I had never done pilates before working with Heike and it's been so great working with her. She is so knowledgeable and has the ability to adapt our program to exactly what I need each session. I worked with her as a beginner as well as into my pregnancy and it's been so satisfying to see myself progress with her help and guidance. Not only is she a great instructor, she's also a fun person to be around and is both encouraging and motivating as well as kind.

I have been doing Pilates for several years with Heike Yates. She is an excellent instructor, making sure that she is focused on the person that she is teaching at that very moment. Sometimes I go out of town and miss her, and while I enjoy her vacation I am very pleased to get back with Heike to do Pilates! Alice and Steadman

In short, I totally recommend Heike. I started Pilates after hurting my left knee a couple years ago, and she was the best trainer among all I’ve ever had.First of all, she always asks if there is any inconvenience before the start of class, and at the end of class, all of that magically disappears. Besides my injured knee, since I have to work on the computer for a long time, I chronically have pain around my neck and legs. After each session, I felt like my body were about 3cm leaner and 5kg lighter. The injured knee has much better mobility than when taking classes by other trainers. I wish I could live my whole life with the body right after her session.In addition, she had a lot of experience and was observant, so she noticed my wrong habits or posture that I had never known, and gave me tips to break these habits. These tips were very simple exercises, so it was good to do them without attracting other people's attention while taking classes or working. It's already been a month since I left the United States, so I miss her class so much.

I have done Pilates with Heike once a week for many years and recommend her highly. She is an excellent trainer, with a great fund of knowledge about the human body. She has kept my sciatica in check for years, by reading my body each time I come, and changing her exercise plan accordingly. She watches carefully, and ensures that I will not be injured while exercising. Heike is a great diagnostician, and has helped with numerous joint pains over the years. At age 73, I feel blessed to have found a trainer who is knowledgable, flexible, kind, and joyous.

I needed help getting strength back in my legs - I was starting to have trouble with stairs and getting up from chairs. I am proud to say that I have overcome these deficiencies with Heike's help and I am continuing on to increase strength in my upper body as well. Use it or lose it! She's a great partner in my quest.

For years, friends have encouraged me to use Pilates exercises to help my sciatica, but I put them off. I heard about Heike and started working with her this winter and it has been great! She combines an extraordinary knowledge of the science of exercise and the versatility of the Pilates equipment and exercises with a spirit of joyful encouragement. You can't imagine how much fun an exercise class can be; she has a great sense of humor. Class is always fun and I am making more progress than I imagined I would, and I am in no danger of injuring myself with her careful, informed guidance. Her instruction is perfectly tailored to my needs. Her studio is fully equipped. Her capacity as a trainer is much broader than Pilates exercises, and as my needs evolve I am sure that the training program will evolve as well.

I love working with Heike! She is always so positive, gives great feedback, is very responsive to questions and has really made a difference in my level of fitness. I work with her online, and even though we've never met in person, I feel like I know her! She has a great online presence on all the social media outlets, sharing tips, inspirational messages, and fun stuff that happens in her life. She keeps my workouts varied so I don't get bored, challenging but not impossible, so I improve but don't get frustrated, and she is a great cheerleader who always congratulates you on your successes and encourages you through your tough times. I highly recommend her!

I have been a client of HEYlifetraining since March 2015. I started seeing her to whip me into shape for my wedding in October and I plan to continue as a client because my experience has been so great. Heike is a terrific trainer and a great person. She genuinely cares about each of her clients and takes the time to get to know them. This makes her able to tailor her guidance and suggestions that make sense for each particular client's habits and lifestyle. She's both tough and encouraging, and can help anyone of all fitness levels. She has years of experience in the training field and hast a vast knowledge of the human body, so she is well equipped to deal with different injuries and sensitivities. (For me, she's great at giving suggestions and accommodating workouts for the cramps I commonly get in my feet.) I couldn't recommend Heike more highly.
