Cute Japanese grocery store and gift shop, everything is priced well and the employees are very nice. It’s pretty small, but packed full of unique snacks & cute gifts. Worth checking out if you’re in the area.

Maruichi is a Japanese Grocery that sells Japanese snacks, food, condiments, sauces, alcohol, beauty products, and more. They have a great selection of sake and Japanese beer. I picked up a package of Puchao gummy soft candies and a jar of cooked/seasoned enoki mushrooms. I hope they sell Kuze Fuku products someday.

Tetsu and staff were super helpful and patient assisting my girlfriend and I navigate the well stocked store. They are a wealth of knowledge and I can’t recommend this store more! Best experience and Tetsu’s recommendations on home made sushi + miso were amazing. If I could give more stars I would, shop here!!

Loved this place. I needed Japanese seasoning and found it here. The store is bigger than it looks on the outside. Very interesting selection of items. I want to go back and explore more! They have saki, frozen foods, soups, seasonings, saki glasses... It's an assortment of various Japanese items. One thing I wish is that they had English translations. Some things I have no idea what they are. Either way, reasonable prices and I really like stores like these.

The prices here are a bit higher than your average asian grocery store, but it was still fun to look around and explore. While they sell mostly food products, there were also some cosmetics and cooking/cleaning tools.

Maruichi is your best source for Japanese grocery items in the area. They carry essential Japanese cooking ingredients, fresh produce, frozen food, baked goods, snacks and dessert. They also carry household items like beauty products, shampoo, conditioner, dishes, bowls, etc.Compared to H-mart and other grocery stores, the store is small. But they carry items that are near impossible to find anywhere else.

This is a relatively small grocery so you won't find a wide range of products just like a big popular Japanese groceries in west coast. However, this place had basic necessities for Japanese cooking/meals/life in general. They have a decent amount of frozen section, snacks, and condiments, which are all useful as a Japanese. Also, they have a small section of chilled items, including a good organic miso and my favorite cream puffs (ミニシュークリーム). Maybe a bit pricy but I'm happy that I can get what I need without traveling all the way to Japan or waiting online order.

This is in the same shopping center as Temari, just up at the top of it. They have all kinds of Japanese food here and all of it is good. The main thing we were picking up from here was Umeshu, especially since we couldn't find it anywhere else. For those curious, Umeshu is an alcoholic beverage that contains ume at the bottom of the bottle that can also be eaten. Just sit on a bottle and let it age to make those fruits stronger in taste. Warning though: the fruits still have their pits so be careful. They can also get you torn up faster than you might realize! Luckily, there is now a liquor store in Delaware that carries it so you don't have to travel all the way to pick up a few bottles. Theres plenty of food and snacks here to keep you busy too.Really nice little place! If you go to Rockville, make sure you stop here.

Parking is easiest in the rear. Nice selection of seedlings, great frozen food choices, things I haven’t tasted for years. They also carry health and beauty aids.

Such a quaint Asian grocery store! A lot of authentic Japanese goodies, from snacks to prepared desserts to skincare and kitchenware! It’s definitely tight and cramped, but I find that charming.Tip: If you’re into Asian skincare products like me, it’s much cheaper buying it here than at places like sephora or ulta!Employees are very nice and polite too.

Been going here for years and the amount of stuff they can cram into that little location astounds me… great selection of Japanese food and items. I especially love their onigiri. They have a pretty impressive freezer section, and I always get more than I can carry from the packaged meal section - no such thing as too many curry rice and miso soup packets!! And can’t forget their condiment section!Ok but what finally pushed me to review after all these years is the fact they had amasake! I tried it at a ryokan in Japan this year and became obsessed with it but also sad because I doubted I’d fine it in the US. I decided to swing by maruichi and just see if they had it… and was honestly shocked that they did! Same brand and everything! This place really can’t be beat!
