What a beautiful museum.
I had a wonderful experience at this museum. There are walking trails - the landscape surrounding the museum is beautifully and meticulously designed to coherently exist with art scultures displayed outdoor, although the nature itself is breathtaking on its own.
The Pavilion was closed for construction but the other indoor gallery was open. They limit the number of visitors to minimize the interruption so reservation is recommended. The gallery has a number of contemporary, modern art from the 20th-21st centuries. Textual descriptions remain minimum to allow visitors to experience and feel the art first without biased perhaps. The placement is meticulously designed to draw the visitor’s attention to each art work in a coherent way. Staffs are there to engage visitors by answering and asking questions, only if the visitors want to. Otherwise, visitors are welcome to enjoy the art in any way they want. One of the staffs there, Tonie, was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable by asking thought-provoking questions and sharing her way of interpreting certain art works. This engagement made my visit today unforgettable and special.
Overall I spent about 5 hours but can see it’d take a full day easily.
The weather was very hot. It’d be nicer to come in the evening time or later in the Fall.

It's pretty with nice areas to walk around. This is a mostly outdoor walking museum, so wear the right shoes. Bring water for the summer, and there are water filling stations throughout the park.
For how large it is, there is not particularly much in the way of art to see. There are no explanations of the art or artist on the placards. It was hard to understand the pieces purpose, or how the configuration of the whole Glenstone ground could be meaningful.
If you're visiting the area for the first time, there are many other free museums and scenic parks that can provide more impact.
It's free so no harm in visiting once. Be advised you need to reserve entry tickets in advance (quick and easy to do on their website).

This is one of those places that’s so great you almost don’t want to write a review so nobody else finds out about it. It’s a modern art museum set on a huge amount of land. It’s sprinkled with pretty walking trails and the occasional big cool sculpture but otherwise left to grow naturally.
The art was lovely, but really the best part was just the serenity of walking these beautiful grounds in the quiet. Go on a day with nice weather and make sure you check their website. It’s free admission, but you do need to get a pass in advance.

Amazing Art Museum!! The pieces of art are incredible, but I was also impressed how the whole experience was. All the staff was incredibly nice and welcome, the food at the bars was amazing and everything looked clean and new. Really impressed by this museum!

Had an amazing morning walking the grounds of Glenstone this holiday weekend.
It was definitely worth the hour drive for our 10AM timed entry (best time in my opinion to beat the MD Summer heat!!!) We basically had the grounds to ourselves, and it was beautiful!!
Unfortunately, the pavilion is currently close for renovation, but I hope to come back when it's open.
The gallery was beautiful with a wide array of artists on display.

Bizarre museum experience, truly. It’s in quite a remote location, and the art there on exhibit is freakish and alternative but very difficult to interpret. Huge sprawling space which makes for a weird but kind of nice and refreshing museum visit as it is different from let’s say the urban museums of DC. There’s also a sort of nature trail part though the woods which is also very refreshing and serene, I enjoyed it as a visitor from DC. Ultimately though the drive wasn’t worth it, don’t think I would return.

The patio provided a delightful setting for conversation, making our double date here quite enjoyable. A charming spot to enjoy the pleasant weather, though the pavilion was unfortunately closed.
