July 2024 by Roxy Barr
My husband Richard had been in hospice care since February of 2024. And on June 21st 2024 my husband went Home to be with Jesus. He was at the Stansell House hospice in Ocean Pines. They contacted Bounds Funeral Home. A very nice man came a short while later and with the largest amount of care and respect that very nice man took my husband to the care of Bounds Funeral Home. We met with Melissa shortly after to make the arrangements. In my book Melissa is the best. She and all of the staff at Bounds Funeral Home treated myself and my children with the deepest respect and with care and concern. The day of the funeral was handled in such a kind and gentle way from the viewing clear through to the burial at Spring Hill Memory Gardens. Everything went so smoothly. I didn't have to remember a thing. David was right there with me instructing me what I was to do where I was to sit. I am so appreciative of everyone at Bounds Funeral Home for the respect and the care that they gave not only me and my entire family but the care and respect to my husband Richard. God bless.

Bounds funeral home staff were very kind and helpful to us when my father passed. They took care of notification to Arlington Cemetery and really kept up communication with them and us.

Melissa was so patient and kind. She walked me through everything, as I had never planned a service before and didn't know where to start. She even recommended a pastor who could perform the service. He called me several times to learn about my Mom, so that her service would be personal. He was very caring and her service was perfect.

My mothers service was held at Bounds funeral. While it’s been years 2005, I remember it like it was yesterday. Your kindness, love, I still feel it till this day. I would never go anywhere else but Bounds Funeral service!

I was told by Melissa it was standard procedure in md that if no viewing is requested they do not make up and view the actual deceased person that.they match a photo of the person to the deceased however we recently had a cremation of my son's father in may of 2023 at hollaway funeral home and even though we had a direct cremation they still had his dad made up and we viewed the body my beef with bounds funeral home is that melisa never asked me for id ,l volunteered my licence and they only Id my sister by a picture taken in by the beneficiaryl could have found a homeless person dead and took their picture in and said this is my loved one and that would have been the only form of id this is totally ridiculous !!! Who really knows who is being cremated here if this is bounds standard procedure ,,,, come on something else needs to happen here!!!!

I can’t say enough nice things about BOUNDS FUNERAL HOME. My mother had a Neptune Society cremation policy, and had bought it in California in 1996. She had moved to Maryland in the later years and had a rider plan to continue the policy. When she passed, BOUNDS FUNERAL HOME, WORKED so HARD for 3 days trying to figure out my mom’s policy as Neptune Society was having trouble locating her policy. Since 1996 Neptune Society’s system of how policies were kept had changed. BOUNDS FUNERAL HOME, took all the stress off me with their persistence in locating her policy. . BOUNDS FUNERAL HOME WAS SO PROFESSIONAL and comforting during the whole process. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM FOR ANYONE GOING THROUGH STRESSFUL AND SORROWFUL DAYS.

I cannot say enough nice things about Bounds. They were the height of professionalism and very kind to my family. My mother left her body to science in Maryland, but died visiting family in Delaware, so we needed Bounds to retrieve her and take her across state lines. They didn't even charge us for everything they did for us, and they handled all the paperwork for getting her death certificates to us. I hope you never need their services, but when you do, call Bounds.

Losing a parent is hard no matter how old you are. I have lost both of mine 11 months apart. I am beside myself. The staff at Bound have been very helpful in easing my stress. They are good people and care about their clients well being.

I cannot express my gratitude enough to explain how the wonderful team at Bounds Funeral Home went above and beyond all expectations to give our 93 year old loved one the funeral he always talked about in 3 days time. Including the Marine Guard playing taps. Melissa was amazing for such short notice, and gave attention to the smallest of details. I am definately a believer in pre-planning your final arrangements.
