Alex is Great guy. 23 year experience always offers competitive price. Even if his shop 50mins away from me. I always travel to him if I have any problems with my car’s transmission.

I came here for a transmission diagnosis, and the mechanic identified the likely cause of the problem within a few minutes and gave me his honest opinion that it was probably not worth an expensive transmission rebuild to fix, because the issue wasn't serious or dangerous. I appreciated that honesty and I would definitely come here again if I had another transmission issue in the future.

I own a much loved 2001 Rialta RV that is no longer in production since 2005. It is a Winnabego cab on a VW van chassis. After 120,000 miles I needed a new transmission. I searched far and wide to find a shop to handle a rebuild. Most wouldn't work on an RV or didn't want to take on the project. I called more than 25 shops.! Luckily I finally stumbled across AmStar and boy, they were a pleasure to deal with! They took my RV for an extended test drive (with me along) and then spent time checking for leaks, transmission level, etc. All at no charge. This was not an easy job as the parts had to be found from various suppliers all over the country. They did the search, obtained the parts and completed the job promptly (along with a 25 year warranty). They kept me in the loop. I only found one other shop willing to do the rebuild but they wanted double of the AmStar price! Nickolas is the customer interface person and is an excellent communicator. He really seems to care about you and your issue. Alex, the owner is hands on at the shop too. He is easy to talk with and has been at this location for years. These guys are hard working proffessionals who genuingly care about their customers. I highly recomend them. Mike Fox

I recently had the pleasure of using AM Star Transmission for a manual transmission rebuild in my 2011 Jeep Patriot. The initial rebuild was done in Sept 2022, and I was pleased with the efficiency and quality of their work. However, less than four months later, one of the transmission parts became faulty. I was incredibly impressed by the quality of customer service I received from AM Star Transmission. The manager, Nicholas, and his team were incredibly helpful and accommodating, ensuring that I was kept up to date with the process and that my concerns were addressed quickly and efficiently. This was especially impressive considering that the fault was covered by their 2 year/24,000 mile warranty that AM Star Transmission offers. They honored it without hesitation, and the part was replaced free of charge. Overall, I am incredibly grateful for the exceptional service I received from AM Star Transmission. I would highly recommend their services to anyone looking for an honest, reliable and cost effective transmission services!

Attempted to fix my transmission 3 times, failed and charged me everytime. They may do good work for some, but their deception, dishonesty and threat reveal something about the core of the business. Omar is surly and non-responsive and has his staff manage problems. I could go into all of the details, but the bottom line is they RIPPPED ME OFF! Stupid me for trusting them a second and third time.
