I called because I was shopping around for bathing prices in the area. The front desk couldn't just give me a price for a Pomeranian.. she said they only had prices for a haircut. I told her she just needed a bath. So I said ok then what's a price for a chihuahua so I can have a rough guesstimate.. she replied "what vet are you calling from?" Very unprofessional. So don't call for pricing on a bath. Waste of time

Very happy with Ken Haven. Dr. Manzoor, the pet techs and front office. Staff are helpful, efficient kind, gentle. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because I can't compare prices to other vets. I do know they helped us during Covid which sadly our historical vet was not able to. Highly recommend KenHaven animal hospital

Great place for your pets! Staff is caring and responsive to your questions. It's always clean and welcoming. It's not the fanciest place but that'll doesn't matter. It's the level of care that's important

Nice staff. Attentive and loving towards animals. So much better than a franchise animal hospital. Decor could updating, otherwise a nice place. Parking is easy. Knowledge and patient staff.

All the animals I've had since I was very young I have been coming here. When I moved back from Co. with my dog decided to come back. The place has the best customer service & it's very clean. The vet I had when I was young is still there. It was so nice seeing him again along with the other lady that's been there for as long as I can remember. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone. Tina Raper & Coco

This is my new vet. I couldn’t get an appointment the last three times I went to my previous vet and KenHaven was able to see my dog within 24 hours. The front office staff, veterinarian assistant and Dr. Manzoor were absolutely wonderful. A woman in the waiting room said she had been seeing them for 20 years even though she had moved away. I felt that myPuppy was very well taken care of!

They are amazing! They helped get Jonas fit in for a check up when he was under the weather. We took him home and after fluids and antibiotics he was already acting more himself! He is doing much better now and has his appetite back. The staff and doctor at Kenhaven are wonderful. I'm just happy my baby is okay !

I came to Kenhaven today, recommended by someone whose dog is treated here. My cat needed to be put to sleep and I wanted to take her to a place that would treat her respectfully and kindly. This was not the case. After telling the receptionist twice, the tech and the vet that I wanted to be with my cat when she passed, they took my cat out of the room to euthanize her without telling me that was their intention. The vet and tech told me they were taking her out of the room to prep her for the euthanasia. They brought her back to me after she had already passed and “gave me a few minutes” unbeknownst to me that they had already proceeded with the euthanasia. I thought I was being given these final minutes to say goodbye to her, but she was already gone. Do NOT come to Kenhaven if you want your cat to have a peaceful passing, be treated gently and with respect. They were very rough with her. My cat was 18 years old and needed to be handled gently but instead the vet and the techs yanked her from her crate making her cry out in pain, when administering the first shot to make her relax (pre-euthanasia). They insisted I couldn’t touch my cat but I did just that since obviously they were hurting her and she was scared. After they returned my dead cat to me, they insisted I was the one who misunderstood their intention when they took her from the room. They insisted they couldn’t let me be with her when she passed due to Covid, even though I was able to be with her when they administered the first shot to make her relax. The only times the vet, the techs and the receptionist were mindful of my privacy and needs for my pet, is when I was very upset with how they were treating her- when other customers in the lobby could hear what was going on. It was only then that they wanted to ensure the door was closed so no one could hear/see what was happening in the room where they saw my cat. I wanted to be the last one to hold her when she died, wrapped in her blanket I brought from home. Instead she was taken from me and brought back to me dead in a towel with bleach stains and holes.

Sorry, Kenhaven, but there are plenty of other providers in the area for routine care of pets without your "discovery" of more health problems resulting in a close to $1000 bill. Later stating that the completely unnecessary blood test and radiology consult could have been cancelled if my husband who picked up our pet at closing would have just asked, was especially offensive when I called as soon as you opened in the morning to inquire about the necessity. Extra, unnecessary testing and multiple medications for our 13 year old pet we brought in for an extreme nail trim (due to COVID the nails were very looong) and a couple of other minor complaints we had that were resolved with a physical exam. This should not result in half our mortgage payment for a bill. Maybe I am just naive because the last vet I saw the bill for was in Silver Spring where they did what was needed and the bill was more than half the total with Kenhaven. I think Kenhaven plays on a person's emotions to convince them to taje unnecessary and costly measures. When I have to dip into my savings to pay a bet bill, I call BS. Stay away.

Always had a pleasant experience with this animal hospital. They are always willing to accommodate my last minute emergency and the staff is always so informative and helpful!

I am a first time dog mom so taking my puppy to the vet for the first time was a scary endeavor. However, as soon as I walked through the door at Kenhaven my worries subsided. The staff there is phenomenal!! I was in awe at how well they treated my puppy and I. The staff made sure my pup felt comfortable before starting the exam and we left feeling well taken care of. I can't see myself going to any any other clinic for our veterinary needs!

Lack of customer service and unprofessional. Working in the healthcare field myself, I understand the stress and need to multitask in a face paced environment. However, to be unhelpful and to get irritated at customers and bluntly rude is unnecessary. I had taken my pup in for a routine visit and also mentioned that she had loose stools. I was not asked further details prior to her being taken back. At the end of a very brief visit (less than 15 minute appointment + 25 minutes waiting to be seen) I was told that she was fine. Fast forward 2 days later. She is ill; has a loss of appetite x2.5 days, throwing up and is lethargic. I called to make an appointment only to be rudely told that the receptionists dog "doesn't eat for days at a time and he is fine" so it is nothing to worry about and can wait to be seen because the doctor is leaving for the day. Also, I asked to have her nails trimmed during the same visit, and paid for the service, her nails were long and they barely cut them. You can still hear them clicking on the ground. I will be gladly taking my dog elsewhere to ensure her needs are met. If you're okay with lack of communication, lack of empathy towards your animal and blatant lack of respect then this place is for you.

I have taken my dogs and cats there for many years. I can’t count how many I’ve had. They’ve gotten good care. However, I recently got a job at a different vet clinic. Understandably it’s easier for me to take my pets to work with me where they can be in daycare or by me and also be seen. It took over a week, 4 calls, and I had to take time out of my work day the day of the appointment at my clinic for one dog because the records for him hadn’t been sent. For my second dog it took 3 calls and about a week as well. I’m now on dog three and it’s been multiple calls, including a lie about how busy they were to get me off the phone, AND HIS RECORDS STILL HAVEN’T BEEN SENT. Additionally, the staff who have previously been friendly and polite have now become rude, dismissive, and honestly hostile when I’ve called. All because I’m switching to the vet practice where I work now. So in short, if you plan on ever moving vets or even potentially having to switch for any reason stay far far away or expect to not get records in any timely manner, if you even get complete ones

Take any negative comment with a grain of salt. Especially phone conversations. I've met and worked with everyone that works here and they are all professional and fall in love with every animal that they treat. I've taken my cat to 6-8 different vets between Rockville and Pittsburgh. Kenhaven was the first that didn't want to just toss meds at him. They thought inside and outside of the box, giving me more options than anyone had in the past. After a 2 year battle against a chronic upper respiratory infection, that left snot rockets EVERYWHERE. Willy, who is a Toyger, got a Rhino blow out done and hasn't launched one snot rocket. Love this vet, and highly recommend them.

RUDE at front desk! i've loved this place but this lady brought down my mood with her bad attitude.
