Pretty good selection, at least compared to VA ABC stores! They have a particularly good selection of local wine & spirits which are always fun to browse. The guy at the register made some comments about me buying “sweeter/fruitier” beverages so I knocked it down a star, but otherwise a good experience.

I have not had a bad experience in a MoCo liquor store that I can recall. Some stores are bigger, some smaller, some newer, some cleaner than others. All in all, the staff is excellent. They know their product and stock. This can be said anywhere from Cabin John to Silver Spring, to Rockville and Germantown. My reason for taking away a star is the varying procedures for Highly Allocated stock, esp bourbon. Part of the problem is limited production by some of the distilleries. MoCo does try to keep the inventory system updated and access fair, but having been able to find one "special" bottle in over 3 years, I get the feeling that someone must be gaming the system. MoCo still seems a lot fairer than a lot of other counties. I hear in Virginia it's almost impossible to get ANY decent bourbon.
