What a horror show! The most inefficient staff I’ve ever seen (it was four days before I got any PT, if you want to call it PT). And NOISY! The night staff hooted and hollered and sang all night. The food was generally appalling (no choices, eat whatever mystery is on the plate). If you want to get better, AVOID this dump. Kaiser ought to be ashamed!

My grandfather is in this location. He doesn’t look very well taken care of. His skin doesn’t look clean or moisturized. His hair doesn’t look taken care of either. Some patients are in rooms that are meant for one patient. The cleanliness of the facility is not great either. The sheets don’t look clean either. I doubt they check on him to even change him throughout the day.

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE TO THIS "GHETTO" FACILITY! If I could give this "facility" a - 1 I would but unfortunately google reviews isn't set up that way. My mom has been a resident at this place for short term rehab care since late March and it's been a total dissapointment. We should have read the previous reviews before we agreed to admint her here. The staff from the nurses to the adminstrative are LAZY AND INCOMPETENT! Since the day my mom was, admitted, there was NO MEETING with my family to communicate about my mom's treatment plans or the even the duration of her stay, I literally had to go to nursing director and the Rehab manager to get information. During my mom's first few days here, she slipped and fell in the bathroom b/c she was too affraid to push the call button to ask for help! She was reluctant to ask for help because the nurses either have attitudes or take a long time to come to her assist her. I know this to be be true because on more than one occasion I have had to go to nurses stations myself to request help! Another incident was that my mom has/had some type of digestivve issue. I complained to at least 4 people (3 nurses and the nursing "director" twice) before a stool sample was even taken! Till this day we still don't know what the issue is! Lastly, the food . The staff does not care, nor do they take into account the residents diet restrictions. My mom is diabetic, she's hypertenive and she does not eat pork. Well what do you know! Her daily meals are full sugar, sodium fat and calories( For example serving the resident hotdogs and pork n beans?! ). Plus they served her pork chops just last week! IF you love your family member, don't even think about admitting your loved one here!P.S I never met the Cadia's "social worker" until 1 week before my mom was due to be discharged. I couldn't even tellyou her name if I tired. Again NO COMMUNICATION concerning her care plan no assistance with her benefits NOTHING!

DO NOT send your loved one here. I am so very sorry I trusted the guidance of the case managers at Hopkins. They recommended this facility off of a list of several providers - the sheet had many stars beside the name so I thought it would be smooth. WOW it is completely unacceptable. I was there for approximately 1 hr. today to get my mom settled in. Her call button didn't work, they checked her blood pressure only once since she arrived. I left in tears when there was a woman in the hall screaming for help because no one came to help her. It took me 20 min drilling the nurse supervisor for him to realize I wasn't leaving unless he helped. I am getting her out of there immediately.

Thus place should be shut down. Rude unhelpful staff that yell at you on the phone when your inquiring about loved ones. Angry nurses who unplug call bells and don't "have time" to help their patients. Please don't send anyone you know here. They would be better off in a jail cell.

My 81 year old Mother, who suffers from the onset of dementia and pulmonary lung disease, and a host of other medical conditions, was allowed to either fall from her bed (this is one version given), or she fell while being moved (which is the second version given)! Which ever version of events is true - SHE SHOULD NEVER HAVE FALLEN PERIOD! Cadia Healthcare of Silver Spring, Maryland refuses to accept any responsibility for the medical negligence as it relates to this incident! I was called four hours after my mother had fallen, and was told that the reason I was not notified sooner was because "he did not want to wake me at 3:00 am! If that is not the most insane reasoning behind not immediately notifying family when something like this occurs? My Mom was not evaluated by a doctor after her fall, instead we were told that she was evaluated by a nurse who supposedly performed some sort of neurological examination along with other preliminary testing. But is he really qualified? This is one of the questions we have? They knew of my mother's proclivity to attempt to get out of her chair because the nurse cautioned my wife and myself about bringing her back to the nurse's station when we had concluded our visit in her room. Also, my mother's bed did not have bed-rails that should have been used for someone in her condition. They failed to do so! If you have a loved one at this particular facility, I would strongly suggest looking to take your loved one somewhere else!

Do not send your love one here. Employees fight with each other, nothing gets done. Everytime I visit my love one I had to change her because she wasn't dry. Case manager is no help. They will tell you at the last minute when its time for discharge. I wouldn't send my dog here. I ask to change her room due to bed bugs, and nothing happens. No one listened to me. They all act like they don't understand you. Worst place ever. I can go on and on. I can write a book. Hope this helps.

Do not send or let anyone that you care about be sent here. I understand that the industry is short staffed, however for the most part the staff they do have should not be there. Patients sit for an hour+ waiting for help in their rooms, they sit in hallways in transport chairs/beds for hours. I have watched patients sit right outside their own room for more than an hour waiting for someone to help them into their bed or chair (LOUDLY asking for help). Patients are lined up outside the dialysis center to simply sit and wait- for more than an hour. Often they are missing meals because of this and are extremly uncomfortable. The staff do not talk to each other about patients and treatment plans, so one department does not know what the other department is doing. PT staff are not properly trained and hurt the patients. As a family member, the only way to get information regarding the patient is to physicaly track down the staff person you need, and then you are lucky if you can find them! The facility itself is in disrepair, there are holes and gashes in the walls, beds that do not work properly, lights missing, windows that let in the cold ect.If I could give this facility negative stars I would. STAY AWAY

I highly recommend this facility. The care team works hard together to ensure residents receive the highest quality of care. The building is clean, nursing is attentive, and the Food Service Director works closely with residents to make sure their food preferences are heard and honored.

Send your loved ones here if you would like them to end up right back in the hospital. My grandmother went here after her kidney transplant. She is an incredibly happy, grateful, honest woman. Days into being here, she was absolutely depressed, due to the lack of care. For example, when she needed to be cleaned and changed, she rang the nurses station at 7pm, and several attempts later, someone finally came in, AT 1 AM. Talk about being treated like an animal. The inedible, low quality food was just a cherry on top of an absolutely disgraceful and heartless facility. I just hope that my grandmother, who has infections and pneumonia now, will recover. The doctors at the hospital she is currently in even said "oh I would never let my loved ones go there" .. enough said.

The facility has did a big change the customer service has gotten better you can see that the team really cares about there residents. I love walking in for a visit with my loved one and everyone speaks now and makes you feel welcome . The rooms need some updating but for the most part okay. What I also like is that when you come in the door it smells good . Overall I would recommend this center.

NOTE: the recent 5 star review was written by Cadia's OWN chief administrator. Not exactly objective nor truthful.
