I just had the worst experience ever at Shop Rite in Jacksonville. I came in on my way home at 9:40 to pick up a few things. I arrived at the check out and discovered all of the self check outs were closed except for one. Two gentlemen were bagging their groceries and it appeared that they were going to be awhile. I looked over to cashier who was standing there talking to another employee and asked if all of them were closed. She came over and said that it was 20 minutes to closing and people coming in at this time were obnoxious! I said I run stores and this happens all the time. She took me to a small counter and rung me up. One item. She refused to move her hand so I could place my item down while I put my credit card in the machine. She than began to tell me that she worked for a Fortune 500 company and didn't care what I thought. This was her second job and didn't need it anyway. At this moment my item fell to her right because she refused to move her hand so I coukd put my item down. I had to place it in a awkward position. She looked at it abd told me to pick up. I looked at her and began to leave She said some things that really got me angry and I said some things I regret saying as I left. This is something I definitely didn't expect from a local family owned business in a community thatvI lived in most of life. I have shopped here since they opened. I would mention her name but why bother. I will no longer shop here. I will pay a few dollars more and shop at Safeway across the street.

Would leave ZERO stars if I could. On my first (and last) trip to this location I was accused of stealing at self-checkout at least twice. My simple response the first time was, "I scanned that item. You can check the screen to confirm". That should have settled that misunderstanding, but for some reason was not convincing to the attendant. The same person came back again to then accuse me of not paying for my bags... Which I did because the proof was on my receipt.I said, "I did pay. Check the receipt." This was STILL not convincing enough to her and she called the manager over. By the way, instead of rectifying the situation the manager just said, "She's just trying to do her job." Yes, but do you train your staff to make offensive accusations to your customers? You can prevent theft, but be confident someone is ACTUALLY shoplifting!I have NEVER been treated like that at a store. Let me say this, there were several people that came and went through self-checkout and none of them got treated like that. I am never returning.

Very beautiful on the outside, inside is nothing special and very cramped. Just your typical, overpriced grocery spot.

I had to pick up an item or 2. It was a quick in and out without any trouble finding what I needed or checking out. I am always grateful for self check out so I can get out quickly. The store appeared neat and organized. My only issue was the parking lot is small and I got a little confused on a one way section trying to get out.

The store was pretty crowded, the deli is always slow and there was a lot of clutter in each aisle. Not super busy on a Sunday morning.

Big store. Well lighted. Smell just inside was a bit off. Plenty parking spots with some HC spaces. Lots of product varieties. Nice seafood selections. Friendlier employees than most ShopRites we've visited. No hominy, however, doesn't anyone carry Manning's hominy!

On 3/10/23 I was working a lot of hours so opted to try a grocery delivery from Shoprite. I have never done this before, but I saw that they delivered when I went to their store and their website. So I went to Shoprite's website (shoprite.com), logged in as myself, picked what I wanted, and selected a delivery time of 6pm-7pm. When 7pm came, and no delivery, I called the Jacksonville Shoprite. I was told that that despite their store having huge signs saying they deliver, and a website that has you pick a delivery time and give your address and charge you a $14.98 delivery fee, the don't deliver. The person on the phone told me that they only pick your groceries out for you, and store them at the front of the store so when you pull up and they will load them in your car for you. Their website clearly says DELIVERY. It had me enter my address and pick a "delivery time" so I knew this was not true. So I got in my car and went into the store to complain. I actually brought my laptop with me so I could show them the part of their website where they accept delievry orders for THAT location. This time, when I spoke to the guy at their customer service desk, and some guy who seemed like a manager, they admitted they actually do offer delivery, but that a third party company name Shipt, is who actually does the pickup and delivery. Their website made no mention of "Shipt" or third parties. Their website leads you to believe that it is a service they offer. Apparently this third party had no one to come and pickup and deliver my order, and they did not email or text me to let me know, despite having all of my contact information. The manager did say my order was ready and bagged up and I could take it. I said I wanted my $14.98 delievery fee back since it was not brought to me as promised. He said "I can't do that, you will have to call them and work it out with them,: handing me a handwritten note with "Shipt" and their phone number on it. I paid for a delivery this order. I paid ON SHOPRITE'S WEBSITE. I did not contract with "Shipt", I contracted with "Shoprite". They were the ones offering the delivery , and when I paid with Paypal, the total, including the $14.98 delivery dee was PAID TO SHOPRITE, not SHOPT. There is no reason they cannot return to me this money as their agent did not provide to me the delivery service that they advertised on their website. They basically ripped me off for the tune of $14.98. With the different stories they gave on the phone and in person, I wonder if this was their plan all along.And this debacle is not my first issue with them. I have consistently found that the items don't ring up at the sale price or at the price promised in a digital coupon I had loaded to my card. I had to start carrying the circular and print out of my coupons into the store with me. But then when you complain, they shrug and blame the ad or the website (Well we can't control what is on there..). Really? It sounds like bait and switch to me. You advertise prices, but hope people don't notice when they check out that the sale won't be applied. And like the delivery issue where they acted like the victim and it was all Shipt's fault, here they act like the victim and blame the website and ad (that THEY wrote and published). The store is "Klein's Shoprite", and part of Harford County lore is an old story about the Klein's supermarket in the town of Bel Air (pre Shoprite days) that says the store always left a rake or broom propped up by the cash register. As each person checked out, the cashier would make sure to ring up that rake/broom. Many an unsuspecting customer was charged for this rake, unless they spoke up and point out it was not theirs. I guess this $14.98 "Delivery fee" is the modern day equivalent of that rake. You will set up a delivery time. You will pay Klein's Shoprite for the delivery, but you will have to go there and get your items anyway yourself. And when you call them

The manager Tim needs a reality check. He decided to catch an attitude with me than hid in his office and call the police when I snapped back.You’d think he would try to keep peace at work to keep the last 3 hairs on his head but no.Must suck retiring with a 401k from shop- rite.Reasons why I’m in college.Happy Holidays though. :)

3 kids working behind the meat counter, slow store, takes nearly 45 mins for 5 meats ordered through the kiosk. The manager defends the incompetent meat counter. They are doing the best they can, boy are we doomed with the kids. Manager made sure I knew how to spell his name by yelling it at me in front of customers after I turned around S T O N E…ok thank you I will take my business to Safeway across the street.

I have shopped here and then stopped because my pantry kept getting infested with moths, then one day I decided to go back and they were pulling all of the cereal off the shelves, so I decided to stay away longer- I figured they knew they had moths, and needed to clean the store out...I recently went back because the prices are the best, and I figured the moth problem should be gone, but guess what came home with me? Pantry moths!!!! Again,I have completely done everything to keep them away, just a few trips to Jacksonville ShopRite and I have moths again. I have spent thousands throwing food out, cleaning my pantry, googled how to do it correctly, and a few trips to Shop Rite, and am battling moths again, it's not worth it.

I’m not sure what it is with the cashier, but every time I get a cashier they always ring it up wrong no matter who it is I don’t know if they’re new or they just don’t know how to do their job but they always scan something twice and take forever. There is a few AWESOME cashiers, and self checkout is always outstanding the young lady does a great job keeping it clean and has good service and is seemingly always working. She makes small talk and is super friendly, it’s a pleasure to have her.This time my cashier Meredith over scanned two things and then took forever to clear them!! She gave me attitude when I asked what happened and told me it was just waiting on someone else!!Overall, the store is great. Customer service is great.Some of the cashiers just need to learn to do their job quicker and correct!
