and ask for John.
