Proceed with caution: this provider is very stingy and strict when it comes to billing. Possibly even scammy. For example if you have two biopsies, they'll tell you to come back for the second one for whatever reason. I explicitly wanted my biopsies all done on the same visit to avoid this. Nope, like clock work there was a perfunctory reason why the second biopsy had to get postponed to next time. And sure enough, next time they charged *another* copay. Also surgery copays cost me $150. And even freezing off a skin tag counts as a "surgery" and they charge the surgery copay for that (i.e. $150). So yeah, they're good at structuring your treatment so they keep getting $150 from you over and over. Advice: get as much done during one office visit as possible, and be firm in that you don't want follow-up visits for things that can be done same day. Also, I've been to multiple offices for this provider (Advanced Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery) in Virginia and Maryland, and they all behave this way. 'Another $150, please!'

Very professional and understanding to my needs and concerns. The front desk staff was so pleasant. Overall I had a great experience.

I don't plan to come back to this location due to the rude behavior of one of the nursing staff/assistants I encountered. It took over a month for them to handle a prescription issue and get it sent to my local pharmacy. No matter the time and day I will, I can't reach anyone over the phone - my calls always go to voicemail. Overall, a really negative experience. I recommend finding another place for appointments, either elsewhere or at one of their surrounding locations.

I used to go here two years ago but stopped because they no longer accept my insurance. I was called a couple of weeks ago and told that they now have a doctor who accepts my insurance. I scheduled an appointment and arrived 15 minutes late due to an accident/ traffic on my way there. When I arrived I was told that they have a 15 minute grace period and they would have to see if the doctor will still see me. After 5 minutes I was told that I would have to wait an hour and a half to be seen. I literally arrived within the allowed grace period and was unable to be seen within a reasonable amount of time. I left and I will not be returning.

Made an appointment for my child they didn't tell me I need an referral for her to be seen until I got to the office. So unprofessional. Took off work for nothing. Do better with informing patients of procedures. All they told me bring was an insurance card and ID

I walked in and was greeted by the front desk staff who was extremely pleasant and helpful. My wait time was no more than 3 minutes. The Dr was AMAZING! She explained everything in detail and answered all my questions. I previously went to 2 other dermatologist who wasn't as pleasant nor as knowledgeable.

Horrible experience...I waited 50 minutes in the little room and the doctor never showed up so I left.

I was happy with their recommendations and the results, but the wait time was way too long and the appointments felt rushed. At my last visit I waited over an hour past my scheduled appointment time before I was seen. A patient next to me had also been waiting over an hour. Unfortunately I’m looking for a new dermatologist because of this.

Pro-Tierra was very helpful and identified the problem immediately-Prescriptions & treatment worked like a charm.Con-Never picks up the phone or returns calls.-Will auto send you scheduled appointments but can never get a hold of a human.-Getting a refill is literally difficult to do because no one picks up the phone & can't do this any other way

I’ve been experiencing skin irritation for about a week and I found this place with a great rating on google. I decided to check it out. At first I was pleased. The location was good. The building was nice and clean. The front desk was kind and informative. There was a bit of a wait but I didn’t mind much. Then when I got placed in a room where they told me to undress and put on a robe.I did just that. Waited another 15-20 minutes before being seen. The physician final comes into the room and introduces herself (Tierra Hurd) and without warning IMMEDIATELY starts pulling off my robe and examining my skin while asking me questions. She was a bit aggressive and I feel like she was rushing through the process and not really helping me find a solution. She tells me that it could be a number of reasons why my skin is itchy. Take a Claritin and go see my primary care doctor…THATS IT?! For a $45 copay and a waste of my time… I could have done that myself

Feel like I wasted a good few hours of my life. Came here to check on a skin condition I had been having for a while and kept getting different opinions on from different doctors. When I arrived, I was told that they didn't take my insurance and that someone called me earlier to let me know. I checked my phone and the message was left as I was literally on my way to the doctor, so of course I didn't get it. I was told it could be between $91-$204 depending on what was done. I wasn't trying to pay out of pocket but I figured it made sense since I was already there, so I said ok. I had to wait for 40 mins after that just to be seen. I tried explaining my situation to the doctor but she didn't wait for me to finish before just telling me the same cookie cutter answer as everyone else and writing me stronger versions of the steroids I already told her I didn't want. Then they charged me $204 and I was no closer to help and still in pain. Save yourself some time and avoid this office and find a doctor that cares about you and your problems.

Although, I was satisfied with the actual treatment - removal of skin tags, everything else was the PITS. I believe that they charged me for 2 office visits ($201 each) which they should not have. They also badgered me about paying charges that they incorrectly billed. This went on for months. I told them in November that they were sending claims to my secondary insurance, instead of the primary. They didn't listen and insisted that I had to resolve the situation. In January, I received another bill - for the same service. In response, I called and was patronized and treated rudely.Appointments are incorrectly made. They charged for visits that were not billable (a visit that was a follow up and supposedly covered by the cash fee paid) They are incompetent. They are rude. Their customer service stinks!

Waited in the waiting room for over an hour and they never called me back until I went back up to the front desk. Then everyone wanted to be extra friendly, made me not want to go back due to staff but Nina made up for the rest of her staff. Also was put on hold due to them messing up my scheduling and finally got someone to answer and then as I started talking they put me on hold again. Very dissatisfied.
