We picked a wrong day to visit I guess. The National wheel was closed because it was too windy and it was very cold too.It’s a nice spot to visit when in the area, parking is somewhat tricky. You can always park in Marine garage, street parking isn’t available.“The awakening” is good! Children play around it!

If you hapoen to be in the harbour of old Alexandria Town and have some extra time crossing to the National Harbour in Maryland from Virginia is a great way to spend time and go sightseeing. The place is filled with nice restaurants and shops and has a calm, strolling atmosphere during weekdays.

I have mix feelings about this area. It's a nice newer small mix commercial and housing area a little outside of DC proper. There are quite of few restaurants and shops to choose from in a walkable range. The place lacks a bit of character. It looks something constructed from a billionaire's dream. The Harbor was constructed of a sizeable waterfront property.

Wonderful area to spend a morning, an afternoon, or evening in; after your time on the water, there are myriad options for food, drinks, and shopping. Highly recommend taking a ride on the ferris wheel during the evening and enjoying the skylines of Alexandria and DC.
