TL;DR - OK for a short stay; skip the breakfastThe good -> Location - close by to amenities and yet quiet> Staff - very good, both at the reception and restaurant. The bad -> Rooms - The hotel is pretty old and has an interesting odor. The hot water is meh. There was a TV that was in the center (does not swivel) of the room with the chair in a diagonal corner.> Breakfast - Everything was frozen and heated or pre-packed, except for potatoes, maybe. Overpriced at $20

The rooms have paper-thin walls. Guest in the room next to mine was on the phone talking at a reasonable volume, and I could hear them as if they were standing next to me. I asked to switch rooms, and my new room has really terrible internet connectivity. I wouldn't complain about any of this from a budget hotel, but this is the 5th floor "club level", i.e. the best rooms at this location.Morning edit: best I can say about this place is that the room looked very nice, and the bed was comfortable. When I took a shower I ran out of hot water in about 5 minutes; this was around 8:30am.Rooms: Really pretty, but paper-thin walls with basically no sound insulation.Noteworthy details: Internet connectivity is very hit or miss.

The staff were courteous. The shower was subpar and did not get any hotter than lukewarm. I was traveling for business and found that none of my devices would connect to the internet. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with support staff regarding this issue and was eventually told that they would manually connect my devices, but when the time came to take my work call, I was still not connected. Eventually, I gave up and used my hotspot. Unacceptable in an area where many travel for business. Breakfast ended earlier than advertised. Other than that, the room was clean, and the bathroom was well stocked.

You kinda know what you’re getting with this place. It’s in a decent location if you have a vehicle and the staff are great! Amenities are a little tired and could use better internet. Club Lounge is on the smaller side. A great value for the area.

Pros: Staff were all very friendly and helpful, even when we arrived at 2:00 am after flight delays. Location is nicely tucked away but still close to highway. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable.Cons: The TV in the room didn't have an option for streaming service connectivity, so we were stuck with DISH, and the weather kept interfering with it. Breakfast buffet is $20 and offered the exact same options every morning.

If you're looking to stay in a beat-up hotel that feels like from World War era, please make sure to book this Sheraton. I am writing this review while I am staying at this property and have no words to describe how terrible this property is. Additionally, you will get following amenities for free while staying here. - Unfriendly and useless staff- Beat up and depressing rooms- Internet doesn't work (even after complaining several times)- The phones in the room do not work (not even to call front desk) or may be they are not answering intentionally- Nobody answers when you call front desk from your cellphone. You have to give them an in-person visit- They charge you $15 early check-in fee - this is first time in my life.Do not fall for their photoshopped picture of the rooms on their website. Looks like Marriott has deleted the word "Hospitality" from their book. I am reconsidering taking my brand loyalty to some other hotel brand after last couple of bad experiences.

MARRIOT ELITE MEMBERS AVOID THIS HOTEL!!!! Worst experience at a Marriott property that I've ever had. I'm a Lifetime Platinum Elite member and as such I'm guaranteed late checkout. When I requested it at the front desk they denied it. I asked to speak to a manager and he denied it too. I pulled up the Marriott website where it specifically states "Guaranteed 4pm late checkout" for Platinum Elite members. He said he can't honor that because "what if the whole hotel wanted late checkout?" Absolutely absurd. The whole hotel doesn't want late checkout. Furthermore, not everyone that arrives the following day will check in at 4pm. And lastly, the hotel wasn't full. I asked him why it says late checkout is guaranteed if it's clearly not. He just shrugged. On top of that, they won't give you access to the Concierge Lounge unless you ask for it. In fact, they won't even tell you they have a Concierge Lounge unless you ask. The wifi is worthless, and forget about the Enhanced Wifi for Platinum members that most Marriotts have, this has no such thing. The tv in the room is tiny, and doesn't offer any streaming services. In fact, the onscreen guide will only show you the names of the channels, not what's actually on them. If you have a food allergy like I do, avoid the breakfast. I have cealiacs disease and can't eat gluten. As I'm scooping up my eggs and bacon from the serving tray I notice that it's all stacked on a bed of bread. I get it, it absorbs the grease, but how about using paper towels instead of a known food allergen? Are the eggs sitting on a bed of peanuts? The coffee pot hanging from a bee hive? Let's just throw all of the deadly allergies into the mix. Worthless hotel and even more worthless management.

