I came from the emergency room with my little daughter due to fever and excessive nosebleeds. They gave her Tylenol to reduce the fever. More than 3 hours passed and the doctor never came. I asked if someone was going to come check and they told me yes, but they didn't know what time. I ask for the papers to leave because it seems strange to me that no one gets to see her for more than 3 hours. After 5 minutes the doctor arrives and tells me that she no longer has a fever. She checks her chest and says that everything is fine. She looks at her nose and tells me. That not needs surgery ? and that his bleeding for 20 minutes is normal that the only thing I have to give him is Tylenol. It seems strange to me that they don't even give him tests. It's not the first time. Previously, I arrived with my month-old baby with a fever of 105 and he Even though it is normal, I will not go to this hospital again nor do I recommend it.

In December 2022 and January 2023 my adult daughter had some doctor appointments here. Previous doctor appointments and subsequent doctor appointments had a copay, which was fine. For some reason, they decided to bill these doctor appointments as hospital services which amount to hundreds of dollars. My daughter doesn't have a job and can't afford to pay. We have called them every month for the last year and a half. Every time we call, we are told someone will call us back. One time, in November of 2023, we were able to talk with someone from patient relations who told us they would write off the charges, but my daughter is still receiving bills. We called again today. Patient financial services said they can't help us. We left a message for patient relations. I'm hoping that if I start posting negative reviews on Google that we might finally get this resolved and that they will keep their commitment to write off the bills that never should have been charged in the first place.

Service getting in to emergency was fairly quickly done, what was disappointing is trying to get AHC Consent to Treat papers submitted, we have been waiting over an hour.
Just to turn the paperwork.
Really?????? I’m disappointed

I went in to the ER on the 8th August,24 with positive COVid for 3 days but additional symptoms of high fever and cough and cold. It was a strange experience, the staff out front were like robots ( no friendly welcome). Once in the “room” which looked like a room in a warehouse had blood taken, EKG done and walked through a long hallway, huffing and puffing ( I came in with fever for past 3 days and am 70 plus and the unfriendly tech didn’t even wheel me in a wheelchair or ask me if I could walk. The doc came in after more than an hour stood in the doorway, did no exam and told me I had to take Tylenol. If he had looked at my blood work he would have seem I had a bacterial infection and given me an antibiotic. I even asked he could examine me and he said no need as chest X-ray was clear. It turned out I had a severe sinus infection and after 3 days of more fever got put on Augmentin by my doctor. An EKG was “done” but I did not see the actual results so not sure if he read them. I did ask to be put on Paxlovid as I was in the 5 day window and he sent me home with one dose down and a prescription. To get his nose in the room and to tell me it just COVid took all of 4 hours. It wasn’t a busy night per one of the nurses and the 4 hours was after I got the room. I was not hooked up to the vitals monitor even though there was one in the room. Nobody came to see how I was doing or tell me what was going on. My husband had to go out a ask if someone could help us as it had been four hours and the only kind soul of that night, a nurse called Daniel helped us get our exit papers.I pray I never have to come here again. I hear it’s called Shady Grave and now I know why. I would like to voice my complaints to someone at Adventist Healthcare and will do so shortly. They really need to change the way they treat patients.

This hospital is useless my mother was there on for a psych evaluation I called when she got there to ask about the photos and videos that I have because I knew she wasn’t going to admit. They said they didn’t need then they call me at 3 in the morning to ask for them then released my mother because she wasn’t showing any signs of a mental disorder when she very much has one. I went through this whole process to get her help just for them to drop the ball because I wasn’t awake to send them my texts between her and I when she was showing signs of a mental disorder. When I called to begin with to get them the photos. All they had to say was she needs to present with a mental disorder and to call the police. My mother went without treatment because I was stupid enough to listen to them. All she has done since she gotten home is stay cooped up in her room because this event has made her more paranoid all for them to do nothing when she needs the help. Instead of them treating the problem before it gets worse I have to wait for her to hurt herself or someone for them to do something. Thank you for nothing

The staff who registers you in (patient/visitor check in) are unprofessional. The manager had me wait in the lobby area with my child for a long time even though I told her the head nurse approved my child being on the 4th floor.
I told T. JEWEL and T. LOIS the head nurse and manager on the 4th floor said to have them call upstairs.
However, these 2 individuals were being difficult and had me wait over 15 mins claiming they had a long line to register. They kept talking about the policy at Shady Grove hospital.
They could care less that people such as manager above them gave them the ok to allow my child to go to the 4th floor. These people are cold hearted...

