My very young minor daughter wanted to deposit a check from her grandparents into her account at the ATM. The machine would now accept her ATM card, and we requested assistance from the staff inside. The the banker (I think his name was Adrian) asked for photo identification from a small child, which we did not have, and he refused to assist. I offered my credentials since the account is a custodial account, and the banker refused to review my identification because it's my daughter's account. I requested to speak with a manager, and the banker said no other staff was available; therfore, no further help was offered.

Amazed at how worthless the workers here are. Seems like they are only good for deposits or cashing checks. Anything else and they tell you they can't do it and you have to go online or call someone. Crazy how crappy this bank has gotten. Time to look for a new bank.

I want to recognize one of the associates at this location for excellent customer service. I was in on the morning on Sept 3rd to get a medallion related to my recently-deceased aunt's estate. It was easy to make an appointment the day before (and one of the few banks/locations with weekend hours) and I barely had to wait when I arrived, despite it being a Sat morning. But I'm writing especially to recognize the "Medallion Man" I think his name was Steve but I could be mistaken. He had long curly hair. He was one of the first person through all of the estate tasks I've had to do that showed empathy and treated me as a human. Other (bigger) banks have been perfunctory, harried, and disorganized. Thank you to Capital One for making a tough process a little easier - I will certainly remain a customer.

The ATM took more than 600 dollars I was depositing and didn't give it back or put it in my bank account.

Overstaffed bank with most agents sleeping. I have counted 9 employees in the bank, but only one counter is open. Don't waste your time here.

I needed to open up a local checking & savings account in the DC area. I moved to Silver Spring MD in August of 2021 from Cincinnati OH & had put off doing so until now. My dad died about a week after I had moved. He lived in Ft. Thomas KY an eight plus hour drive from me. Since that time in addition to grief I am still going through there has been life insurance checks and other financial things to deal with. My car loan that I just paid off was with Capital One and there are numerous branches in the DC area. I wanted a bank I could walk into not just an online one. I went to the bank to open up the account with a real person. I could have done this online but there are a lot of details to read and agree to! I wanted a real person to ask my questions & express concerns too. It turns out that I had to do it online anyway standing in front of a teller window. It felt really weird to do it this way. This may have been because they didn't have any offices open just teller windows and the associate was very patient & polite with me. However I could still tell he was not happy about it. Also the bank seemed small on the inside with only 3 teller windows & a small lobby. It is free standing branch and the building has an old traditional banking architecture. I liked that feature and this made me feel a lot better when I walked out of the place. I am not sure why! The reason I asked so many questions was that when I searched online and compared banks they all highlighted their services like earning higher interest on the checking & savings. The truth is none of them give you much interest unless it is strictly an online bank & then you might get a slightly higher amount. They also offered bonuses if you opened up an account but there are always strings attached! Monthly account draining fees can be avoided too but only by setting up minimal balances and automatic direct deposits. Higher balances and deposits get you less or maybe no fees. When you tap on the "open an account" tab you don't see this anymore. There's all the personal and financial questions to answer and fine print to read and agree with! I needed to be able to ask questions like these as I opened the checking & savings accounts on my phone. Now that things are set up I am satisfied so far. I have a new ATM/debt card to use and fee free access to a lot of ATM machines in the DC area. Also I can conveniently cash checks when it get them. Until Next time be kind to each other. @yelpdc #capitalone #banking #loans #moneymarketfunds

They opened three locations in Manhattan near me. Now they have closed all three and the closest is not close. I went to the final open branch (that is closing) and they didn't even have $10s - only 5s and 20s. They have a number of cash machines in different areas but they are all in businesses that close at a certain time and some are McDonald's. Really. I am going to withdraw $800 from a McD's? And what if I want to cash or deposit a check? I want a teller not a machine or online banking. F*** them. I am closing my accounts and going back to TD bank.

As usual long line, 1 teller open. Never fails. 20 min for a cc payment. They are competing with BOA for worst service. Stick to online if you can as the service here is atrocious.
