Sea Colony Aqua Sports came highly recommended. Owners John and Lin Kiser have been diving since the 70s. They have a tremendous amount of experience and made learning about diving fun. Their staff are very helpful too. They're flexible and accommodating for any level of student. They also offer very reasonable refresher courses if you already have a certification. We really enjoyed our Open Water Diver course and the weekend dive test at Lake Phoenix was a nice experience. We look forward to learning and pursuing other diving certifications.

Super friendly, professional and detailed care. The shop has great knowledgeable instructors and dive masters that make the experience safe and fun. This is an incredible place to start your journey as a diver. My wife and I got certified today and will continue our journey.

Super friendly. Worked hard to fit us for snorkel gear. They don't have as good of a selection and inventory as some of the superstores, but what they carry is really good quality gear. They also had great prices.

The shop and all of its employees were very friendly and helpful the moment I first walked in. A month later, four days of diving and tons of tests, information, videos and I'm certified open water.

My Son and I got certified with Sea Colony last weekend. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and willing and able to help me through a few issues that I had during my certification dives. This is absolutely the BEST place to learn Scuba. They will make sure that you understand the concepts, and what to do under water. If you have trouble, they will take the time to help you stay on track. My son and I are already signed up for the next class, so we can get to the advanced certification level. We are looking forward to learning, progressing, and strengthening our skills, as we enjoy deeper and more challenging dive trips. Thank you to the AMAZING STAFF at Sea Colony ! And a special shout out to John, Lin, Harvey, Garth, and Nicky ! You guys are the best !!!

The owners are recognized throughout the area and the industry as 5 star professionals. They teach, train and coach through the skills to not only enjoy underwater adventures but how to do it safely and get home every.single.time. This is no quickie resort class type of setup where they hope for the best. Every outing and lesson is done with respect for the safety of clients. While diving is a challenging sport hobby, the emphasis is focused on first recognizing trouble, avoiding it when possible and managing it SAFELY to ensure you get home.

I’ve been using Sea Colony for my equipment service and repairs for about three years. They are excellent. Don, Ted and Dave are outstanding. I live over 30 miles from the shop and an equipment drop off and later pickup is 120 miles total. But I would use NO OTHER shop for servicing. You get to speak directly to the tech and he explains in detail the work and any suggestions on equipment care. 5 stars!!

My husband and I visited this place today and the gentleman that helped us was very helpful and very knowledgeable. He was a great big help and made us feel very comfortable about the products we were purchasing and helped us sign up for our first scuba class. I would highly recommend this place.
UPDATE 06/23/2019:
Okay so we did the PADI OPEN WATER DIVE CERTIFICATION and my husband, sons and I learned so much with SEA COLONY AQUA SPORTS. It was A....MAZING!
Our OW diving certification was at Lake Phoenix located in Va. This place had so much to see under the water. My husband and boys adapted to being a OW diver like pros but for me, it was scary, amazing and super fun too! However, I have to say if it wasn't for Sea Colony in Severna Park, Md. I don't think I would have been able to join my husband and boys at all because I was a little freaked out at first. I mean really just the thought of being in the water so deep was terrifying for me at first but I have to say the owner John helped me overcome my beginning fears by taking my hand and swiming me around the bottom, he really helped me calm down so I could really enjoy the dive with my family. John made this one of my favorite adventures ever...! And because of John and his team of Master Divers I am officially certified as a PADI Open Water Diver (18m/60ft) and plan to take the Advanced Diving Certification (30m/100') next week.
If you're interested in diving you have to go to this place, they are amazing.
