Instructional Fitness & Training Center (IFTC) now re-branded as Anarchy, is a gym I would highly recommend NOT going to for your fitness needs. For a little background, apparently in the original contract I signed with prior ownership (changed about 10 months ago to current owners, I'm told) had a statement in it reporting that my bill would auto-renew after the 12 month billing cycle if I don't sign a cancellation form in person. I think this is very unethical to begin with, but fine I accept that I signed this form and it is my responsibility to pay when I cancel. With that being, I would like to note that I haven't lived by this gym since I left so signing a form in person wouldn't have been possible or feasible. Now 3 years later with different ownership I am now getting a call from their collections agency that I owe 324 dollars and change when I haven't stepped foot into the gym in around 2-2.5 years. I never received a call from the new ownership, the email they had on file was incorrect and never verified with me, and the new ownership only sent me a letter notifying me of my charges once they sent me to collections....10 months later! One would think they would have a system in which they identify members who have not been in the gym for a period of time, let's say 6 months, that are racking up monthly membership charges. As I mentioned I do accept partial responsibility, but after speaking with someone on the phone there, they were unwilling to work with me at all; I was just referred back to collections. I would have thought with the extenuating circumstances of new ownership and the size-able amount of money owed might've warranted some concern with the upper level management to reach out to a member that clearly had no idea of these recurring monthly charges being left unpaid. For a gym with new ownership trying to re-brand, this in my opinion speaks to no change in the culture, and I sincerely hope others beware and choose a different gym.

This is one of the best gyms I've been a member to if not the best. New owner has added some great equipment and has been informative and friendly since day 1. If your looking for a gym that has it all for strength conditioning/body building this is it. Great equipment, friendly staff/members and never overcrowded!

Great gym. Clean and modern. Has everything a person serious about their fitness needs, and it keeps growing. The membership is a fair price and the hours are great, although not 24 hours, but that's fine. The WiFi is great, I can stream my workout playlists. Locker rooms are clean and has a suana. I would definitely recommend this gym to anyone from a novice to advanced gym goer who is serious about their health and fitness

There just aren't enough stars!! This was the first gym I joined in MD so it's always felt like home. It did go through a rough patch but it's recently been taken over by a new owner/management. The staff is friendly, professional and always helpful. The gym is clean and well cared for. Within the past couple of months the interior has undergone a renovation and some state of the art equipment has been brought in. As a pro athlete, this is the type of gym I love. The best equipment around, an owner that's open to feedback and members that work hard and exercise proper "gym etiquette." This gym is worth every penny. You won't need another membership. Cardio, free weights, cable equipment, group fitness, showers, saunas and a protein supplements (shakes, bars and cookies). They are also a pick up location for Jimmy's Famous Meals which is the best meal prep service in MD. This gym has it all!!

I didn't have a great experience with the front desk person. When I called to get more information on the flyer they mailed me, she was very vague and not forth coming with information at all. I had to pull information out of her. I will drive there this week to visit. I'm glad to see they are under new management and that this should fix the negative feedback I have read on billing. Wish hey offered a family membership or multiple household discount.

I've been to fitness centers all over the world and this is by far one if the best I have ever been to. At IFTC staff is friendly and informative. The experienced staff and gym members made me feel welcomed and like I belonged. Never once did I see the diverse gym population treat anyone without respect.

Under new ownership. If you want a great workout with all the right equipment then this is the place. It isn't for the masses, it's for those that are serious about their training. Staff is friendly and will assist you any way they can.

This gym used to be an OK place to go when it was a Golds Gym. I would have been nice and gave it 5 stars, but it never deserved more than 3. Now it is one of the worst gyms there is. They have slapped a coat of paint on everything and changed the colors, but most of the equipment is old and broken down half the time. Searching for grips and pins is always an adventure. The floor is dirty and awful. Gym wipes are no longer provided, only paper towels and a spray bottle that no one uses. There are a few friendly people still there, but the owner wrongfully accused me of trying to cheat them out of money on two occasions and that was it. All the owner had to do was check my payment records, but he couldn't help accusing me of cheating him...TWICE! Had other issues with the owner. Truthfully, I am partially to blame for the problems with the owner, but he escalated things over the top. I am canceling my membership and notifying my credit card company to refuse any future payments to this gym.

Best gym around. Members are friendly and very knowledgeable.plentt of equipment to take your body to the next level. This place runs it's self. Majority of members have been here for years .

They were rude with no real customer service. There is an LA Fitness up the street with great equipment. Don't waste your time here

The equipment is up to date and my clients love the environment. I have been able to build my business at IFTC and have the opportunity to learn from Master Trainer is priceless -- I am a member for LIFE!
