I had what I’ll call a frustrating experience with a nurse practitioner named, Sophie. She had no compassion for my request for an antibiotic. I’ve never before had to give a negative review however this time I feel it’s needed. We as patients not only need treatment for our health issues but we also deserve compassion and I tell you there was none. I was in the office on Thursday with my PC , received the last Covid vaccine and on Friday I was sick. On Monday I had a virtual appointment, called back on Wednesday to request antibiotic and had to experience Sophie… I was trying to tell her I know my body and needed an antibiotic but she had no compassion at all and in her words “ I stand by my recommendation”. I felt helpless at this point and this is why I feel it necessary to give this review. I hope Sophie learns from this. I also sent message on my chart, hopefully she will read it. I don’t expect a response back from her, but needed to try to let her know, she needs compassion for patients.

We left this practice last year because of their unprofessionalism. The medical staff is fine, but the practice generally doesn't prioritize patients and dragged customers into their battle with an insurance company. Also, the admin departments clearly don't talk to each other. Getting our records transferred to our new practice was painful and they made it as difficult as possible. But we were reminded today why the change was necessary - almost a year after leaving, we just received a call from them asking when we want to schedule our next appointment.

It's a waste of time to visit in this office, front desk people are grumpy, doctor's secretaries are grumpy, their doctors are incompetent. I rather have a quack doctor than any doctor from this practice.

Dr. Meng was amazing on my first visit! She was comprehensive, knowledgeable, and was able to appropriately communicate to me about my medical conditions. The facility was much better than where I going previously.

If you are sick after 5pm or on the weekends you get to talk with a nurse who can do nothing more than tell you to go to the Emergency Room. And it often takes 1-2 hours for the nurse to call you back.

The phone rings and rings and rings, with periodic interruptions identifying high call volume and canned Musak. When you are finally able to speak to someone that isn't a recording, they are curt and act as though you're bothering them and/or they're doing you a favor by taking your call. I was fortunate enough to converse with one polite young lady, but the behavior was a turn off and soured me on remaining with this practice. The last straw was being called A KAREN (albeit that is my name, it's a slur and I simply won't tolerate it). Best of luck. Back to my previous doctor, regardless of the distance. I'll have to bite the bullet and have someone drive me, when John Hopkins is within WALKING DISTANCE of my home.

I've been with this practice for the past 3-4 years. Started off really decent, now has devolved into an overscheduled, bloated practice that can't accommodate seeing patients in a timely manner. I have been recently ill with Covid and am also chronically ill. I've had incredible difficulty being able to get answers as to what type of treatment I should be doing, medication questions, and so on. I have a dr at this practice I very much like and trust--problem is, I no longer get to see her. Ever. I am told she's unavailable and that I can see a different dr instead. The questions I leave on the portal for my dr are answered 2-3 days later, by someone OTHER than my dr. In other words, I don't actually have a dr there anymore. I don't get to see her, so what's the point? For my case of Covid, I was seen a few days after I'd called to request an appt; virtually. I followed that with questions which take days to answer. The nurses's helpline spoke to me one evening, told me they'd speak to a dr and call me right back, and never did. Simply never called back. Unfortunately this practice has become a bit of a joke. It saddens me, because I like my dr, but as I said, she's not available to me anymore so there is no point. I'll likely be looking for another practice as soon as I'm able.

After a second consecutive year of sub-par care provided by this organization, I am leaving this practice. Here's why: 1) It takes 3-5 days to schedule an appointment. If you are ill, this is not practical. 2) In order to get a Covid test, you must first wait the 3-5 days to be scheduled a virtual call with your provider, and only the provider can order the test. Then you'd have to go into the office for a test, then wait for the results. 3) Most egregiously, I saw a provider in June 2021 who made racist remarks during my Obgyn visit. I'm Asian American, but the racist remarks were directed toward the African culture. He actually said during my visit, "where are we living, in Africa? You need to start showering twice a day." This was unacceptable to me. As of this writing, I believe he is still employed/seeing patients at the Bethesda office. Goodbye, and good riddance JHCP!

Just had my first appointment at this practice. The staff was courteous and very careful with Covid protocols. My husband and I were seen by Dr. Kilavos whom we had seen before in another practice. She is caring and thorough and we didn't feel rushed. We feel good that we are now part of their network.

I need the doctor to hear my chest and the doctor can’t see me? I guess everything now is COVID. What a disrespectful way to treat people and patients.

Extremely attentive providers as well as admin staff. Had a difficult situation recently with a family member. Patricia Young was fully vested in our well being, took her time to understand the situation and provide thoughtful care. The admin staff, Lexis, Sanaa, and every one else we spoke to bent over backwards to help with emergency appointments, referrals, and getting documents prepped and ready for us.

I have been coming here for about 10 years. Practice is great! Dr. Mehta is great. Unfortunately she will be leaving. I had a 5:30pm appointment and was seen on time. I love that they are able to accommodate longer hours to be seen. Staff are always friendly.

Dr. Bhatt is by far one of the most amazing pediatricians we have ever been to. Having four kids and being in the military we have been to a lot of pediatricians. She is very knowledgeable, thorough, and compassionate. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone!

Worst service provider. I have been calling them for past two days to get an appointment and no one is picking up the call. I also called after hours and I was told a registered nurse will call me in an hour or two but I did not receive any call
