This is not a safe place for people of color. Walked in and instantly was told we had to leave items at the counter. The man in the store watched me and my partner as if we were going to steal something. We can more than afford anything in that place and to be made to feel uncomfortable for the few minutes we were even in the store is unacceptable. I should’ve read the reviews because clearly another woman of color felt the same vibe. Will never visit this store again.

This is a wonderful little store. I've been shopping here for 15+ years, mostly to buy bird feeding supplies, but also books, puzzles, cards, etc. They have the best selection of products for birds, plus a wide variety of nature-related gifts and other merchandise. They pack a lot into a small space. The staff is always friendly and helpful, ready to offer good advice and to carry my bags of seed to my car, and I've often swapped bird sightings with the owners. I appreciated how they found ways to stay open safely during the pandemic, with clearly stated policies, pre-ordering, and contact-free pickups.
