No after hours key drop off. Rental van was pretty beat up, but otherwise a smooth experience.

My Sister has had a reservation since Oct 8 for a truck for today the 28th. They called her yesterday to confirm again for the pick up. Today she calls 40 minutes before pick up to make sure the truck is ready, and they’ve told her they don’t have a truck for her at this location. Told her to drive to another location that is 3 hours away to pick up another one! Are you kidding? We have a car rented in Nashville that HAS TO be picked up by noon or we loose our money. Not to mention beds are broke down, linens packed, heck, everything is packed! Guy at the store said the district manager tried to call, that was a lie! We have no missed calls on the phone. So these people will make up any storyline to make it fit for them. No discount offered for NO TRUCK, now we are in a scramble to find a truck with less than 12 hours before we are supposed to leave. Budget really dropped the ball on this one. Guess contacting our lawyer for loss money and time and possibly job, will be our next resource. It’s sad that I’m these hard days, You have to go through this kind of stuff with such unprofessional companies.

Unreliable. Its like the Seinfeld skit. You can take a reservation but cannot keep a reservation. Despite reservation, no truck available and caused massive headaches and cost to us. Stay away and go with different company...(at least at different site maybe?)(Ok, update - they found a truck. Still not ideal but at least they are trying)

Tried my hardest to reserve via their website, but the site kept bombarding me with ads.... Ads for (wait for it) their company. So I went to the Budget site and couldn't use the Budget site because the Budget site kept displaying intrusive ads for Budget.

It's true what they say: you get what you pay for, however, it was nicer than expected. They allow 1-way rentals, and are much cheaper than any competition we saw. (4-days, flat price, no fee per mile). Truck cab very clean, truck box decently so. We had the F-350 chassis with a 16' box. Advertised as 6-10 mpg, we averaged 8.2 driving from Rockville to Indianapolis. *No cruise control*, and no lock for the back garage-type-door, but not a bad drive. Hope their business increases once this 'pandemic' goes away ...if it ever does.

I wish I could put less than 1/2 a star. This place is ridiculous!!! Scheduled car pick up at 1130 and we have been waiting for over 20 mins. There is only 1 staff working while there are at least five customers waiting. Service is horrific and the promised time is not met. People are renting cars for a reason and need to meet time for flights and travel. I would have screamed if we were missing our flight. Extremely unprofessional and not worth the money. DO NOT RECOMMEND, unless you have ample time to waste and wait for someone to help you... We WILL NOT be using this service again!

Worst service EVER!! Had a car reserved online for Memorial Day Weekend and pick up time was at 9:00 AM. I arrived 10 minutes prior and there were 3 people ahead of me just waiting. The manager and one staff person were on the phone with Comcast trying to solve a connection issue with the systems. First flag: no acknowledgement from the staff that a customer (me) had just walked in to get a rental. No communication, no eye contact to let me know what was going on. I had to ask the others who were waiting what is going on. Second flag: the manager was huffing and puffing over the phone while talking to some customer service rep., she clearly does not know how to handle herself under pressure and she was very annoyed and agitated. Third flag: (most important one) she started verbally calling out date of birth, drivers license number, credit card number to the person over the phone (it was a manager in another location and she was trying to get the customers' information into the system to get the car rental process in order) this whole thing took place for 2 customers publicly in the presence of 4 other customers waiting around. What were the chances that someone recorded all that info that was being traded publicly? There was no awareness for privacy AT ALL!! Private and personal information was publicly announced. I can give you my social security number while at it to make the whole thing well worth it!! In the midst of all of this, 2 men walk in wanting a car and she treats them as a priority over the remaining customers (she announces to her staff these are her friends!) Way to go giving priority to your friends over the other customers that have been waiting for hours! At some point the other location puts the manager and her one staff on hold and stops responding/answering their calls because they were busy as well. So the manager decides to drive to the other location and run system from there for the customers that are still waiting for a car rental, while her staff helped connect her on the other end. At the end of all of this mess I left 2.5 hours later with a car completely different from the size I had reserved online! By far the worst service ever! I would have canceled my reservations but all the other car rentals in the area were out of cars since it was Memorial Day Weekend! My final advice: Lady, you seriously need to learn proper customer service techniques and how to handle yourself under pressure!