I was coming to Rockville to see my mother, who was dying of cancer. I called the hotel to let them know I would be arriving very late. I finally got there at about 5 AM, and told the very nice woman at the desk that my mother had just passed away. She very quickly offered her condolences, and upgraded me to a room on the club level. I told her I would be extending my stay from Saturday to Monday (Memorial Day) because of funeral arrangements. She said that would be no problem. The next day, I made a reservation for the adjoining room for my sons, also through to Monday. No problem. But on Saturday, a bill came under our door signaling the end of our stay. The woman now at the desk, Jessica, said the room we were in had been booked, and if we wanted to stay, we had to move. We asked to speak to the hotel manager. There was none on site for the holiday weekend. We gave our number to Jessica and asked the manager to call us, but none did (more on that in a minute.) We moved to a different room.As to the hotel itself: the rooms are small, outdated, with no closets, only a small armoire and barely any drawer space. Housekeeping only goes until noon, so if you don't leave your room early, you're out of luck. Toiletries are built into the shower wall and are very masculine. The cleaning products used in the elevator and club lounge are overpowering and awful. The breakfast is fine but expensive (free on the club level). As for the manager: she finally called us back on Tuesday, after we were already home. She told us she didn't call earlier because she doesn't work weekends or holidays. She never apologized, nor offered any kind of recompense for our trouble. We will not be returning to this hotel.

Had stayed here weekly for the 4 months in 2015. Staff were friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I visited in 2023 with family and stayed for 3 nights. House keeping didn't come on the second day for refreshing the room and towels. When I came be on second night, I found a "Do not disturb" sign on the outside door handle. No idea who placed that there because, I could find the sign for my room on the inside handle of the door. Called reception around 9.30 pm for 2 bath towels as the one in the room got soaked. They told that to they will send it; but never received. So called again in the morning and this time a different person confirmed they will send it. After 30 minutes house keeping delivered the bath towels. I think the rooms; especially the bathrooms can use some spruce up. TV programming can include a few more kid and family friendly channels. An option for the guest to use their own streaming services would be great. In general, service can be improvedRooms: I used to stay weekly for 4 months 8 years ago. Not much updates have been done to the rooms since.

Lots of feelings about my stay at this hotel. Nothing against the staff, mainly the concierge and my waiter at the dining lounge. They both were very professional and courteous with all my requests. But there were a few points I couldn't help but notice. For a Marriott location, this place was empty than most Marriott hotels I've gone to. Understandable for Rockville Maryland to not be the most popular city to visit, but was hoping more for the hotel chain brand. We stayed on the 4th floor and the room had a very awful diesel smell, a smell you would normally get in a very old yellow bus or a truck on the road for too long. I thought it was just a temporary thing and the air conditioner was turned on to filter out the air so I just excused it. And we weren't occupied in the hotel room for too long so I just shrugged it off. Little did I know the thermostat didn't work and the smell still remained. The next morning I woke up with an awful nauseating feeling because the air still remained putrid and I'm sure it was due to the lack of ventilation. Especially during the post-pandemic, having clean and filtered air is extremely important. A sinking feeling of mine was maybe the air conditioner hasn't been fixed for a long time and the filters haven't been cleaned out. That is quite unpleasant news. Another first time experience was as soon as I arrived at the hotel, the concierge had trouble pulling up my reservation and couldn't find it. I did use a third party company to book my reservation but they are a reliable and well known booking source. I had to call the company and had them connect to this hotel's front desk to key in a new reservation manually for my stay. Granted it was a holiday where not many ppl occupy the hotel but I am disappointed at whoever was in charge at keying in my reservation at this hotel, probably someone from the administrative back operations. However if it was on a busy weekend and I would be in position where there were no rooms left, that would be trouble. For a Marriott Sheraton hotel, it was a shock to experience this. My stay did meet its goals for my visit but these things I've listed shouldn't have happened. There just needs to be improvements for sure.

Addy the overnight audit customer service rep was awesome and very helpful. He also was dressed very nice, clean, and professional. He really says a lot coming in seeing him first. But on the down side there was a sewage smell when we first arrived around 4 or 5. Also our shower door wasn't working properly. I would come back but I would have some requests

Convenient location, just next to 270. Hotel is clean, but dated, could use renovation. Rooms are decent size, with nice panoramic windows, ventilation is not the greatest and windows do not open. Like many legacy starwood properties, this Sheraton has a lounge for elite members, it is on the 5th floor - cozy, but small (3-4 tables), can get crowded. You get breakfast starting 6:30am and afternoon snack starting 6pm at the lounge. Stay here if you just need a simple confy place for a night or two.
