My experience has been horrible. This has been the third time my vehicle has been in the shop for the same exact reason. Initial reason why it’s in the shop because it would not start and it got towed first it was some type of wire that they replaced that I paid for was almost $1000, I get it out drive a little bit and then it didn’t start again take it back to them then it’s the fuel pump that gets replaced. That’s also over $1000 for clarity and now my car is back in the shop cause it wouldn’t start a couple days ago same shop now it’s a wire that’s connected in the back by the fuel pump that that’s burnt out that they didn’t know it was bad the first time so now I’m thinking what if the fuel pump wasn’t even bad, would’ve got a little wire the whole time and now just wasted my money so to speak this experience with them is frustrating. I will never go back.

I was there this morning to drop off my car for an alignment (by appt). Alex, the assistant service manager” was there to help me. He did not ask for my name, member ID or if I had an appt for this service. Since the start of the conversation he refused to help, and all the answers to my questions was “idk what you want me to tell you” he didn’t bother to call the Rockville store to confirm that one of the reps made the appt nor provided additional solutions. I don’t think that kind of attitude fits a managerial position.

This auto care center is terrible. They charge you a few thousand dollars for a small problem which they alway exaggerate . They are not honest. SO avoid going to this place.

Had my car towed here with a flat tire. Got fast service with good explanations of the available tire options.

I took my vehicle to the Gaithersburg location for an oil change last week. I was told my vehicle needed new tires among other things and that my front axle seal was leaking and would have to bring the vehicle back for that as they had to order the part. Fine - I get the tires, which I later found out I had been overcharged for and could have found them cheaper. Spent a little over $1K for all that work. My brakes get green checks - everything is fine. I drop my vehicle off this week for the one thing that was not done last week - the seal that was leaking on the front axle. A couple of hours later, I get a call from the manager who says the front brake pads and rotors are severely worn out and need to be replaced. I am in shock because during the check done last week, they were given a clean bill of health. That would now cost me over $600 (including the axle seal). I told the manager I didn't want that done as why was that not caught last week? His response was very rude with a nasty tone he tells me that he will put this in writing that I have to park the car and not drive it as it's a safety hazard. I asked for the information via email, which he sent and had noted my refusal with multiple explanation marks. Totally unprofessional. Not even once did he think to apologize for the technicians having missed that last week. He talked about following up with the technicians about this. Needless to say, I agreed to have the brakes and rotors replaced as I will be driving the vehicle out of town. I am totally disappointed with the lack of regard for me as a customer and the unprofessional way I was treated. I have brought my vehicle to this location since I moved to the area 5 years ago for oil changes and other things. I have had AAA for a long time, but this has really left a bad taste in my mouth. I will definitely not be setting foot in that location ever again.

I had a low tire light come on so I found this place on Google and drove over. The manager said there were no appointments but he said drive up to the bay and I will check the tires. They were all slightly low so he filled them. He said if the light comes back on, call me and I will fit you in. He couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating.

I have been taking my vehicle to this particular location for over seven years and have never had an issue until the last few months. I initially brought my car in for an oil change. They ran their diagnostics on the car and told me that it needed suspension work done. I scheduled it and the work was completed. However, the next time I brought it in for an oil change they tried to charge me and tell me that the suspension work needed to be completed , which led me to believe that they clearly didn't fix it properly the first time. I had to point out to them that it was under warranty otherwise they would have charged me twice! No admission to their wrong doing or no compensation. They redid the work and no issues. Provided me with a diagnostics report in August of this year; all good. Took the car in for an oil change and their diagnostics report indicated that I needed new spark plugs and shocks. When I spoke to the manager and questioned why it wasn't in the previous report because the wear and tear on both take more than a month; he simply was full of excuses and expected me to pay $1,200. Absurd!! It was only when I called back after looking thru my paperwork and pointed out a few things to him, then he said he would reduce it to $800. I honestly wouldn't trust these mechanics at all. They also put too much air in one of my tires as well. I would not recommend taking my vehicle here!

Over 3 hours for an oil change even with an appointment is crazy. Definitely do not go there if you don't want to waste your day

Gaithersburg AAA travel agent Tony Weldon is a gem. He has gone out of his way to help me with some challenges in planning my trip to Tanzania, and I am very grateful. I have found the office staff at the Gaithersburg AAA office to be welcoming and professional. I will use them for all future travel needs. Thank you, Tony!

They're friendly enough, but will definitely try to get over by assigning services that a vehicle does not need. I had this experience with them after having my car towed here by AAA. Once I realized something was off with the service estimate, I proceeded to have my vehicle towed to the dealership I typically use (where I wanted to have it towed initially, but fell for the AAA upsale - a different issue) and was quoted at a fraction of the price it would've cost to get my car running at this shop. I am happy to have been screwed out of the additional tow fee by AAA after saving a thousand dollars.

Have heard decent things about AAA in the past and wanted to have someone look at my car before I take it on a 2500+ mile trip. Brought it in for an oil change and asked that they look at the car and let me know about potential problems that could impact my road trip. I was assured that they have a checklist that they run through and they will look my car over and let me know what they find.Sure enough there were a few problems and I agreed to come in next week after they ordered a part since there was a problem with my axle. While they were fixing my axle I was informed that my rear brakes were dangerously low to the 2mm thickness and in danger of failing a safety check and that it would be another few hundred to fix them.I've changed brakes before. Did they need to be changed immediately? No. However, if I had known previously to taking this roadtrip that breaks were on the to do list I would have ordered the parts and done it myself last weekend. Now I'm 3 days out from moving and I just don't have the time or the equipment to do it myself because I'm packing.Alex is great. I like the interactions we've had, however, telling me that you're going to talk with the individual who did the initial inspection doesn't change the fact that I'm out a few hundred dollars. AAA is now about as good as JiffyLube in my mind. Come for an oil change if you need it, go anywhere else for everything else.

They are so slow and they treat people of color like they don’t exist. Making an appointment doesn’t matter because you still have to wait 3 hrs for a simple oil change if you are black. The girl at the front desk totally ignores you when you come in and the other agents in the building act like you don’t even belong. This will be the last time I visit this location and I will make sure none of my friends or family members come to this location. This is unacceptable to say the least.??

Update to my previous post 4 weeks ago.As you can see I was requested to contact one of their service reps here. After an initial contact I was informed that I would be contacted shortly by this service center in Gaithersburg. Not only did they NOT contact me for 2 weeks. I had to recontact their service rep after my trip and ask if anyone was going to bother getting in touch with me because it had been 2 weeks.Shortly afterwards Gaithersburg AAA contacted me. They let me know that they had talked with their staff about checking brakes and picked up some machine to help them with their brake checks and once again apologized for the experience I had. The same apology I was given when I asked them about it at the shop. Good news to all the new customers who bother to visit them. They weren't property checking your breaks previously, but now they will. You're welcome! That's it. An apology. I am out a few hundred dollars. I will never set foot in a AAA service center again. Professional thieves. Their mistakes cost you your money. My message with them from 9 days ago still hasn't been responded to.
