Very slow pump! It’s not often you notice the speed of a pump, but I did for this lengthy endeavor.

Consistently trustworthy, courteous and reasonable. 2 months ago I replaced the battery in my 2017 Toyota Highlander (replaced myself) but the connector cable wasn't sitting properly and wouldn't connect. Took it to BP in Potomac Village and they speculated we might have to get a replacement cable (which they had in stock). I was resigned to that fate, but they called back later that afternoon to tell me their technician was able to fix my existing cable and walked out of there spending only $30.Fast forward to today's experience. I had a flat tire that needed to be plugged. I managed to get the donut on the SUV and made my way to NTB on old georgetown (That longer review will be up soon - 1 star) where they told me they couldn't plug and that I needed 4 new tires. I knew one of my tires was new so I left them without any repairs and came here to BP. Not only can they plug it, but confirmed my other tires are fine. Finally, They checked the air in my donut tire to make sure I was safe driving until they are done plugging my flat tire. THe PSI on my tire should've been at 60 and was at 20!! SO they filled it up and sent me SAFELY along my way!

My wife loves her 2000 Ford wagon. However, it had occasionally been running a bit poorly before she took it on a trip to PA. An hour after she left, I got The Call from near Frederick. She was not able to get the car to go faster than 40 mph and she was stranded at the scenic overlook. I drove up from Bethesda and swapped cars with her. It took me 2 hours to get the wagon back to Potomac using low speed back roads. The wagon kept going slower and slower; for the last few miles through Potomac, it would only go 8 miles per hour or less. Luckily, the car was able to limp into the BP station at Falls and River roads. The manager, Brian Hannan, said the problem could be clogged catalytic converters; they certainly were old enough to be full of rust and soot. A replacement "cat" costs about $800, and the Ford has three of them: bye bye two and a half grand! I hadn't thought of an exhaust problem; it looked to me like a transmission or fuel problem. Brian warned me that they had a lot of cars in for service and it might take 5 days to get to it. No problem, I felt lucky to get in the queue at any gas station! Then I called a cab to get home, but even before the cab arrived Brian's mechanic had the car up on a lift to check out the exhaust plumbing. Imagine my surprise when I got a call the very next day saying my car was finished. I called back in disbelief. How much? $204. The mechanic said that there was a ton of crud blocking the exhaust headers, but the cats were clear; all they had had to do was knock the crud out of the headers and reassemble them. The car now runs like a watch! I am so impressed with both the BP mechanic's skill and Brian's honesty. He could have charged me thousands for a bogus repair, and I would have been none the wiser. Thanks, Brian, for such honest and competent service.

This shop was very helpful. Service was closed (and the pay air machines were broke) but sales clerk made sure that an air hose was available to fill my tire. Without this air, I would have been in trouble because my tire was almost flat.

Brian was awesome, helping me this morning out of the kindness of his heart!! I stopped at before 6 am to put air in my tires. I put the air in but the light wasn't going off. So I broke out my air charger that works on the lighter. Brian, saw this and came out to help me. He checked the pressure and explained how I had overfilled some tires and the other one was very low. He removed air from the over filled tire and told me to pull around back and he would fill the low one. He was even kind when I was sure my pressure and tire size were much bigger than they were :)!! He was a blessing to me and I am so greatful for his help!!! I would definitely take my car there for service!! He took so much time to help me with nothing to gain except the knowledge he helped someone in need. For me it was a huge blessing and has made my day and week!! Thanks Brian!!

I am upping my game as a Yelper. For that reason this review like many of my recent reviews is a long time coming. It is my ordinary practice to start with the positive things about a business and then discuss the negative. Potomac BP has two outstanding mechanics in Rick and the owner Brian Hannah. Brian was honest with my family and me in all of our dealings. Brian would use parts that we procured ourselves to do the job, but would not guarantee the part which us entirely reasonable. I would encourage anyone looking for an honest mechanic to give Brian a try.

Unfortunately, I got a flat tire while driving into work. This was the closest garage from the River Road 495 exit. The staff were friendly & professional and the shop was clean and orderly. 15 mins and 25$ and I'm back on the road. Thanks!
