They repaired a 100 year old bible in shambles. The binding was broken in several places, the cover was off . And my dad years ago covered the cover with gobs of tape - it was a horrible mess. But it contained writing from my grandfather who I never met (he died when my dad was eight). The team said it could be repaired and worked hard to take off all the tape and repair the original cover to like new condition. It is simply beautiful now. Sarah told me to save the cover for you will be holding the same cover that your grandfather held almost 100 years ago!. I highly recommend them - they care! It is a special treasure that is also now completely usable. THANK YOU!

About 2 years ago I brought them an old Bible to have the cover replaced and some pages added to the front and back. I was very disappointed in the result and the quality of the materials used. I had to get them to rebind it over again because it was so tight I could barely see the words in the spine. The piece of page just inside the actual covers is already buckling where it was glued on. It cost me over $200. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone with a prized book to cover. I will say though that the customer service was helpful. They will try to make it right but I just don't think they're capable of giving you a really nice rebind.

A bit disappointed. Was expecting like new book covers, but probably because I wanted to preserve the inscriptions inside the covers from the 1940s.

Several years ago I had a large paperback book rebound in leather. The workmanship of the bookbinder was excellent and so now I am returning with another project. The shop has a number of example projects to assist in making decisions and demonstrate the expected quality.

We were looking for a special going away gift for an employee and came up with the idea of having the papers he had written bound in a leather volume. Naturally, we waited until the last minute, but Sarah at Distinctive Bookbinding came to the rescue and bent over backwards to help us create the perfect gift. Sure we had to pay a bit extra - but many companies charge a whole lot more, and it does take a lot of time and attention to detail to do this kind of work. We were so very pleased with the outcome and will most definitely use Distinctive Bookbinding's services in the future. It's an excellent idea for elegant, professional and timeless gift, too.
