The only reason I'm giving this place 1 star is so that my comment can be posted. Avoid this company by all means. I will start by saying that my initial visit to the Rockville store was very pleasant. Mike Taylor worked with me to get the right fireplace to fit my existing space. Then came the issues. Once the installers started the install they realized that a part was missing. I was told that I would get a call the next day or two on when the part would be in and to schedule a day to finish the installation. 3 days passed and I hadn't heard a peep so I called and was told by Mike Taylor that someone would call me the next day. Next day, no call so I called back. This went on for a week. Finally, I am on the schedule, it was a Thursday. The installer indicated that WSSC would be in for inspection that following Monday. I get a call two days later (early Saturday morning) from Saul asking me questions about the install. After not being able to answer his questions he decided to look at the photo taken by the installer. He determined that it would not pass inspection that Monday b/c the fireplace had not been bolted to the frame. Okay, so I arrange my Saturday schedule so that two installers could come and bolt the thing. Come Monday, no inspector showed up and no one called from Acme. Once again I had to initiate the call to ask what happened. After two days of calling I was told the inspector would come which he did. Then, after the final payment was charged to my account I realized that I had been overcharged. I called and spoke to Mike Taylor regarding the overcharge and was told that he would pass that info onto someone in finance and that I would get a call. Of course, the call never came so I made 3 more calls in as many days and was told the same thing. Finally, I let it be known that if I did not hear back by the end of that particular business day that I would be contacting the credit card company. Crickets once again so now the CC company is handling the dispute. Mike Taylor told me that he is part owner of this company so I was taken aback when he showed no interest or concern in the fact that I had been overcharged and wanted to "pass the buck" indicating that billing is not his department. IMO if you own a business, every aspect of that company is your "department" and you should be concerned that your customers are being overcharged and/or extended subpar custom service. Mike and all of the employees at that Rockville store need customer service training!

I work in Rockville and live in VA
He was most helpful in explaining the various types of gas inserts
Unfortunately, since i live in Va and they don't service my area but was very helpful and offered to answer any questions that i may have going forward in my search
If they serviced Va I would most definitely buy form them
Great customer service even to a non customer

I heard from Mike Taylor, after i'd submitted an inquiry to heatolator for repair and/or replacement. He called to follow up, however we realized that i was WAY out of his service area (by a few hundred miles). When i thanked him, and mentioned my disappointment as i'd been trying to find a headolator technician since JANUARY (this is October); he offered to help me find one in my my area, and he spent about 20 minutes on the phone with me helping me find a technician in my area. What GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE for someone who likely won't be a customer, a solid indication of the care/service his customers will get. THANK YOU MIKE TAYLOR & Acme Stove!

Highly recommend for gas fireplace maintenance or repair. Justin T. is a great tech. He performed simple maintenance and fixed our fireplace when other company recommended replacement parts. Now it’s working like new!

If you are even remotely considering a gas fireplace, you should talk to the folks at Acme. Jessie spent an hour with us, explaining various features of gas fireplaces. He knows fireplaces and was not at all hesitant to show us what to look for, even though we told him we could not buy a fireplace from Acme because we were moving from the area and were just getting ideas for our new house. I admire a business that treats a non-buyer the same as a committed purchaser. Thank you Acme—and Jessie.

I have worked with this company for years in two different homes. They are experts in what they do. It is tremendous to work with people who are so knowledgeable about the products that they sell and repair. They are honest, trustworthy, and personable. I can't recommend them highly enough.

We visited Acme Stove, knowing we wanted a gas fireplace but unsure about brands, features, sizes and anything else. We met with Mike Taylor, the VP of Sales who couldn't have been more helpful. He asked lots of questions, was very informative and helpful. He explained the differences and why one brand over another. At the end of our time there we were well informed and now only need to decide which brand and features. If you are looking for fireplace help, whether a new one or maintenance on an existing one you have to visit this store.

Kudos to Mike and the staff at Acme stove. I recently had to replace my fireplace gas insert after 25 years, which I purchased from Acme stove. The install team was great and answered the questions I asked. The follow up by Justin was outstanding.
