They make you sign stuff before giving you a charge break down. I should have turned away right then and there. Thought they would cost less than competitors with the advertised 30% off promotion. Promotion did not apply to entire order as advertised. Not sure they even actually applied it in the end. Cost more than twice the numbers I was told on the phone, not including the extra time I wound up needing to rent them, but was not 'technically' lied to because how things were phrased- all hidden fees and fine print nonsense. We made the mistake of thinking a big brand name would be more reputable. Ha.Drop off times are unchangeable, and you are not alerted to them until the day before your drop off. Realistically, in most places you have to be there to show them where to drop off the pod, despite their service reps insisting it can be left to drivers. Both at my old and new house we had issues, one where a driver didn't call us or even check where the pods had been listed to be placed and was aboutt input it so close to the first pod we wouldn't have been able to get any of the furniture out of it when we saw them out the window and flagged them down. Having to wake up at 7 am and sit around for 3 hours (the windows they give are 3 hours long) for the pod driver to get there was a huge pain and not something I experienced with similar services. Once we had to wait a full 6 hours where the times were back to back and the pod didn't arrive until the end of the second window.Besides that there were just huge scheduling issues in general. Another thing they don't tell you is that they can't deliver straight to your house. No matter what, they take your stuff to a warehouse for a minimum of a few days and then have it shipped out later, and not knowing how soon you can have your stuff delivered is a huge hassle. Nevermind it seems like a thinley veiled ploy to get you to have the pod just long enough for them to charge you a second moth due to it just sitting in storage for a week.We were also given a poor estimate for our house size. Not everything fit in the pods. We hired a local mover through our realtor for what was left over, and it did *not* feel good to find out a FULL SERVICE mover would have been cheaper after all the hassle they caused. If you are moving fast just get full service, it will not save you money to load it yourself. If you need the storage use literally any other self loading storage company, but personally I had a good experience with u-pack.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! Got scammed $1500 using PODS. DMO advised military not to use them because of the scams but I did not listen and got scammed. I ordered a pre weight and a after weight. They dropped it off with our giving a weigh pre ticket. My husband and I both spent 3 days trying to get ahold of them. Getting put on hold for 2-5 hours each time only to get hung up on with no one even saying hello. Listen to your local DMO if your military.

PODS was the answer for my local move. We did it within a one month time frame instead of all in one day. Pod was large and easily transported from one home to another. If your driveway is complicated, request an experienced delivery person. The machine they use to place Pod is unique and takes skill and one of our drivers was not able to out pod where we wanted, but we agreed on a secondary area that was easier to maneuver to. All customer service was courteous and I would recommend again.

Very convenient service and their drivers are top notch. Had a delay in the re-delivery and wasn't notified until the morning of which threw off our schedule. Other than that it was a very good experience.

Easy to reserve a pod for the date you need it. They can hold a lot of stuff. Just go online to your account when you need it moved or picked up. Couldn't be easier.

PODS is honestly great. They're like the Home Depot of moving. They are not "shiny" like a Target, but they are no nonsense, work quick and work well! I have no reason not to recommend them to everyone.

We used PODS to move across the country from Maryland to California. I have to admit, the convenience of packing over the course of 4-5 days was a great fit for our family. Unfortunately, that is where the convenience ended. PODS was supposed to ship our container from Maryland to California to store in a storage facility while we traveled and looked for a house. When we found our house, we called in to schedule the delivery of our container. We expected that this would not happen immediately so we called in about a week before we would need our items. After all, it was supposed to be a local delivery from a storage facility to our home in the same town as the storage facility. We were quite surprised to find out that PODS had not shipped our container to California yet! Furthermore, they told us that it would take 21 days for our container to arrive!! To this day, we have received no compensation or contact from any PODS representative to remedy this situation. Oh, and they charged us for an extra month of storage because OUR POD TOOK 21 DAYS TO BE SHIPPED ACROSS THE COUNTRY. We will never work with this company again.

Overall PODS moving experience was awesome for a first time try!!! Kudos to PODS for satisfying my moving experience with the lowest moving / relocating stress ever!!! Having had a nightmare with full-service movers every single time, I would never ever choose something other than PODS! :)

We used PODs to move from California to Delaware this summer. The delivery and pick up went fine. The problem was when we filed a $400 claim for damage to a trailer. We received such a run a round from the claims department. I think they were just using a stall tactic hoping we would get frustrated and stop trying to get reimbursed. We spent $35,000 on the move and were offered a $200 settlement. We also purchased additional $140,000 insurance to cover our contents and any damage. We had repeated calls to the claim dept who never seemed to receive the multiple emails and pictures of the damage. Finally when we had the adjuster on the phone who still said he had no pictures and we pointed out that the pictures were in the file he was referencing did he agree he finally had it. Way too much trouble try another moving company. PODs, insurance dept you should be ashamed of the extremely poor customer service. I hope you see this and respond

PODs is the 21st century of moving. There are so many options, and so many responsible people to help with all the options, it creates a solid, webbased dance of POD boxes across the country. My experience was flawless from delivery , to take it away and it was all handled on the web site MyPods.com. Great company and flawless execution for my needs. Great Job!