Took forever to check out the truck, then took extra days to check in the truck and by then somehow the fuel tank was short 10 gallons (despite the fact that I filled up the tank before I returned it).

I would give it a zero star it this was possible. I booked a 12' truck on February 17 for a move on March 30 to pick up at 8am in Rockville, MD and drop off at the same location at 8:30pm (conveniently 2 miles from new apartment). I received a call on March 29 at 4pm informing me that the truck was unavailable at this location, and that the only truck available was a 26'. I was stuck on the phone to try to find another location with a truck available (I told them 5-10 miles from the original pick up location was ok, but not more than that). I received a call back from customer service (very rude and unprofessional woman) with a 12' truck available in Arlington, VA, which was 17 miles from the Rockville location. I accepted as long as I could drop it at the original location because it was so much closer to the new apartment. They said I would be charged extra if I were to do so because it was a one-way but I refused, and they finally expressly agreed to no extra charge. I made the operator repeat it to be sure that I would not be charged more than the original $38.17 I had booked the truck for. I received an email confirmation of the pick up in Arlington at 10pm showing a fee of $160 to drop it in Rockville! I called them but they told me it was after hours and advised to call back at 8:30am (I was supposed to pick the truck at 8am that same day). Not to say that I did not sleep well because of those issues added to the stress of the move! When I called customer service at 8:30am, another very unhelpful person told me that they could not modify the reservation because the first woman had on her notes that she told me I would be charged extra for the one way. When pushed to get a solution, she said that I had two choices: 1) cancel the reservation, with no chance to get another truck because those were in high demand, or 2) go to Arlington and ask for a local where I would drop it back there for $60. I really needed a truck and was basically hostage of Budget at this point, so I went with the second option, even though it meant a waste of about an hour to drop it back and a 50% increase in the original price. I checked with them to make sure that the Arlington did, indeed, have a 12' truck available. Once again, they confirmed that they did and that I had to go there to modify the drop off location because they could not do it for me. I arrived there and the location manager told me they didn't have ANY truck - the gentleman explained that customer service made the booking after hours and he only saw it that morning and tried to reach me (precisely when I was ON THE PHONE with customer service!). He also added that it was not the first time they had done that to him and that he had been asking for more trucks over the previous 2 weeks. So, in the end, not only did I not get a truck (which I had booked 6 weeks in advance to avoid that type of issue and had everything planned around), but I also wasted 2 hours that morning going to pick up a truck which did not exist - and wasted gas doing so. Not to mention the fact that I had booked the elevator at my new place from 9 am to 12 and had to deal with the consequences of Budget's inability to honor the reservation! So, the move, which should have taken me a couple hours with one fully loaded truck took me and my friends over 10 hours with all the back and forth and loading of cars!!! I had used Budget for car rental previously and never had an issue, but it is the last time I ever use Budget after this terrible experience which was made worse by customer service.

You need to staff your agencies in accordance with the number of reservations you have. I got here 10 minutes early. There were three people in front of me. I've been here 25 minutes now and there are still two people on front of me. And the third person came back because of a problem. I will be late for the meeting I'm going to. I planned this all out meticulously. It's all screwed up now.

Everything was fine until I got home and looked over the line items on my bill. There was a $3.50 "COST RECOVERY FEE". What the heck is this? I called at least 6 different numbers and was transferred all over creation until I finally spoke with the correct person. I was told it was a charge by the State and had something to do with tax. I called BS. There was a separate line item for tax. I explained that it was NOT tax, and was NOT a state fee but it was indeed a bogus charge to rip off customers. They agreed to credit my card. We will see. I will check in 7 days to see if they really credited me. What dishonestly. Remember to check your bills or you too will be ripped of penny by penny. I know it's only $3.50 but I felt like the tried to steal it from me.

Service was slow because there is only one person working both Avis and Budget. The guy seemed nice but it just took a lot of time to get my car.

Go elsewhere if you wanna rent a car this place is do unprofessional and rude. I was renting a car for just the weekend and they called 15 mobs before I was supposed to pick up the car and said they have no cars at all I get there and the place is sketchy looking so I went else where I would give 0 stars
