The staff was very knowledgeable about all of the animals. They were very friendly and good at matching animals to potential parents. Lots of great animals that need homes. Come check it out!

This Used to be a good place for volunteers. The staff is ignorant. Cats are kept in cages and no human is permitted to engage in play with them. Play is extremely important for cats. Much like humans, cats have a critical period to engage with humans. A volunteer who had washed his hands was greeting the cats only to get scolded by the ignorant staff member threatening to put hand sanitizer and threatening he was getting the cats sick. Hint: you cannot get sickness from a person who is not sick. Wear a face mask ? and bring hand sanitizer.

My cat was neutered. They were very kind and accommodating because I lived very far away.

I had a terrible experience at this place. But what can you expect from a place that is paid through the county!? Their only concern is to be there everyday and clock in to make sure they’ll get paid, they don’t care about your dog or even about your time. They bring up excuses and even make up stuff to not see your dog. I wish I could rate ZERO stars.

Used PTO for an appointment that was canceled less than two hours before the day of the appointment. The workers tone was very nonchalant and they did not make any accommodations OR apologize for the inconvenience. They canceled last minute and casually suggested I schedule a new appointment date online with no availability in the current month. FOH

My friend Emma, found the love of her life today. Ruth "Barker" Ginsburg. She's the sweetest and most gentle soul. Thank you MCHS for your care.

Great place.....got there at 745 a.m. and still had to wait 45 minutes because they were short staffed! Other than that everything else went smoothly!

It's an ok place to volunteer for. Hard-working volunteers walk the dogs in hot and cold weather and help with the cats. While most of the staff members tend to be kind, a few of the staff members could be nicer and more courteous like saying a greeting and introducing themselves and cognizant that many volunteers were with the Humane Society a lot longer than the current staff members. The current staff member do not permit any socializing with the cats. Too bad since cats need play and interaction. The other option is the County shelter.

Excellent staff with a great love for the critters. We adopted 2 6-month-old kittens and couldn't be happier.

I called the Montgomery County Humane Society on Friday regarding an injured pigeon at the Bethesda Metro Station and they said they'd send someone. They never sent anyone and the pigeon died and is still there.I'm not donating money to this place every again and neither should anyone else. They clearly don't care and now I'm experiencing guilt even though I did what I could by contacting the local Humane Society.Inhumane Society, that's their new name.

I took my cat to get neuter last Monday. I'm very happy with the procedure. And the way the treatment went and the care they give to the pets and also the attention they give to the pet parents. Totally recommend them, the price is also very fair and the service is outstanding.
