I received a promotional flyer which offered oil changes at promotional rates. I had never been to AutoStream before and thought I would give them a try. The flyer offered special rate oil changes, with full synthetic at $69.99. I made the appointment. I was treated very nicely on the phone when I called in.
When I arrived, Scott handled my paperwork. No sooner did I proffer the flyer, that Eric piped in that my car (Lexus ES350) required 5.6 quarts of oil, and then the $69.99 come-on promotion turned into $96. I was miffed, I admit. I explained to Scott that I felt this was a come-on, that gets you in the door and then changes the price. Although the small print on the flyer did indicate "up to 5 quarts" it appears to me only a small percentage of vehicles are in that range.
I explained to Scott that I was a new customer, that I had 2 vehicles that I would be servicing there, but that I didn't want to pay another $10 for the 6/10 of a quart. I hoped for a courtesy.
Instead of trying to satisfy me or treat as a valued new client, and acknowledging the come-on nature of the flyer, Scott proceeded to argue with me. He acted as if knocking $10 off the total price was unheard of. He said if he did that it would come out of his pocket (as if AutoStream was making nothing on the oil change) and he kept repeating the "out of his pocket" argument, which I thought was absurd. He kept asking me "Do you want me to pay the $10 out of my pocket?" and finally I said, "Yes I do." At which point, gruffly, he acceded and gave the $10 discount, but he had made me feel so unwelcome.
The oil change was done. For whatever reason, the "Oil Maintenance" warning message continues to show when I start my vehicle. I would have thought the oil change would have eliminated that.
All said, I did get a $10 discount. But it was done in such a rude manner that I will never be patronizing this AutoStream store again.
Scott had to be aware that survey like this one would be forthcoming to me and I would be responding as I am. He simply could not see the forest for the trees. A simple $10 discount for a new customer who used a flyer is not unreasonable, but he sure made me feel I was taking the food from his children's mouths.

Erik was very helpful an I believe he went above an beyond with ensuring me about all the repairs that was being completed. I didn't feel like he was just trying to run up services on my vehicle. I would bring my vehicles back for any service in the future

I had my vehicle repaired at the owing mills location.. Eric helped my husband and I with the tire I needed replaced on my rogue. He was kind and explained everything to us. Was referred to AutoStream by a friend. Erik helped me with my problem within minutes. After discussing my issues with dealerships, I made an appointment for them to do a full check on my 2021 Ford Escape.
I had my full service check today. To my amazement I received pictures every step of the way.
Erik treats his customers as he would want his wife, mom or sister treated.
Definitely going back and will be referring family and friends.
