We had to wait several months for service due to a huge Covid-caused backlog, but we understood. One of the co-owners (wish we had gotten his name--he was very pleasant) came to our house and got our grandmother clock back in working order after it had sat dormant for several years. He was kind, knowledgeable, and focused on his work. We are so happy to have our family heirloom keeping time once again!

I have been looking for a place to repair a Mantel Clock that my parents got for a wedding gift. I am so happy they can fix it!

Just picked up my cuckoo clock and couldn't be happier! Ben did an amazing job getting it running after another shop botched the overhaul. Ben was very thorough and the clock looks and runs like new! Highly recommend!

Ben and his team were fantastic! They tightened the hand on my sentimental clock and it was as good as new. They didn't charge me anything. Thank you!

We talked to Ben, the service manager, very smart and knowledgeable. Diagnosed the issue on our 175 year old grandfather clock as well as our mantle clock! We highly recommend Hands of Time!

Hands of time is located in the Savage Mill complex. The best way to get to them is to park at the "large lot" at the end of the Mill by the adventure area. When you walk in, go downstairs and it is near-immediate on the right. This group really loves clocks and clearly has a lot of experience. While I didn't watch them work, in speaking with them, they speak intelligently and are happy to explain what they did. Their prices definitely aren't cheap but there isn't much competition around. To get my cuckoo clock completely cleaned (and they test it running for about a week to ensure it keeps time), it was just over $300.

There's not many places in the area that will fix a 50+ year old German Cuckoo Clock, but Hands of Time is definitely one of them. I first used request a quote on Yelp and sent some pictures of the inner workings of the clock. The owner got back to me fairly quickly to tell me that they would actually have to look at the clock in person to really determine repairs and give me an accurate estimate. Not exactly sure what the Request A Quote is for... but ya know, I completely understand haha. I mean... how could they really give me a good estimate without really taking a close look at the clock mechanism. In any event, I went to Hands Of Time - It's located in the Historic Savage Mill mall... thing. From the last time I went there, they have significantly reduce the size of the store. It's maybe cut in half or even maybe a third of what it used to be. In any event, in the back you can bring your clock up and go to the master horologists and get a estimate. When they took a look at my clock, the gentleman Ben said that the clock was in pretty good shape. The mechanism looked like it was in good shape and it just needed a thorough cleaning and oiling. The bellows ( the mechanism that makes the clock cuckoo) were torn to shreds. There's two of the them, and both needed to be replaced. Also potentially the cuckoo bird needs to be replaced. And they have a service, which I was completely unaware of, where they are going to run the clock for a couple of weeks and adjust it and make sure that it is keeping good time. All said and done, the cost was a good deal higher than I thought it was gonna be. He said that they're looking at a 350-400 dollar repair. I was expecting around 300 max. That said, this is very specialized work, not many people do it, and they are running on a back order of 3-4 months. Yes, you heard that right. They literally have so many clocks to repair that it's gonna take 3-4 months for my cuckoo to be done. So... simple supply and demand model shows that they can definitely charge a bit more. That's economics. I will be getting my cuckoo clock back in Spring sometime, and I can't wait. I bought this cuckoo clock off of Ebay 'cause it was a replica of my Grandmother's cuckoo clock. It was missing one figurine, and I'm not quite sure that the music box is the same - the models had a few different songs you could choose from. But I truly just can't wait until their done and I can show off this jewel of my clock collection.

Helpful and professional. Repaired an antique grandfather clock that had not worked in decades. Was able to make the missing part, repair, calibrate, oil and got it back to working condition. Loses about a minute every day or so. Always there when you need them, Very helpful on the phone. Charges extra for house calls in Baltimore. Highly recommend.

This place is amazing! In addition to the incredible selection of clocks of all shapes, sizes and colors, they FIX timepieces as well. I took the old mantle clock that had been my parents' to be fixed after the hands fell off. The guy that helped us, patiently explained how we should be caring for the clock - then he gently put everything in order. This will be where we bring the clock annually for her checkups going forward.