If I could give no stars for this ER I would. This has been the worst ER experience I have ever had. The fact that this department even passes JACHO or OSHA standards is shocking to me! I brought my mother in here per her gastro dr request to be admitted! We are still sitting in what they call a room but is more like something I would experience in a third world county! They didn’t hook her up to any monitors until I complained. There wasn’t even a nurse call button in the room if there had been an emergency. The nurses rarely checked on us or any patients around us. We had two patients next to us that were peeing all over the floor and the nurse staff did nothing! When we told them he had peed all over the bathroom floor they did nothing about it. I came here because her GI doctor requested it, but I would avoid this ER at any cost. The complete and utter disregard for patient well being and care is appalling.

This is an awful place before I started PT I was given a packet with charges and I had one of the admission coordinator come to speak with me and I mentioned to her if I’m going to be receiving a bill later on I don’t want PT and according the admission coordinator my PT was covered with my health insurance plan. I am coming out of the country and I come home to find a bill of $892.41 from this rehabilitation center. It is so sad to me how people are not loyal anymore they lie and lie. I will never be coming back here I was getting Pelvic PT which didn’t even help at all. It’s all a scam to get money out of people!!!!!!

I recently had a procedure done at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital at 9901 Medical Center Dr, in Rockville, Maryland. I was wheeled out of the hospital by Juliet after my procedure with a smile on my face. My appointment was scheduled for 11:30 am. I needed to be in about half an hour earlier for the usual processing. Typical hospital things. Registration went smoothly.
Nancy my pre-op nurse was a dream, a high caliber professional. She inquired about the ease of registration before delving into her work with me. Her compassion for the patient was clearly evident as she went about her duty. She was interested in the patient (me) as a human being not simply in getting a job done. Her calm reassuring voice, pace and provision of step by step information about each thing that I would experience before I experienced it was exemplary and totally unreflective of the busy nature of a hospital. She was particular in collecting and verifying information and she ensured that I was comfortable. She was detailed to the point of ensuring my privacy in as much as a hospital curtain allowed. What impressed me even more was that when she moved on to another patient, I could overhear her preparing the other person with the same thoroughness and compassionate approach that she used with me.
Stella, the EKG technician was equally professional. She was caring and well focused on her task. Timing, effectiveness and efficiency seemed to carry over from one staff member to another.
There was some wait time before my procedure since the patient ahead of me required some more time. It was a comfortable wait. Upon being wheeled into operating room (OR) by a cheerful staff member (Mimi?), a quick look around were familiar face, Dr. Sekhon the gastroenterologist, Dr. Ciolini the anesthesiologist, Mimi the circulating nurse and Jerson the scrub nurse ( I asked for his name later).
While I had been well prepared for the procedure, I was amazed at how quickly and flawlessly the entire procedure went. I actually looked around wondering when the procedure would begin since I was feeling as aware and unimpaired as I was when I was rolled into the OR. I was told it was over and took all of 15 minutes. Reflecting on the experience, I should have guessed that something had transpired since I no longer had any equipment attached to me although the entire team was still present. Having had other hospital experiences in the past and one experience at another hospital with another set of doctors where recovering from anesthesia didn't go smoothly, I was most appreciative of care in the hands of an exemplary team of experienced, knowledgeable super professionals who left nothing to chance at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. Ah! A quick add on about Dr. Sekhon, He truly is one of the most remarkable gastroenterologists in the area.
