This review is for KEVIN, bc we have been going to Home Depot for DECADES, and he’s the only person, ever, to see us walk in, looking around for something, and ask, “do you need help with anything?” Thank you Kevin! Hope you like your new job position, you deserve it!

A complete waste of time. No follow through, promises not kept and no communications after initial meeting.

5 1/2 weeks after our initial meeting with the design team we still didn’t have a usable kitchen design. We paid $300 for someone to come measure our house (required) and we were still being asked to measure distances by the designer. The designs are not done in real time meaning they design something, meet with you, and revise after you meet with them. Each time it requires another week of revisions and re-meeting. We were never asked if we wanted appliances moved or big questions that seem like a basic start. A lot of time was wasted because of these inefficiencies. Picking cabinet brand and colors seemed to be the bigger priority for the designer. My husband and I spent 4 hours in the evening for 3 days redesigning the kitchen ourselves. Additionally lead time once the design is approved can be upwards of 12 weeks! The only reason for 2 stars is the friendliness of the staff and the center itself is helpful to walk around and see examples.

STOP! If you are planning to buy anything from them you will be making the worst mistake of your life. After spending over than $40,000 everything, I mean EVERYTHING went wrong!
Wrong orders, mistakes, horrible delivery, zero customer service and zero follow up from higher management. What we went thru with them was an absolute nightmare. If you want to make things wrong on purpose you could not make it any worse than this. When i think about Home Depot design center I want to VOMIT!

I highly recommend designer Alexander Borchardt. We worked with him on a kitchen project estimate and he was very professional, knowledgeable, patient, efficient and pleasant to work with.

Bad, frustrating experience. Sales rep was impossible to get a hold of, made many many mistakes that delayed our renovation for months, and had no idea what they were doing. Avoid!

Avoid at all costs! I’m in the tail end of a kitchen and bathroom renovation. While the contracting company Home Depot used has done great work, the project is very poorly managed. It has extended beyond the early estimate of 2 months to 7+ months. After several requests to have extra products and materials returned that were ordered by mistake or at the recommendation of Home Depot, we had to wait over 6 weeks for the $3000 returns to be processed, with worry along the way that we would only get store credit. It has been like pulling teeth to have attention paid to the final close out of our project punch list and our messages to the Home Depot team often are unanswered for weeks at a time.

Greeted promptly and warmly. Give direction appropriately. No designer available for remodel discussion.

I write this review to thank for the designer's effort in helping me doing the right work. I worked with Anca at HDDC in designing a bathroom remodelling work. She proved to be a great partner in accomplishing the job. If you have some ideas in mind, she can definitely help you finding the right materials to get your vision into reality. Anca is very responsive to our demands. Whenever we call or email her she always reponds in a timely manner. She is also diligent in putting the stuff together and offering suggestions in picking the suitable items for your project. The items on display at the store are diverse and abundant in styles and fashions. You can definitely find something fitting your ideal project there. Overall I recommend this designer and will love to work with her on some future project.

You've got to be lucky to start with the right designer at Home Depot Design Center. We were NOT. We were trapped (will tell you how) to start by 'first pay $300, sign, and then let's talk' scheme. We met A. J. accidently in the bathroom section where we were browsing the bathroom tiles. We asked him without knowing what position he was holding, if Home Depot had other wooden look tiles for bathrooms since we wanted to remodel ours and have the idea of wood and dark colors. The first thing he said was that we must sign and pay $300. It was like he would not answer without signing and paying first. We were wrong to follow his direction to pay and sign without being explained about the process and without checking anybody there if this is just a weird process at Home Depot Design Center that customer must go through. We paid and signed then he said (like 'now go home') "our staff will call you to make an appt for measurements!! We were surprised that he didn't even ask what style, peoducts color, etc was in our mind. We left HDDC in shock and feeling how wrong the process was. Another day somebody called and a gentleman came to measure our primary bathroom who was professional and helpful to recommend some solutions regarding our plumbing and walls and made sure we don't have further questions b fore he leaves. We didn't hear from A. J. again and felt our project was left up in air. We then returned to HDDC and we met by accident a manager and sale espetialist. She heard our story that we were pushed to sign first and now left without any news. She tried to make up for it and even called A. J. but he didn't have any explanation, just apologies. The manager patiently sat with us to choose our materials. She was helpful, professional and patient to go through our needs. Ten days later on February 22nd, we received a weird design draft from the designer (yes, still without him talking to us about what is in our mind). We had a few back-and-forth emails on the draft and we are again without any news since April 11. The process was too unsatisfactory and unprofessional with zero results for us, plus negative reputation for Home Depot. In fact, we were left without anything written/explained to us regarding why no answer, where the $300 went, etc. We are sharing this review to let you know how you can be treated and waste your time and money if you are not starting the process with the right and a professional person.

