Shopping experience here is really bad! Employee watch you like a hawk in here. I am a regular here but this high security manage to make the shopping experience worse, never experienced anything like this before. Like this guy literally followed me till i left the door it's crazy and absolutely unnecessary.

Just another store that refuses to have any cashiers available. It's also very poor customer service, when staff just push you out of a cashier line and tell you that you can only use self check out.

My mom went there with her service dog and one of the employees literally kicked her out in the most terrible and embarrassing way because she said that my moms dog pooped outside one day and she took a picture of my mom last time but there is not poo anywhere this is very wrong and illegal because my mom doesn’t speak English so she couldn’t defend herself showing the service dog card this lady was so rude with my mom that she’s sick that’s why she needs the dog this needs to stop and if you’re not pet friendly at least say it and ask for the service dog car!!!!!! This situation makes me so mad and disappointed because I always buy my groceries there because they are usually “respectful” but this lady does not match the rest of the work team

Store is clean but the owner refuses to pay enough employees working at cash registers. There was only one express lane open and the self checkout is 15 items for less. You’d think the owner would understand that people need more than 15 items. Best to go to another location if you shop for the week. But it’s fine if you go for a couple of things at a time.

I like the spacious store overall. They are always understaffed at night which results in a maddeningly long wait at checkout. No self-checkout available. Any attempt at relaxed shopping will be interrupted by loud announcements or advertisements. Good floral department. Starbucks inside. Many prices about right but a few items are shocking. Smoked salmon and most any produce marked organic are sometimes kind of steep. Ill say it again: Lose the loud announcements.

It's 6 o'clock and I just wanted a salad from the deli. You literally scoop it in a container and weigh it. But apparently they are closed. Even though the lady behind the counter is working. She said there is no one here for the deli. But you're standing behind the deli wrapping sandwiches. Ok . No problem.

I shop here nearly daily because it's so convenient. The only issue is that I ALWAYS have items scan at the wrong price. So keep an eye on the prices here because they will overcharge you! But they'll also fix it for you at the register if you prove that it's scanning incorrectly, it's just such a pain to always have to deal with.

I never feel safe coming in here there is high watch alert be warned I feel as if I’mBeing stalked in the store best to know what you’re looking for grab it pay for it take your receipt keep it in hand till you get to your car or the door and leave . There’s better Safeways where you don’t have to worry about this issue . Understandable we live in crazy times but to just feel that anxiety of shopping here and being watched like an hawk is unnecessary

I used to like coming here. Now everytime I come here I feel pressured and feel like I don’t belong. I know they have had recent thefts which caused them to heighten security. They have an armed security guard and I can guarantee they have loss prevention monitoring the cams. There’s no reason for me to be looked at as a criminal everytime I come here. A few weeks ago I had bought a few gift cards and was carded for the first time in my life for buying gift cards. Again today I bought a gift card and both staff came over to me in self checkout. I’m not sure what they’re looking for but I’ve personally never stolen anything in my life and personally I’ve never deal with anything like this in my life. It’s sad that I still have to deal with this in 2023. I live within walking distance of this Safeway but will probably go to a different one from now on.

This place is amazing. I don't have a car but the 46 bus stops right in front northbound. Southbound you need to cross Rockville Pike and there is no light, but it's easy to get to right at the Twinbrook subway station also. This is place is huge. The produce is 3/4 of the front part of the store, which morphs smoothly into the deli and bakery section. The usual drinks in the produce dept like bolthouse farms and pom tea are not all in one place so you have to look in multiple refrigerated sections for them, which is inefficient. The refrigerated salad dressing is totally separate from the drinks/juices. No salad or hot food self-serve bar, but hot food counter, sushi counter, prepackaged entrees and salads, whole hot chickens, and large artisan cheese selection. Every day is different, but they had green bean casserole as a side the day I was there in the hot deli. No mac and cheese, though, which is the best. 4 kinds of hot chicken--fried, baked, peruvian, and habanero. The peruvian is great, it used to only be the whole chicken. This store is worth a special trip and great addition to the neighborhood. Much better than harris teeter at North Bethesda. Customer service is often unstaffed and you need to notify a cashier you need customer service.

Better prices and good selection, BUT you have to check the dates on everything you pick up. I’m sitting at home with expired ranch and expired taco shells. The items have been expired for months. It’s been a common occurrence the past 4 years I have shopped here. Now I have to go back to get a refund and check all of my items I just bought. I always forget to check them all while I’m in the store. Bought 10/18/2023. Expired June 30, 2023.
