This place is a joke. Unprofessional Staff who don’t actually care for the well being of your pets. All they want is money. Was told a surgery was going to be anywhere from $3000 - $6,000 and didn’t even cost a quarter of that price at a local vets office. Would not recommend taking your pets there.

Upon arrival at around 0230 AM with our dog who in his final hours from renal failure. Met at the door by a sign that says, “if you can’t be nice, you will be asked to leave.” Not the welcome we expected knowing the outcome of our visit. We explained to the receptionist that we were there for end of life. We stayed in our car and completed paperwork which was ok. We were able to provide comfort to our dog with not distraction in a waiting room. After about 30 minutes they came out to get our dog and said they would come get us in 30 minutes. After about an hour my wife was frantic not knowing what was going on since we had to remain in our car. She called the receptionist and pleaded with her to let us be with our dog. They let us in and put us in a small comfort room. Within a few minutes our dog was wheeled in on a gurney strapped down I am sure for his safety. The tech who wheeled him said that our dog was looking for us which was very hard to hear but a nice thought anyway. When a blanket was removed that covered him, all 4 of his lags were bandaged as they could not find a vein since he was so dehydrated. Another tech came in and gave him an injection in his muscle which was a sedative. She said they would be back in about 10 minutes. His breathing began to slow and after 20 minutes the tech came back and we asked for more time with him and if they could give him more sedative. The tech left and within a few minutes his respiration stopped and he passed away in our arms. The need to euthanize him was not required at least while we were there. I would think that everyone sitting in their car would like better communication as to what is going on with their pet. I felt there was empathy by the staff but because we were not in the building, they tended to forget about us and all we had was a phone call to the receptionist. We needed to be kept informed which did not happen during this very important time with our pet.

Dr. Drewer saw my dog Buddy over the weekend while we were on vacation and he experienced a medical emergency. She was extremely competent in her work and I really appreciated how she gathered significant medical information and reiterated it back to me to ensure she had a solid grasp of Buddy’s needs and my concerns. I felt so much more comfortable when she did this as it reassured me she fully understood the medical situation and although it was her first time meeting Buddy, she showed full undivided attention to his needs. Her diagnosis and treatment plan were well informed and were in line with our primary vets guidance which we received when his office re-opened the following day. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because this is a “curbside” ER and parents don’t wait with their dog during triage and aren’t part of the physical exam. During a stressful time like a dog medical emergency, I find it important for the dog to stay with their parent to ensure maximum comfort and feeling of safety. The clinic did allow Buddy to stay with me until the doctor was ready to see him, instead of waiting in a crate during triage, but this was something I had to request and not common practice. The clinic had a waiting room and seemed to have plenty of patient rooms, so I’m sure why they impose this policy. I would have liked to stay with Buddy from beginning to end, especially since an ER is an unfamiliar place for both dog and parent. Otherwise, I was highly satisfied with our care and hopefully we never need to go back, but G-d forbid the need arises I know we are in good hands.

So kind. My cat passed away upon bringing her in. They set me up with everything I needed and even gave me a paw print and some hair to keep. I will forever be grateful to their kindness during one of the hardest times of my life. Thank you to the kind souls working there.

Terrible experience but unfortunately the only option when you need help on a holiday weekend. We had to hand over our ailing 15 yr old dog at the door and made to wait outside. Front desk person came outside with a price list and we had to make a quick decision on treatment options without being allowed to see a vet until we paid. A business transaction. No caring. No compassion. Knowing he was at end of life, we opted for the compassionate alternative to put an end to his suffering. The only positive is we were allowed to say goodbye and hold him during his final moments.

Our dog got into mouse/rat poison while we were on vacation in OC. We found Pets ER and took her in for treatment and they brought her in right away. Even though service was curbside only, we were kept up to date on her treatment as the evening went on and were able to trust that she was in good hands.

I’ve unfortunately had to use their services a few times. Once to euthanize a stray cat that appeared to have been hit by a car, another because my dog had parvo, another time because my elderly dog was dying, and just a few days ago when one of my cats had a medical emergency.
They rushed my boy right in and tried to save him. We were provided a quiet room while they were performing cpr. Unfortunately the chances of my cat making it through were slim to none so we decided to humanely put him down. I held him while they administered the shots and we were able to spend as much time we needed to say our final goodbyes. They treated us with respect and compassion that night and every other time we’ve had to use their services. They also work with the local animal crematorium so taking care of that side of things was easy.

I love my pets. They are like my two little boys. Snow had something wrong with his right eye. I thought it would be ok only to notice it was causing him alot of dis comfort. I called on a Sunday because Pet's ER is open to help you on emergency basis. They informed me upfront what the bulk of the charges would be. I was also told how long it may take 2 hrs. And to show up early if I wanted to be one of the 1st. served. I really love that you wait in your car and not the facility because having small dogs there can be a fear element of large dog encounters or I am not sure how they might react to cats. And I think, I do not know for sure but health wise for cleanliness that's probably a smart move base on the fact they are extremely busy. I really like the staff and the doctor. Snow came out of the doctor office with his eye open and the medicine she gave him is working great. He is now up and playing a little with his brother Winter. I liked the service rendered. When your animal is sick you feel for them. So take your animals there and get them well. Happy Harvest Season.

Dr. Ann Kroken took such great care of our furbaby. Not just for the emergency we were there for. She checked her over from snout to tip of tail, inside and out. So very happy and greatful!!!

be careful if you leave your pet and are 15 minutes late even though on the paper CLEARLY says 30 mins or later you will be charged extra. Staff was so quick to leave, they barely explained anything upon leaving and rushed me out ( didn’t even step foot in, handled me the kennel, papers and sent me on my way ) Change your policy if you still are gonna charge!! all they want is $$.

They are there when your regular vet is closed. Very Professional and thorough unlike a lot of places , they have qualified personnel ..I had to put down to Precious cats ..and they let you stay with your pet till their last breath ..which is the way it should be. And they have helped with other pet emergencies I have had. So if you need immediate help this place is a God send.

If I could give a negative number I would. I called there around 5 pm and was told that they were "booked" but would have more docs at 8, I can come them. I had a really sick 15 week old kitten that wouldn't eat, nor drink, something I explained to the phone person. My wife and I took our kitten there around 7:35pm and called when we arrived to be told, " I don't know who you talked to but we can't see you. You should have gone to Annapolis or Dover." Then then hung up. I think this is the most unprofessional group I've ever dealt with. I've been up with my kitten all night, holding her, trying to get her to drink to no avail. It's terrible to see your pet go down , shake, be very unsteady when you've been treated by the people there. They should close their doors, they certainly aren't in to help pets.

The treatment and care for my Lilly was excellent.
This is however, a very busy place. If you have an emergency it's the only place in the area that I've found. It is a service at front door, no waiting room waiting.
Triage was very quick, they handle patients in the order of severity. Although we were there for better than a few hours I felt confident that my Lilly was well cared for.
Upon completing our visit the post appointment directions were very concise.
I am thankful for PetsER.
Very appreciative.
