I don't know what is going on with the Open Sky Credit card. I lost my card and cannot get ahold of anyone to help me.

Stole My Deposit for 2 Years and Have Not Returned It via their subsidiary OpenSkyWhat started as a credit-building journey turned into a credit builder scam. I entrusted OpenSky with a credit card deposit initial amount of $1,000 to begin building credit. As I further trusted them, I increased my deposit to $1,500. At one point, I almost went ahead and increased my deposit further to $5,000. Thankfully, something just made me decide not to do it. For 2 years straight, I made all my payments on time; maybe just one was slightly late at most, but overall I was nearly perfect. Then out of the blue, they closed my account for no reason. At first, I was devastated because I wanted to keep building my credit, but ultimately I accepted it and was doing fine getting accepted with normal credit companies. However, OpenSky would not return my security deposit of $1,500. Their customer service often has hours of wait, no email, no chat, no text. They have a sort of P.O. Box for mail and a long customer service wait nightmare. For years, I have waited to get this security deposit back, being tossed from one department to the next. Only today have I discovered I have to talk to the "Carson Smithfield" department (brand-new information) to attempt to get my security deposit back. I've had enough. These individuals should not be allowed to operate! They prey on people needing to build credit, then withhold their deposit. Give me back my security deposit, OpenSky!

I'm sure many of the five star reviews for this bank are fake because this is the worst bank I've ever done business with. I had a contract to sell my condominium with a buyer that had financing approval from this bank. This bank was the sole reason the contract was cancelled, they are liars and scammers!!!I've never had issues with the appraisal process before but I did with this bank and it was completely the bank's fault. The appraisal for my property came in $30k lower than the contract price which was bad enough. However, the underwriter then decided to dispute the appraisal, which is normal when the value comes in lower than the contract price. Usually, it's to try to increase the value in the appraisal to get it closer to the contract price, so the buyer can buy the property with the majority of the bank financing and not have to makeup the gap with cash out of pocket. However, this particular underwriter told the appraiser to lower the value another $30k to match another property that recently sold and to ignore the other properties that were similar that sold higher. The second appraisal lowered the value of property $60k than the contract price!!!! They clearly were trying to manipulate the appraisal process to reduce the value of my property, possibly to flip it down the road?!?!? Anyway it was insane to think I would agree to reduce the price by $60k, any underwriter should know that that decision would kill the sales contract, because a seller would be insane to accept that, but they tried to do it, such scammers!!!Of course I disputed the second appraisal, I honestly tried to meet them half way and told them to use the first appraisal instead, but they said they couldn't...such liars!!!! The loan officer then consistently lied to me and told me the appraiser botched the appraisal but it wasn't true. She even said they blacklisted the appraiser!?!? Also, she lied and told me it wasn't the bank that disputed the appraisal but a separate appraisal office outside of the bank, when in fact it was the bank. They have another profile on yelp with a much lower rating. Avoid this bank like the plague, they are liars and scammers!!!

I've had 2 great experiences with Capital Bank in the last 4 years. Most recently over the summer. Boris and his team did an absolutely phenomenal job working with me and keeping me updated during such a volatile rate environment. They took great care to ensure I properly understood everything. My family cannot thank them enough. We love our new house!

I have worked with Capital Bank since 2016 for both commercial and private banking and finance. The team there has always been very responsive, helpful and thoughtful. Every bump in the road being navigated with a clear view to help, promote and secure my business. I have never reviewed a bank before having always had mediocre service in the past. In this case and with the team at Capital Bank I want to give credit where credit is due, they have been and continue to be a pleasure to work with.

I highly recommend Sara Knight. Purchased our first home in the crazy market during the pandemic. She was available all our questions quickly when needed. Her positive energy during this difficult process was much appreciated. We will definitely be referring our friends and family and be coming back for any mortgage needs in the upcoming years.

I used my Opensky Visa credit card to purchase minutes for my phone service for $12.20. The company through which I tried to make the purchase didn't give me the minutes that I ordered. But Opensky charged my card for the minutes anyway. Because of whatever is going on with the USPS. I never received the notices. When Opensky was finally able to reach me, I was told that there were late fees amounting to $64.80. That wasn't the end of it, they also deducted $81.50 from my $300 deposit for a total amount of $145.30. All of for a $12.20 purchase of minutes that I never received. Then they have the unmitigated nerve to tell me to dispute the charges with the phone carrier that I was trying to buy minutes from. To add more insult to injury they claim that they aren't affiliated with Capital One NA. Both companies are cheats and liars. If anyone has to get a credit card, my advice is to run, run away as far and as fast as you can. Opensky is rotten to the core.

OpenSky/Capital Bank -- Please correct what you just did to my credit report and I will update my review -- Buyer Beware - OpenSky Credit Card with Capital Bank ruined my credit after paying an old forgotten account in full upon learning about. I had a secured OpenSky account and then faced a disaster hardship and had to fight for my family which required extensive travel. The account was closed and charged off years ago, which I don't understand since OpenSky is a secured account. I found the old account in a credit report with a small amount due and paid it off. At first I inquired with Capital Bank/OpenSky about how I could owe money on a secured credit card and got a marketing email reply to open a new OpenSky credit card. I then called Capital Bank/OpenSky and paid the small amount due in full. Since this account was to build credit and I faced a severe hardship and then faced COVID-19 during 2020 and 2021, I asked if they could remove the account status. Instead, they fraudulently updated the account with Equifax to show the account had been open the entire time, which is false since it had been under closed accounts since 2017/2018 which is why I missed it, and Capital Bank/OpenSky wrecked my credit which dropped 20 points. Capital Bank just committed fraud by claiming a closed secured account had been open for years, which it was not, to wreck my credit. I have a perfect record otherwise across all my accounts and only tried to pay off OpenSky when I learned about it. I should have left it alone, which is wrong, Capital Bank/OpenSky is a disaster. In my opinion any Bank which lures people in to build credit claiming no bad effect on credit reporting and then deliberately falsifies an old closed account to change it to show it was an open account upon learning about it and paying it in full, now showing for years as unpaid over a very small amount of money, does not belong in business. Buyer beware - if appears to good to be true it usually is.