Wow. What a horrendous experience. We recently went through what should have been an easy bathroom remodel with the Home Depot Design Center. Unfortunately, not only did the job take over 4 months to complete (when it should have taken 6 weeks), but everyone at the design center has proven to be ineffective and inefficient at their jobs including their so-called managers Awra and Tim. We are still hiring contractors to fix their poor design and craftsmanship. Everything from the wrong fixtures were ordered for the space, measuring incorrectly, and moving a doorway unexpectedly and incompletely that it is now caving in. A list of issues is as follows: The HD claim says that it was a kitchen remodel and it was a bathroom remodel. Home Depot chose a contractor to work with that was not certified to do work in our city. That was a reason for the denied permits. This meant that everything had to be resubmitted and would then be looked at in an additional 30 days. The project was officially started on 3/18. Supplies arrived at our house on 4/22 and were not put in the correct place. Our Home Depot project manager, Arwa, was on vacation and could not be reached and we were not given another POC, therefore, we had supplies in our living room around our toddler. The project should have started the week on 5/11. It did not start until 6/19. It was then not completed until the end of September. We signed documents that it would take 6-8 weeks starting on 5/11. Countertops, cabinets, and the shower were mismeasured. Therefore, the tiling is uneven, shower door does not stay open, and cabinets hit the wall. The bathroom door also needed to be moved. Half of the documents had the door moved and half did not. Due to the mismeasurement, the door needed to be moved. More supplies therefore needed to be ordered that were not included in the initial project agreement. Missing materials- Items were never ordered and we never spoke to a product specialist, which we now understand should have been part of the process. Materials arrived broken more than 3 times. Tim (Home Depot installation manager) said he would bring a new fire detector upstairs due to extensive dust ruining the old one. It never came. The customer had to move all construction materials and tools as the Home Depot team and contractors were unresponsive and we needed to make it a safe living environment for two children. The "new doorway" started to cave in and had to be repaired. There is a crack in the new ceiling. HD has refused to provide criteria by which they make any monetary compensation decisions based on a claims case that is opened. After taking 5 months to review our case and sending us to all different branches of the company(we have yet to talk to the same person about our complaint), they have decided that the Design Center and Home Depot holds virtually no responsibility as a bathroom was ultimately remodeled. Home Depot Design Center uses sub contractors to do the work. This company, Executive Improvements, were just as horrendous. We, as the customer, were not given the option to choose a different contractor. The project started off poorly with them, as they could not get a permit in our county because their license in our county was not up to date (therefore a month of waiting for corrected permits). Through more research we learned that another project in our area with the Home Depot Design Center used the same contractor around the same time had very similar issues. A complaint had been made to the permit and license office of Virginia against Executive Improvements. I am disappointed that Home Depot was negligent in fixing the issues in either case by taking action and getting a new subcontractor. To add insult to injury, we had to bring a newborn home into a construction zone and sleep in the living room due to dust.Overall, I would NEVER suggest working with the Home Depot Design Center.

This is a really funny place. We came in and paid $300 for an in house design and consultation. The designer said she’ll take full ownership to come with a contractor to our home. And, suggest designs, take measurements. Two weeks passed. No attempts at scheduling. We walked in and politely enquired. They politely said we are totally fine to refund. No attempt at solving the real problem. No apologies.Wow, customer service and Home Depot are far away I suppose.

Be wary of ordering any samples from this store as you will not be able to return them to this store nor to a regular Home Depot store. You will have to drive to the Distribution Center to return and they will charge a restocking fee even though they say don't.

This place is really bad.
Worked with HASNAIN who has no follow up and is condescending. You as the customer have to run after him. Acts as if they are doing you a favor for taking on your project
1. Limited options
2. Unhelpful employees that make it seem as though they are doing you a favor by attending to you.
3. Limited options and they get you to only use their tiles if you’re using their installer very limited.
4. Add more material to your order so that you have excess that you don’t need and can’t return, but you already paid for.
5. Make sure you know the exact amount needed with a 10 to 15% excess and make sure that’s represented on the amount of supplies that’s recommended.
6. Regardless, I wouldn’t use this place anyway!
